I have Cockatoo and her name is Sugar, and she is the cutest and the sweetest girl on this Earth. She's my little baby and we got her on my birthday. She loves to show off to our other birds and she loves to swing upside down on her perches and she does chin ups. She plays peek a boo with me when she's out of the cage and she talks to my boyfriend on the phone=) Once you get a cockatoo, they kind of steal your heart <3

@Aitha Hey, I live in a smaller apartment and have an Umbrella Coockatoo. I can tell you this, he may be loud inside but when we go outside when he's yelling, you can hardly hear it, and we have rather cheap walls. I mentioned something to my neighbor and he didn't even know we had a bird. Not saying that's always the case but his voice doesn't seem to carry badly through the walls. You can hear him, it's just not bad.

Never buy a bird because of the cool stuff they can do. They are a lifetime commitment and require a great deal of love, attention, and the cost to care for them is far more than the price you pay for just the bird. While I personally think they are awesome, it isn't a life for everyone. Not all birds, even the same species, will do the things you see in these videos. So please, if this is all you are looking for, stick to watching them here, and spend your money on something else.

PLEASE make sure you get your pet from either a store that REALLY knows what it's doing (one that specializes in birds) or a certified breeder. These guys are really fun pets but require SO much work. Don't go into a decision like this blindly. Research is your friend! SO many birds are mistreated and abandoned because people didn't realize what they were getting themselves into. If you have any questions feel free to pm me...

My wife is a bit of an animal activist so I can be sure the animal would never be mistreated by us, she actually has owned a bird or two, the last one being a pudgy.

@skie126 and @derap34 I would be inclined to suggest you go to your nearest bird rescue and try to find one there that needs a home. Rather than perpetuate the problem that is caused by breeders and pet stores. (No offense to anyone who bought from either source) I volunteer at a bird rescue and there are so many sad stories of exactly what you mentioned. People didn't know what they were getting into. So I would urge you to go to one and learn about them first, then adopt one if you can.
