@ttiiyy, this is a total guess, but I willing to lay down money and say that they probably reused the plate. So, covering it in plastic allows them to use it again.
No, the plastic does not melt. Gladwrap plastic is commonly used by gourmet chefs to wrap hot meat and cool it in the fridge. They use plastic here on top of the plates so that they can quickly swap out the plastic and serve food quickly without having to wash the plate. It's an outdoor market, so doing dishes would be a nightmare.
@daniyellowjello for what it is worth, I used the textbook phonetic spelling of the dish and not the spelling that would help people with the pronunciation.
@daniyellowjello tripes is not stomach. tripes are intestins. FYI. and this guy eats disgustingly : close youre mouth when shewing, thanks. it's rude.
@ClaudiaNihon, Ah, I really want to eat some more of it before I leave Korea. The other stuff that I did not film was for the best. But the sundae was one of the best things I have eaten since coming to Korea.
Why do they wrap the plate with plastic? Won't the hot food melt the plastic? Isn't the plate already the paper/plastic plate?

@KansaiJesse
It is so that they wouldn't have to wash the plates; they just replace the plastic bag and serve.

@ocabafox, the sundae was very good, but the other stew like dish was awful. Full of veins and arteries. Hard to chew and swallow.
