@corpcoup I couldn't agree with you more about Bobby. A fantastic voice, versatile, and yet if you mention him in conversation, hardly anyone knows him. It's one of the annoying things about the music industry , how they routinely seem to under expose or totally ignore great talents like Bobby.
This is undoubtedly a singer's singer with endless appeal. He runs the gamut from big band to standards to rhythm & blues to smooth jazz without ever compromising his God given talent.
Bobby is perhaps the most underrated american singer over the last 50 years ! The swagger of Bobby Darin, phrasing like Frank Sinatra, the power of Tony Bennett, and the smoothness, range and soulfulness of his own outstanding voice ! I really hope that someday he will receive the national media attention he has deserved for way too long ! He is an american musical treasure !
blue condition ha he@$ yea love it i would difenetly recommend it to the brown eyed people AND THOSE THAT FEEL THEIR EYES ARENT REFLECTIONS OF THE SKY NOW AFTER ALL THAT RAIN!!!! -P.S. I LOVE YOU
I bought my first Bobby Caldwell album when I was 17 (which is 27 years ago.) I remember trecking to over to the Record Theatre and buying his album along with Patty Labelle, Rufus & Chaka Kahn, Frank Sinatra and and old blue note album by Dinah Washington. I feel so sorry for kids today ... no wonder there are so few real talents and they all use autotune. They have never heard real singing ... or great vocal arranging.
Does it get any better than this? Caldwell's version is the best of all the others. Love that big band sound, and the piano is just too good. I'll have to hit the replay button now.
@EFBoler : Say, that's a good idea. I think I will, thank you. After all, this is the best version of this song I've ever heard so, why not? It's a great motivational song, too.
