I like your Shelter series. I'm planing to make a semi permanent shelter myself. Your videos and ideas motivated me to improve my personal camp spot. Thanks and I will appreciate any comments you might have
Thats a fantastic ! But sadly i cant build such a complex thing as the local walkers / hikers / kids, tend to find it funny distroying it. It's happend so many times in the past so now i dont bother and just make somthing simple
excellent design, but if i were to build it, i would've brought some tarpaulin just for some more weather proofing.(yeah, i know thats cheating) lol :P
I'm realy interested in seeing how well the shelter with stands some winter months. Could you post a video of how the shelter is holding up with snow?
Wezo, as others have said, very nicely done. I have learned alot from you and I appreciate your efforts. Please continue and make some more videos. your fans are waiting.
Wow! What more can I say? Your brilliant WEZ, a great attitude towards your bushskill/craft and a great teacher!!! You and Ray Mears should consider coming to Canada and doing some multi day work shops as I would love to be your student! Cheers sir!!!
Cable ties you can buy them in lengths from 5" to 5', they come in packs of 100 for as little as a couple of dollars, and you can carry 500 in a back pack and still have the 200yards of Para Cord. Two question please how long does the pine thatching last before it needs changing and how long does the heat from the hot rocks last before the need reheating?
this shelter is by far the best ive seen on you tube. you explain everything to a "T"
i still cant over the cable tie idea, its fantastic! furthermore no loud heavy metal music
perfect, just the sounds of nature the best way to make an instructional video and far enough away from a road (no traffic sound). I wish there was a rating for videos on you tube i would give yours 500%. as i said before the cable tie idea is the best.
This is great stuff for just going out and camping especially if you want to just live off the bush for few days and live comfortably. but while some of the principles are valid these are pretty extreme and in a real survival situation avoid big elaborate shelters as well keep the fire much closer to the shelter and use as much of that heat as possible. he is losing alot of the heat of that fire and in the it will eat alot of the fire/fuel.
Most videos show shelters which, although effective, make me cringe at wanting to spend more than the minimal time in them. Yours actually looks cozier and more elegant than most tents I've been in. I'll be practicing your shelter next time I'm up at camp. Great job on your video and thanks for sharing and inspiring!
@TheAdironDoc I would make the roof a little steeper if you are expecting rain or bad weather, that thing will leak otherwise. I like this style of shelter the best though, with a nice long fire in front of it to keep you nice and warm.
the one thing if u came bck u would have to replace the pine baws. but dude u rock and keep up the amazi ng work i will probably make one for my huntng camp jst for the fun of it. thanks
Do you do any long term, a week or more, hiking? Would love to see you wit these skills in action over the long term. Here in America, a lot of areas forbid this sort of woodcraft but there are many things here you could put to good use on the trail, staying someplace differernt every night. Hope you do some videos on packing into the wild country this summer. Would be a pleasure to see. Thanks partner.
the only thing i would have done is made the fire longer and less circular and put a heat reflector up made with logs to get the heat circulating round me
@loosertubesucks moron must be a big word for you your just a smart arse teenager hiding behind a computer screen you dont know anything about bushcraft you low life loser
Wow! I just got done watching these, that is amazing! I'm going to try this some time, I've seen Surviviorman do something like this except he didn't have a roof, A+ for the roof top! that was awsome work! I subscribed.
Hi, great vids butt, I'm guessing i'm not so far from you judging by your accent...
Love the wood your in, your lucky to have that sort of access and freedom to do that scale of woodcraft. If you ever want a bit of company when you are out then PM me... I'd love the opportunity and i'm guessing were around the same age, but I'm more of a born again bushcrafter after a 30 yr break for family, work etc...so learning all over again...!
I also love your videos, it seems like the making of the shelters is what keeps you going , but after there made and you have relaxed what do you do then, also how long will the green bows last, at what point do they loose there water proofness. show us how you pass the time once your shelters are done. Do you enjoy cooking are wood carving? I am still new to your site so some of these may be aready explained. See ya around the campfire Dave
Great videos! I especially liked the series on long term wilderness shelter. You make it look so easy. Thanks for explaining each step as you went along.
Please post more videos sir we really love all your bushcraft videos and I was thinking if u could show us on making a shelter above the ground which can be used as shelter for a longer period .... And god bless you sir for sharing your knowledge
Great vid, im going to make one just lik that with another one in the front, four "A" chairs, two in each side to form a circle, a big fire in the middle to warm everybody up..... THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge you are a 5*stars bushmaster
Nice! at first i was wondering whats with cable ties. but it just makes sense. quick and easy with no knots. I love the leanto but will never make one again, unless its summer. i live in the rockies where weather can turn below freezing at most times of the year. getting up off the floor is such a nice feature of any shelter for sure!
I AM VERY IMPRESSED ,AND VERY PRACTICAL TOO. AND ITS FAR THE BEST IVE SEEN . THANK YOU AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND ONE LAST THING THANK YOU FOR THE KNOWLEDGE .....
I really loved this! But I think we could all put our heads together and learn from each other. One thing I would like to add is; 'I never latch to standing timber. If this is going to be a long long term shelter. I've found that the force of the trees moving constantly, tends to loosen everything. No latching can stand up to the the force of a tree. So I use tripods only. It is completely independent. That way doesn't matter what the trees do. But still an awesome video. Thanks for listening.
Great teacher! Well done! I really enjoy the attitude you have. I have learned a lot. Thank you so much for your time and for you sharing your knowledge and yourself. God bless!
I woke up at 4 am and started watching your videos I love them they are great thank you sir for your time and hard work ... We need more people like you sharing their wisdom , once agin thank you and may God bless ...

Thanks partner.

you could build a wall oposite the shelter to make a reflector for the fire and would keep you much warmer.
ukguy 10 months ago
the only thing i would have done is made the fire longer and less circular and put a heat reflector up made with logs to get the heat circulating round me
7obscenity7 10 months ago
Those rocks stay warm for 20 mins only moron. What are you gonna do change rocks every 20 mins all night? Lol

Great videos. Thanks for passing along the knowledge.
What kind of knots were you using to attach the
shelter's cross-members? Clove Hitch with paracord?
brgzz 1 year ago
I also love your videos, it seems like the making of the shelters is what keeps you going , but after there made and you have relaxed what do you do then, also how long will the green bows last, at what point do they loose there water proofness. show us how you pass the time once your shelters are done. Do you enjoy cooking are wood carving? I am still new to your site so some of these may be aready explained. See ya around the campfire Dave

Nice! at first i was wondering whats with cable ties. but it just makes sense. quick and easy with no knots. I love the leanto but will never make one again, unless its summer. i live in the rockies where weather can turn below freezing at most times of the year. getting up off the floor is such a nice feature of any shelter for sure!
