  • Nice design. But for those of us with less imagination, how about some instructions?

  • From what I can tell (postings) the power desired it insufficient. Try this out: Amplify the voltage as high as you can, add capacitor setup for rapid impulses and feed it through a high voltage spark gap. Try out magnetically quenching the gap and/or combine with vacuum tube. The results should provide an enormous output. Enough to charge the battery and power the bike as well. The faster the Impulses and higher the voltage through the gap the better. Don't knock it till you've tried it.

  • Hope you're not using stock or cheap bike tires on that. Those things are going to blow on you at high speeds (not an if, but when), and the result will not be pretty.

  • can you teach us, how to build one: part we need?

  • your feet go where?....

  • America is getting more lazier as we speak :o

  • Subscribe to my channel! :D

  • nope, not enough power from 1/3 hp motor to haul around 200Lbs, for very far / or fast enough to worry about pedals. i need to build another one, on same frame.

  • Ever get hit by one of them pedals?

  • its cheap

  • i was a china scooter motor, 250 amp... it is too small. worked but too small for any kind of usage... a big electric motor can be found cheap, however, you have to match your battery power to it, and gear ratio.

  • NOT AS EASY AS IT SOUNDS... key to a usable electric bike is a brushless motor in-side the wheel.... about $350.

  • @Somedood200 What kind of motor is it that you could get it cheap ?

  • i am going to make a electric bike with a 3hp handsaw hooked up to a car battery. cant wait

  • that looks deadly

  • You Will Fucking Die On that Bike xD

  • go to sick bike parts dot com and get a 3 piece crank and special hub so you can run a chain without the peddles spinning at the same time.

  • Was it also a 30 dollar camera? :D

  • this is ONLY good when your in EXPRESSWAY, theres no throttle lol

  • Haha you can't ride it it's ilogical

  • at bike surplus / salvage shops you can find a pedel crank and sprocket with a freewheel so the pedels wont go when the motor turns on

  • torque is all about gearing. i rode it down the road, went about 10 mph, depending on hills. power in bats is the ONLY limitation. i played with 18 volt bats and got a little more out of 1/3rd hp motor but yes, 1/3rd hp is not enough to realy enjoy an electric bike.

  • @Somedood200 keep in mind the controllers for these drills were never ment to be used in this way.

  • i have a nice GIANT, ride all over the place on bike-trails. i still have schwin in video. it has a 24V john deer alternator on it. i lost interest when i could not get enough HP out of weed-eater engine to run alternator. still want an electric hub and lithium bats for GIANT. cars, houses, and riding lawnmowers must be for foolish and lazy people also, using your stupid analogy.

  • @donbucato May I ask, what are you doing watching this video if you're against them?

  • That's cool, but the speed is rather scary!

  • are the components you got free normally the most expensive ones?

  • fuck you bitch. no way that this thing will give enough torque do drive your big ass on the road

  • cool, keep it up, watch your legs..... but nice going...

  • are u seling this

  • maybee You can use ghetto pedals

  • to ALL- yes i have bike. it is in a pile in garage.it has 24 volt tractor alternator attached from when i was trying to use weed-eater motor to power bike electricly. 1/3 hp engine did not cut-it. yes it is suppose to be an idea on how to make very cheap electric bike. limits are your abilities! it slows enough from pushing body weight that pedaling is not a problem.

  • the pedals will break your legs :S

  • Are you selling this?

  • i thought about that, "dimmer switch" bike is piled in a corner, dont matter.

  • Replace that switch with a dimmer switch so you can control the speed of the electric motor...

  • Nice & Very good idea , congrat

  • LMFAO!

How in the fuck are supposed to pedal that fast?

  • and tell me , where i put my foots

  • That pedal was what actually called "Sport"

  • Get a freewheel if you still have this or are continuing into these mods. google sick bike parts. Peace

  • NICE JOB, so the switch is either on or off, no throttle control? Thx

  • Nice.

  • you should invest in a 7 dollar electric throttle and 5 dollar free rolling petal gears.

