  • @DGISID Since 2007 we've offered stage 3 and K04 upgrades. I'm not aware of people with issues. 

  • @APRVideos ok then explain to me how the DSG can handle so much "beating"... the new torque is too much to handle for the stock clutch...

    of corse depending on the clutch, an if it is reinforced with Kevlar, for example and depending on the remap it will last a short or a long time

  • @DGISID moving to the engine... ahhh if the camshaft isnt profiled than you are losing a big step in a preparation, if the rods are not forged i assure you the stock ones WILL BREAK ... Out of curiosity whats the stable pressure? How much does the peak?

  • @DGISID We suggest upgrading only the connecting rods when running our 100 octane race gas files. We have not seen issues with the factory connecting rods on our regular pump fuel files.

  • @DGISID The only reason the DSG can handle so much punishment is because it was greatly over-engineered with tremendous headroom.

  • @DGISID stock dsg handles 500+ hp no problem.stock pistons and rods handle 400 + no problem

  • @DGISID DSG can handle a lot more torque than a manual gearbox. No official figure but estimated around 450lb ft of capacity. BHP does not (I repeat NOT) kill clutches. Even a fully loaded Stg3 or St4 car would be struggling to consistently push this amount of torque. So it'd be fine:D

  • Do you have this kit for a 2012 VW CC?

  • @s54bmw We have both a TSI Stage 3 and K04 turbocharger system for the CC, however we do not have software ready yet for many of the 2012 VW CC ECU's. The new CC's have a new encryption type that we are working on cracking. Once the ECU is cracked, we'll have software available.

    Stage 3 and K04 on the CC will make more power than the vehicle shown in the video above.

  • @APRVideos Awesome thanks. Do you know if the ECU Remapping will affect VW Service diagnostic equipment? I was talking to VW about it, and they were saying some ECU remaps have crashed their systems in the past

  • Ok. So if you are running the full stage III kit on both GTI's, you should be putting down around 370-380 hp. You didn't mention whether or not you have upgraded any of the drivetrain components such as transmission or cv shafts. Is this something you guys have done, or are the stock components strong enough to handle an about 75% increase in power?

  • @snobored09 Grey GTI has an upgrade clutch. Yellow A3 is stock.

  • @escalade2346 you'll need a different kit than what's above. Also, you'll need custom oil/coolant lines and the divorced downpipe.

  • never been a fan of the 4.2L V8. Sounds good but thats it. I a 2.7T S4 with GT25s. An R8 would have no chance.

  • I'm planning to get a gti. I wanted to know if a 07 gti with 112000 miles is a reliable car to get stage 2pr three on. Or should I just cough up the extra cash for a gti with less miles?

  • @antixs092 You'll want to make sure the car has been properly maintained. Check for all the weak spots such as the cam follower and cam lobe to be sure they are up to par. Also check with your local VW dealership to ensure all open recall campaigns are completed.

    Also check the carfax before buying any used car. GTI's and Vdubs in general are amazing cars that can go for 300-500k miles if you maintain it.

  • @schlesser From what we have seen, you'll have no issues. We have hundreds of DSG Stage 3's and most don't have any DSG software at all.

  • @schlesser No need to upgrade the DSG at all although an increased revlimiter is nice to have. If you're shopping for software currently on the market, HPA has the best solution.

    The GTI is NOT that much lighter the R8 (which in this case is a V8) weights 3500lbs and the GTI weights a hair over 3000lbs... The R8 only has 400HP. the stage 3 has 370HP and 45 more ft lbs ... AND did u notice how the R8 pulled near the end which means the R8 has top end on the GTI.

  • The K04 will have lots of low end power where as the Stage III will have more top end. From a Dig the K04 will take off but the Stage III will overpower it. Throw in race fuel or water meth and it's no question the stage III kit will destroy.

    It should be noted in the video the K04 car was running OEM light weight wheels while the two stage III cars had heavy 19 inch oettinger wheels. Wheel setup will make a rather large difference and I suggest everyone look into light weight wheels. :)

  • Holy Piss!...I am currently running a full bolt-on K03 (w/o water/meth) using your Stage 2+ software....on 100oct map that thing would be a BEAST...hmmm VERY tempting...and after viewing this vid, I take it that your advertised HP numbers are conservative as well ;)

  • Believe me, the K04 is a great modification for this engine. It has almost no lag. Full boost by 2800 RPM's and it holds that boost till about 5500 rpm's. Depending on loading and ambient conditions It will creep down a few psi towards redline. It's very OEM. Bolt on and go. And our software for it has been torture tested to ensure EGT's ever going over the turbo's max temperature rating. We make it fun but keep everything safe. :)

  • I have luckily came across some pieces of the kit already and have been debating on if I should sell them to get money for a larger kit...or continue to piece together the K04..But after seeing how closely the K04 runs with the GT28 kit...Im seriously considering just going with the K04..Plus with the support from the rest of my bolt-ons Im sure it would put down some good power

  • Yea I totally agree with tuning for safety....I'd rather sacrifice a few WHP to spare my engine (esp rods) instead of going all out and costing more down the road...Im no "APR fanboy" but your products are legit, proven, and have yet to fail me.

  • You betcha! The K04 was running straight up 93 octane. Had it had race fuel, I'm sure I would have walked away from the R8.

  • You'll wanna keep your finger OFF the trigger... Don't jump the gun. The software will only work with the compression we choose.

What I meant previously was about the switch from the 100 oct stage 3 file to the future low compression lineup.
