  • Hah! I love the "In a Mirror, Darkly" MSD running on the small station screen behind Kirk!

  • Wow really nicely done, the live action shots really live up to what I would expect from the cgi. Side note the fella playing Chekov is doing just an incredible job I mean really it fooled me at first in the long shots. Once again really nice and I would love to see more from this team.

  • Pretty darn good actually. The actor doing Kirk is pretty good, but just looks wrong. The actor doing Spock... well, I was taught to say nothing if I couldn't say anything nice. Of course the graphics, sound and music is excellent. Very well done indeed.

  • This Action, Danger ,Tension and Excitement is why the Next Generation Bombed out in the Long Run

  • Wow the Battle between the ships is fairly epic i love it.

I can't say much about the rest i mostly prefer ship battles, But i imagine this took a long time to put together.

Would really love to see more Tos battles :)

  • Better graphics than the CBS "remastered" version.

  • My God, this is like an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise with hull damage, explosions on the bridge, warm plasma venting from the nacelles...

  • ok.. what exactly are we seeing here? i mean, was this some computer geeks wet dream or was/is this actually going to be something.I ask these things cause really, this is pretty good.acting was a little hammy, but then again so was the original.love the fx an sounfx.get this right an you could have lighting in a bottle here.

  • I swear the klingons are the "Enterprise Killer." Think about it, both Enterprises (Refit and D) were destroyed by the klingons and Enterprise - A was badly damaged. Lets face it Enterprise< Klingons.

  • @Joeyran1819 Well, Technically, the Refit Enterprise was destroyed by Captain Kirk, not the Klingons. LOL. That was a self destruct. :p

  • captain, it seems star trek has been infected by a homo element.

being male gay is of course wrong and so clearly exemplified by the sick need to make everything about being gay.

from a secular evolutionary perspective male homo is a defect, from a christian spiritual perspective it is an abomination. exactly what sound perspective warrants using star trek as a vehicle for homosexual promotion..

  • A lot of wooden acting..can see this boldy going down the toilet..

  • Please tell me Chekov didn't call the enterprise a curova.

    What is a curova anyway?

  • They should have got THAT guy to play Chekov in the new film! The actor in the Abrams' version sucks.

  • This is better than JJ's piece of crap!

  • Very Very Nice!

  • i have to say i got used to the previous spock, but brandon pulls it off well. Im curious to see how the new Sulu is, John was the MAN!

  • The New Star Treks are awesome well done special Effect,s and love the use of the origanel series Ships and sound effects liked both Spocks but wish they could keep a constant one . James protrael of Kirk well done on his own

  • Young homosexuals: your strong gay-pride bolsters your strength & gaiety! You'd better watch out for A.I.D.S. though! Our Spirits are timeless & ageless. Our physical bodies are temporary vessels. Our mechanisms know no textual imperfections.

  • LOL! "Stop rolling, you big lumbering korova!"

  • Who the FUCK CARES!!!!!

Just feel sorry for those whom are infected with the HIVs virus/ AiDs!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh my god, kill me now...

  • Trekmovie is the worst site around, they dont allow you to speak your mind about all the flaws this web series has.

even if you post a comment that is balanced and presents both postives and negatives. they focus on the negatives.

and it doesnt matter that you arent rude or writing vulgar or nasty remarks. if its negative towards this stupid show they remove your comment.

  • condoms; enemies of AIDS

  • What the fuck? Have the makers of this video never heard of artificial gravity?

  • "Of those who didn't speak up?" People are constantly taliking of the health risks of homosexual behavior. The arguements are shouted down by gays as being "intolerant". The word is out there.

  • I do prefer the older theme music to the new ones.

  • OMG I love Star Trek Phase 2.

  • This isn't a teaser. It's the opening act to the episode.

  • The opening of an episode that leads into the themesong and credits is called a "teaser". You're thinking "promo" or maybe "trailer". Trek Movie used the correct term.