  • pedals of DEATH!

  • im doin it! just with out the damn pettals

  • im doin it!

  • i hope your legs can move that fast hahahhahah

  • you need to improve the gear ratio if you want some real work off this

I would also suggest attaching the mechanism top the rear wheel which already has an in built freewheeling system.

Also cut down on the power to the motor you dont want to have 350W on something with normal brakes 50-100 watt would be best. You can also look up pulse width modulation for speed control instead of using a rheostat.

  • @justmesujoy or i can let it stay piled in the corner of garage...

  • @Somedood200 That would be a shame.

  • DEADLY!

  • $30 Deathmobile

  • Lol, , so how long ago did the thing bike chain snap?

  • @ganjar420 the chain never snapped. its still piled in garage with both chains attached. i remember getting that chain perfectly straight (i got lucky).

  • @Mrsevvo, ROFL !!! EVERYTIME I THOUGHT OF THIS IT MADE ME LAUGH ! MADE MY DAY !

  • Please watch:

THE WORLD'S SIMPLEST TRANSMISSION for BICYCLE

  • @TABAGfrancis what transmission?

  • @RAT1969 i was proud of the light-switch on/off

  • 摩打可以安裝在後輪上 吾會更好啲

  • yeah too bad you can ride the bike unless you remove the damn pedals.

  • @UntoldSecrets1 yes, thats why its not feasable as putting more than $50 in it looses the affordability.

  • ohh, like yamaha R1 turbo...

  • thats less than 1HP

  • @monstercameron i think it is 1/3 rd hp engine? i was going to find a bigger if i kept messing with it.

  • the problem is that the pedal crank keeps spinning while u go and thats dangerous when ur turning

  • really amazing

  • look my bicycle it's same motor ! but i still can pedal or not if i want ^^ your pedal turn too fast !!!

i have 35O watts motor to sell too

  • @pochul motors too small

  • were do u live if u live in valley station 40272 or some were close to that then we might have a deal

  • @codynate2009 45385 area

  • All silly stuff. As if I need a bicycle with an electric motor....

  • What's the top speed on that??? 150mph? That wheel is smoking.

  • i have an image of you sitting in the air while's the bike is already on a mountain. that tire is fast man.

  • remove the pedals :)

  • If you had found the bike for free, this would have been a $5.50 electric bike. Wait, if you had also gotten the switch for free, this would have been a free electric bike! Wait... if you had also found $2 on the sidewalk, this would have been a -$2 electric bike!

  • @CmdrBlop your are correct, i was got screwed paying anything for that schwin, i got 4 or 5 bikes left over from kids moto-cross days. "yes, i get-it", good one,...

  • @CmdrBlop IT DOES explain itself well in the vid. description...

    so funny... but not... really...

  • holy shit! You should have run it to a bicycle engine cog on the other side so you don't break your leg.

  • you should put a resistor(some kind of dimmer) to control the speed.

    other than that, great bike.

  • very very miseading title .

  • @deidara633

    title's all right

  • @deidara633 ummm? its a bike with electric motor that is functional as i have ridden in 5 or 6 times, and i paid $30,... "how is that misleading?"

  • @Somedood200 ehh the bike , the batteries , that would add cost lol

  • @Somedood200 It's misleading because the title makes it sound as if you are telling people how to get/make an electric bike for 30 dollars

  • @Somedood200 it's misleading because the pedals are still being driven by the motor, if you tried to rest your feet on the pedals you'd probably stall the motor and flip yourself onto the street. You need to be driving the cassette, not the front chain ring.

  • Be sure to sign up as an organ donor before you take it out on the road.

  • nice that bike Flying.

  • I'm not quite sure on how you have two chains attached to the gears near the pedals.

Does the chain from the motor go on one gear and the chain for the rear wheel go on another gear?

    Wouldn't they rub?

    Thanks!

  • @milespapineau as i remember, i welded two sprockets together, the electric motor chain is much smaller than the bicycle chain. i put spacers of some sort in between both sprockets. rubbing chains with the least thing i was worried about.

  • @Somedood200 You should be worried about getting a haircut, so you can see where the fuck you're going, before you eat shit on that!

  • cant he just remove the pedals, mound the switch on the bars and blip the throttle?

  • you'd fly right off this thing as soon as your turned it on. neat tho.

  • Let's see, now what is that term they use in showbiz to say good luck?

    Oh yeah, I remember now...

    "break a leg"

  • I Love the graphics (sarcasm]

  • to finish the job, you should have welded some knives onto those pedals too, just for that added special touch

  • @qupky4 lmaooo

  • those pedals spinning like that is definitely shin burger city.

  • hahhahaha shin burger, that's great

  • @MrSevvo retard if your feet are on the pedals they dont spin like that

  • @maddenzack you really need to look at the way its built. i know my bikes. if you put your feet on the pedals, and start that motor spinning, your feet will be thrown off and there will be a SHIN BURGER.

  • that's cool... i'd take the pedals off if you're intending to ride it

  • omg this is lame no speed controller and a weak engine poor design

  • its a $30 bike if i was going to make one i wouldn't either. its not needed like the motor is(if your going to make a Ebike)

  • where do u get a motor like that

  • it is only like 300 - 400watts with 24 volts it will go fast with less than 150 lbs on it it would run out of power within 20 min ( 750 volts is 1 hp)

  • (746 Watts per Horsepower)

  • i wouldn't like to get hit by those pedals

  • remove the crand and put pegs in place

  • I agree with several posters in that :

    1) Take the pedals off,

    2) Very Interesting and

    3) Your going to die if you ride that.

  • @InsanityHere LOL, For sure.

  • @InsanityHere lol wow that made me laugh till i cryed

  • @InsanityHere true, but at least hes smart enough to build the thing. i wouldnt insult this guys intelligence,im sure he is aware of all the issues and risks and whatever he needs to do to finalize it.

  • No freewheeling? Your legs will come off !

  • You're going to die if you ride that. >.>

  • you need a 110v dimmer switch. o.o

  • those are for ac

  • sell me it

  • i used an 18 volt dc moter from a drill and some gears

  • take the pedals off

  • Comment removed

  • Can I still get 1

  • Try a blender motor. I had a friend offer me two free blenders because he was moving, and they were 450W each (same as a Currie EZIP).

  • Very interesting!

  • lo quiero ver jalando

  • cool video.you see the car neil young is converting to electric the lincvolt?check it out on youtube

  • wouldn't that hurt your feet like FUCK xD

  • i went with a phoenix hub motor im running@36 volts.woth 20 amp hr batterys i can go 22 mph with no peddling and go 25 miles before i need a recharge.i have about 3000 miles on my bike with no problems.

nice ride u have there u should show a video of it smoking the tire hahaha

  • Sounds Good, Sounds like exacly what i would have built but my mind has went in-to electric Motorcycle/Car. Just waiting on other projects to get out of the way and finances.

  • What kind of battery setup do you have? Lead acid batteries or Lithium ion? 25 miles is super range on an ebike and is actually hard to believe. I have a currie ezip and it's a great bike but the 24v 10amp setup can hardly do 8 miles range.

  • I was actually asking the question of ez3usx2 but my reply is below Somedood200's post, at least as I'm viewing it right now.

  • Ha, you forgot to hook up the controller and throttle so you can vary the speed like a throttle. Just and on and off switch? No wonder this is just another goofy Youtube video of a motorized bike that the rider would never dare to actually ride.

  • I did ride it and would have rode it longer but the Bats i had, sucked. Did not want to put the money in bats otherwise it would not be a $30 bike... But, Yes, it is another goofy u-tube video.

  • for the throttle you need a clucth aswell you cant just hook up a throttle it doesnt work like that

  • Unless you put a freewheel crank on it, your feet will be pedaling as fast as the bike or you'll have to foolishly hold your legs out of the way. Better to just cut the pedals off.