  • dont like the whole gay premise..otherwise meh...was ok

  • It's just a minor plot device in this webisode.

  • Wow I've never seen the Enterprise from the original series that heavily damaged (exept in video games). Not even in "Balance of Terror" or in "To serve all my days"

  • that's the point. The modern TOS enterprise has been significantly reduced in battle sturdiness.

  • that's terrible.

  • i try very hard to like it, but i have to concur

  • thanks

  • Exciting stuff, but that scripting still needs work, some of those lines are pants!

Like the new Mr Spock though.

  • thats ironic, i quite liked how they anthropomorphised (anthropobovined?) the ship with those lines, invoking that special relationship between driver and car (cow?). And Kirk's resolute defiance at the end seemed most in character (as did Chekov's previous puzzled retort).

Yep and the Spock was good cooly delivering the facts.

So i guess the script worked for me ok ;)

  • Anyone else notice the Star Wars sound effect at 1:13?

  • not me.

  • nacelles (probably spelt wrong) rupture then the whole ship goes boom.

  • holy cow 1 D7 can do that kind of damage to the enterprise. Right nacelle badly damaged, multiple hull breach. The Enterprise should'e fired more torpedoes. :)

  • It looks more like a K'T'Inga to me.

  • all I know is one ship can't do that to the enterprise.

  • Perhabs, perhabs not. But it's hard to establish since battle scene creators usually follow this golden rule: "Screw logic, the drama is what matters".

  • well my perfect counter to this is it's been shown in TOS that the enterprise can manhandle a D7. In the that episode troyus of elan. The Enterprise is on emergency power and withstands a fully powered D7s assault (disruptors). When the enterprise finally re-energized they fire a volley of torpedoes and the D7 is crippled. It's weird in this battle scene the enterprise never fired a single torpedo.

  • It was a good idea, but wrong execution of said idea. I would like to have seen everything completely overhauled, to bring it into the modern era. Maybe make the Doomsday machine look less like a windsock covered in cement for one.

  • I'm pissed. SERIOUSLY pissed.

Know why? (Don't care? Eh, I'll tell ya anyway ;) )

I'm mad because "B&F" won't be ready for so damned long! :D

Seriously, this how I've always imagined "modernized" TOS starship combat. That clip is just freakin' awesome.

  • CGI quality has really improved, looks better than star trek remastered even

  • It's still weird to me to think that Merritt Buttrick is dead.

Long live Johnny Slash aka Kirk's son!

  • Big lumbering moose I loved it.

  • We do try!! Hope you enjoyed the Teaser... episode on the 20th Dec!

    Robert from STP2

  • There are so many contradictions and problems with Star Trek 'continuity' that I don't mind a new TOS-era movie being made. Plus, the old set would never stand up today. Unless Paramount (and any of you new-movie-haters) wants Star Trek to completely die, it's a good thing that they've modernized it. Sets like what they use in the new movie would have been used in the 60's if they had been available, but they did the best with what they had at the time, just as Abrams is doing. Go new Trek!

  • i agree but there is still a differace

  • (sorry) a difference between modernizing and making it ugly

  • Other than their being something in the movie's plot to explain the.. discrepinces, keeping the formula EXACTLY the same for a new film would be terrible.

  • only terrible for business lol

  • Hmm, your probably right! But I hope I'm right in saying that making a Star Trek film that EXACTLY follows what has been laid down in 'continuity' would be a waste of time for the makers and fans alike.

  • yes, i think you're right too. Its a personal quirk i guess: i always wanted to live in that old star trek world, but i will be intrested in the differences they come up with: maybe we'll end up with two star trek universes. Thats fine with me ;) (of course muliverses are a common theme in star trek too so i can't complain lol )

Ah well, back to the vid tapes ;)

  • Incredible: i've changed my mind, the new trailer just sold me and i'm embracing all the changes for the new insight it will provide me into the star trek legend!

    You were right ;)

  • Glad your happy with what you've seen!

But don't say I'm right till you've seen the film - it could still turn out to be terrible due to all of the changes.