  • Yes, I was looking for a free-wheel mechanism that goes in crank-shaft. Like a Ross 10-speed from the 70's , Other a freakin deisel school-bus project got in the way.

  • @limeytrash

    What about a dual-sided hub?

  • Can you please tell me where you got your 24 volt 350 watt motor? Is this a brush or brushless motor? How did you adapt the sprocket to the motor? How much did the motor cost you. Where could you buy a motor that is 1000 watt dc

  • I got the 24 v motor off a scooter that a friend took out of someones trash. It is brushed. I bolted the big sprocket from the scooter onto the crank-sprocket then welded a plate perfectley 90 deg. to crank onto that angled bar behind front wheel. Then bolted 24 V motor onto plate and put tinney chain on it. The motor was free from friend (Garbage find). There are lots of e-bike sites. I would save your penny's and get a brushless hub that goes in-place of your front wheel / front axle.

  • @alienpatentoffice U can use plain scooter 24V/200W for ebaike and run it at 36V. My puts out 600W.

  • Janky!

  • It just needs a free wheel on the pedals. Look at sick bike parts, they sell on for a gas bike.

  • TY, i have been wondering where/how to find one. Can only remember the Ross 10-speeds from the 70's had those.

  • you only have to put an bettery on to youre dynamo and voila - you got en electric bike ...:-)

  • Would that really work though?

  • no idea .....

  • take out the peddles and put like pegs there instead so it wont kill ur leg

  • wonder how much it wud hurt if the peddle hit you

  • Looks pretty cool.. but I wouldn't ride that thing unless you could control the speed LOL

  • what type of battery is it? is two 12 volt?

  • i think those are the ones from razor mini bikes so 12 volt making a 24 volt system

  • yes. small ones 16 ah

  • i wanna buy it, is it for sale?

  • you should make your own, there are plenty of 'how to's' plus its cheap, and recycling of old starter motors :)

  • starter motors? ever felt the heat off of those? not to mention how inefficient they are. the gearing change would be a nigh-mare and they weigh about 50 Lbs....

  • lol, i just wanna see someones feet on those pedals when he gives it the beans!!

  • Yes , it is in my garage in pieces as i never figured-out how to mount a 3hp brigs on it to run the 24v generator. It now has a 24v John-Deer alternator on it.

  • Hey if your interested I could buy your design and you could send it to me as a pdf.I am waiting for a guy on youtube that is labeled fastest e-bike on the planet that can 60 miles an hr but he hasn't gotten back to me on the specifics.

  • design?, how about free,... mount a 24 volt motor on frame and run chain to front- sprocket and attach batteries.

  • Hey if your interested I could buy your design for a fee, theres another that has a design like yours that can go 60 miles anhr but he hasn't gotten back to me.I really want to make this but I nedd details on the design, parts, where to buy, if certain geometry is needed and any fabricating, thanks.

  • can i buy one from you?

  • you can buy the one pictured, it is in pieces, no batteries, and missing front or back tire? motor and chain is still mounted,. $30 and its yours. You have to pick it up in lower-left-ish Ohio.

  • lol soooooooooooo sweeeeeeeet

  • its gonna chop your foot off....

  • i would like to know how you made the bicycle and how long does the bicycle go before charge, thanks.

  • with a welder. depends on ah of batteries but normally about a mile before it gets too slow to make it up any hill with two 16ah batteries.

  • whats that for a electric engine? (motor)

  • 24v china scooter mounted to lower frame w/ chain driving front sprocket next to fron sprocket (two gears attached)

  • he could remove the pedals , but then it wouldn't be legally classified as a bicycle .

  • Hellow, buddy, wanner have a ebike, have a look of my bolg, full of all kinds of electric bicycle, foldable, Mountain ebike! and maintenance. please search "lilyebike" by google

  • REMOVE THE PEDALS

  • Simply remove the arms of the bike and replace with somthing stationary id recommend welding somthing.

  • i did not know bicycles have "arms",, if they do? where are they?

  • kkkkkkkkkkkk

how you gona get your foots on the pedal?

  • you move them very fast, lol...j/k