    But hopefully not!

  • well said, spoken like a true starfleet empericist. Lets see whats out there ;) - conclusions without the evidence is... illogical! yes, you are right again ;)

  • Now thats a ship that could take a beating!

  • Really bad timing on the humor.

  • Holy frakk!!!

    When does it come out???

  • Thank god for James Cawley. Why Paramount didn't have him take over the franchise, I don't know. I just saw the new enterprise (USS ABRAMS) and I can't believe JJ Abrams replaced the NCC-1701 with that monstrosity ..... anyway, James, seeing that nacelle on fire made my day.

    Thanks.

  • The dedication does not make sense."Those few who had the opportunity to speak up...and did not" So they are also dedicating this to those who did nothing?? I'm confused.

  • It's dedicated to those that lost their lives due to those that did not take action.

  • Kirk:

I've never trusted Klingons, and I never will. I'll never forgive them... for running away like chickenshit bastards!

  • I love that! LOL ROTFL

  • I could care less about JJ's flick, I just want to see more of THIS!

  • Wow, looks great. I agree this 'fan' productions keep getting closer to the original show. The direction felt like the TOS and I would like to comment on the music score. New Voyages to its credit lifted TOS sound track, but in my view it was a little over bearing in the way the incorporated it. But in this teaser its perfect. The opening was as good (or better) than anything in the original show. Thanks Mr. Cawley and all.

  • Yes they are getting better with every episode. Can't wait for 2009 productions.

  • kayAbee:

Part of Star Trek has always been examining contoversial political issues of the present. One thing about science fiction is that it provides a neutral setting to examine these issues. Racism, terrorism, addiction, individualism vs collectivism, mutually assured destruction, homosexuality. All rather politically charged topics that have been covered over the course of the various canon star trek series.

  • Forever we will remeber that now there are 50 million people infected with AIDS. Now go.

  • I know. And I said I'm sorry to hear that. How many of them are infected due to gay sex?

  • Moot point. BTW, how many of them are infected due to unprotected sex as in without the use of the condom? Realize one fact: to be gay is not a choice no matter what your opinion of it is. Realize also that being infected with sexually transmitted diseases has everything to do with the fact that someone does unprotected sex, no matter what one's sexual orientation is. Frankly, your reasoning is sensationalist and flawed. There are at all times, more heterosexual people in the world... biology!!!

  • Right! Biology means male-female monogamous sex to procreate. BIOLOGY!

  • Your self-appointed purpose to male-female copulation is irrelevant. You are not assimilation material. Biology is what tells us that being homosexual is not a choice, while other ways of scientific thought give us a way to assign purpose, in this case, male-demale reproduction is a biological fact, while the purpose is assigned by us. Biological processes don´t have a purpose, but instead emerging systems are what characterize biology. AIDS is a mutated virus from some apes or monkeys.

  • So I'll therefore directly ask - what evidence are you aware of that points to homosexuality being intentional and non-genetical? I am aware of none. What kind of paradign are you akin to, some form of religious dogmatism that convinces you to hate homos? Or an uncommon (among the scientific community of which I'm no relevant part) stance that sees homosexuality as the source of all venerial diesases. I claim not to be pseudo-intellectual... My views are in line with valid intellectualism.

  • I am a biologist, and you are wrong.

  • I don't like doing this, but this responding sure is addictive.

  • it could be argued that "where no man has gone before" could mean to actively seek out and boldly go to the place of new solutions for old problems we've always had but have always traditionally and cuturally been brainwashed to 'turn the other cheek' from.

It could mean to dare to overcome the crippling prejudices that have stulted the evolution of our species and curtailed our abilities and faculties to explore strange new worlds.

Sometimes i wonder if we're watching the same show! lol ;)

  • That description certainly sounds like the original Star Trek, who could forget the controversy over the interracial kiss? Gene Roddenbury intended to introduce non-heterosexual characters into Star Trek before his death, unfortunately the people who took over after he died weren't nearly so keen on the idea and it never happened (DS9 mirror universe and kissing Trills episodes so don't count).

  • yes, i guess the mainstream will always have pressure to conform to where the makers thought the profit was (the original poster of this thread belongs to a materially rich vien of society that has learnt how to coopt resources).

Fortunately 'slash' fiction was invented and Gene's vision lives on. (and btw, i really liked the new film ;)

  • Fantastic! Phase 2 aka new voyages just keeps on getting better. The last webisode set the bar for fan made star trek - i think it's going to get higher. Mr Cawley i thank you from every classic trek fan who's had to wait nearly 40 years to be enthralled again.

  • Very well done!!!! 100/100.

  • absolutely cool!! The crew of this show has come a long ways since their first episodes and they only keep getting better and better.

  • Is it me or did the Enterprise's phaser beams look kind of bent up in one of the last two shots of the battle? :)

  • Good eye! The part of the beam that you see through the cloaking Klingon vessel is warped buy the cloaking effect.

  • Get rid of that urologist, John Kelley playing McCoy and you'll have a MUCH better show.

  • is he related to deforrest?

  • why do you refer to him as a urologist? I think he does a good enough job.

  • Kelley is an ACTUAL urologist in real life. And while I think he may be putting some of his own money into this worthy project, I myself just don't think he makes that good a McCoy.

  • That was very awesome. I think this would make a very good TV series, way better then Enterprise. But if it is made for TV it should take place after Star Trek:TMP. Because there is a 15 year gap between the first 2 movies. which would have room for a lot stories and tie those 2 movies together.

  • This looked really awsome. You people have done a great job once again, and please keep up the great work. I enjoy this very much.

  • The special effects are wonderful!!! The look, texture, and apperance of the sets and costumes are just right. Keep up the wonderful work!

  • why'd they replace Spock? the new one sucks

  • I like the new spock, he resembles the original better. The older spock just didnt cut it for me, his face was too narrow. Plus you can't judge a guy for less than 30 seconds of dialoge.

  • Spock was replaced because this is a fan-made series

  • And a good one if I may add.

The man who plays Chekov in that video looks like Walter Koenig.

  • the guy who plays chekov should be him in the new jj adams film he looks the image of walter.

love new voyages / phase 2 can't wait to see the full episode.

very big insperation for fan films they set the mark with out a doubt, a111111111111111111

star trek the first missions. we live in the shadow of phase 2.

  • In the scaly yellow shirt the new Chekov looks like Aquaman.

This Chekov IS a lot better suited visually. And Cawley seems more Shatner-like than Pine.

My biggest dissapointment is that the ST 11 bridge looks NOTHING like this. I dont have very high hopes for the outside of the ship after seeing the USS Kelvin.

  • HOLY CRAP!!!! AWSOME!!

  • The dude who plays Chekov is so perfect.

  • lol. "Not 'moose'. 'Cow'."

  • Starfleet is closed due to AIDS.

  • OH YEAH! Great teaser intro, loved it! The new episode should be up any day now!

  • Really! I've been waiting for this since February

  • Looks great. would love to see this on TV .

  • Absolutely fantastic. I wish this was on TV these days.

  • Looking great guys! Can't wait!

  • It is amazing how far they've come. Acting, writing, set design, effects...all show great improvements over the earlier stuff.

  • i agree, the look and feel of it readily draws one into the cherished universe of TOS. I so glad to visit that place again!

  • Keep up the good work guys. Very well done!!!!

  • I love the AIDS introduction. It is fair that something is actually being done about it.

I also love that action sequence. It sort of reminds me of Dominion War battles on DS9, only with two ships instead of a hundred.

  • Great!

  • WOW!

Now that looks awesome. Cawley is at the top of his game, finally hes become more Kirk than Shatner-very well done.

And a solid logical reason for the 5 yr refit

    can't wait!

  • Well, it really was an 18 month refit, according to Scotty in ST:TMP.
