  • It's not a conspiracy theory that she was Ukrainian. Just look on Wikipedia under Ukrainians.

  • @JohnnySaiko1 Ukrainian/Soviet history is my history, thus I will teach you about MY history.

  • Anti-Fa Belgique!

  • @Genadius She was a Soviet/ukrainian soldier. Just because American media called her russian that doesn't mean that she actually was.

  • @zaporizhzhya1036

Man, don't teach us our history and who we are.

  • @Zhuravliov Are you drunk or plain stupid? USSR had 15 republics one of them was Украи́нская Сове́тская Социалисти́ческая Респу́блика, УССР

  • @genadius When did she call her self russian?

  • thank you for my freedom ladys!

  • Why are none of the fucking comments about Woody?

  • @bonapartist LOL! I suppose because some US citizens are still uncomfortable with a time when they and their Government were allied with, quel horreur, the Soviet Union. Also the right would like to pretend that the US population utterly reject the left, whereas the truth is different as Woody's song or Ludmila's reception in New York City shows.

  • She's not russian. she's ukrainian

  • @zaporizhzhya1036 but a russian soldier as she called herself

  • @zaporizhzhya1036 In USSR there's WEREN"T ucrainian. There's only russians. And it was good.

  • She is a friend of all freedom loving people. Russians are friends then and now.Thank you for your tremendous courage and sacrifice.

  • Thank you Russia for gutting the Nazi war machine.

  • Смерть фашистским оккупантам и их пособникам!

  • hoi i'am dutch without the Red Army where the nazi' s never defeated.so thank you Red Army!

  • There is something simple and unpolluted about American folk. I am Russian and I love Jerry Reed.

  • who all was on this ? Sounds like Pete Seeger , banjo / Weavers

  • But yeah. What a great song, what a great song writer. No matter what his political feelings, the beauty and emotion of his songs speaks for itself.

  • i wonder, after all of her involvemnt with united states, how it must've been like when the soviet union didn't like the united states anymore ? must've been strange :O

  • all you fascists will fall by her gun!

  • @midnitemover123 Jesus was a Jew. Big fucking deal. Woody Guthrie was a friend of all people and on his guitar were the words: "This machine kills fascists". People like you ought to have a guitar shoved up where the sun doesn't shine.

  • God bless all Allied Soldiers! Thank you Veterans!

  • @AungusMacgyver You mean 141 communists watched this,and 5 nazis wathed it

  • @AungusMacgyver Communism has been dead for a long time. Canada is a model of a socialist society and it takes care of its people. The government fears the people because officials know they'll be voted out of office if they don't meet the people's needs. Canada is proof that socialism can work. In the US all government is owned by corporations and it serves the needs of the corporations to the detriment of the people. Don't like socialism, then don't call the police or fire department.

  • @blortner Clearly you don't live in Canada. I do, and you haven't a clue about the situation here.

The quality of life here is in inverse proportion to the degree of socialism practiced by the government in power. Believe it. I live the change with every federal, provincial and municipal election.

  • @TourRoyale 7 – Vietnam Vet this Anglo asshole only speaks for his stupid low-life white trash self. I am a proud Republican from the Eisenhower mold sad turn of events for the Russian people that Trotsky was run out then murdered by Stalin we became part Socialist part Oligarchy/Plutocracy that we still are today Pay no attention to what we refer to as illiterate white trash the bane of my country - 7Th Army Command Center 101st Signal Corps Command United States Army –let the Fascist pig die

  • @persevere4 You are aware that Trotsky advocated a continuous revolution of the world proletariat, Stalin gave up on that and continued his "socialism in one state" based on the assumption that decadent capitalism would eventually be overtaken by worker revolution inevitably.

  • @RedCrayon45 - "Time" I think we are seeing that all over the Middle East and in many western countries to a lesser degree, over 100,000 in Madison, Wisconsin for the last few days and smaller groups around the USA. Marx thought America would be the model for workers rights and it is late but Hegel said time is not the issue it will come of its own I may be gone time is not the issue the time of worker world human rights, yes I said the rights, to live as humans not play toys will come

  • @RedCrayon45 "decadent capitalism would eventually be overtaken by worker revolution inevitably" It's happening right now in the US. People are tired of having the corruption of Wall Street making them poor and are rising up all over to occupy Wall Street and cities all over the US.

  • Севастополь гордится и помнит!

  • It was the Soviet Army that broke the back of my country's army and freed us from fascism.

  • any day a fascist dies is a good day in my book

  • ha ha coming from a yank? YOUR country is fascist you muppet.

You're probably some lame left-wing socialist cunt who wanks over Obama and Che Guevara and nods approvingly at coffins coming home from Afghanistan with your fellow countrymen inside them.

One cannot really account for the stupidity of the left-wing.

  • @AngloSaxon1921 You are correct. President Eisenhower warned us against the rise of the Military-Industrial Complex. Search Youtube for Eisenhower's Farewell Address to the nation. We The People have had enough. The United States is long overdue for a revolution and it's coming soon.

  • When I was a kid, they taught me how to dive under my desk in case of nuclear attack. I don't hate any Russians, or Communists. They lie to their people, and so did our government.

  • Download the audio from this clip at searchripgrab doht cohm.

  • Four Nazis watched this video. (How can you dislike killin' nazis?)

incidentally, Woody Guthrie didn't have "communist tendencies"- he was a proud card carrying member of the CPUSA. Solidary Forever, and no war but class war.

  • of all the US soldiers in WW2 he chose to write a tribute song about a russian communist?makes you wonder his loyalties were doesnt it?

  • @MegaBearslayer Actually, you don't have to wonder. He was a communist, and regularly contributed to The Daily Worker (the CPUSA Newspaper at the time) for a while.

Plus, to give some context, the USSR had sent Pavlichenko to the US for a PR campaign to show how brave and awesome the Soviet troops were. Guthrie wrote the song in honor of her, and (iirc) played it for her. And it's worth mentioning that CPUSA was still taking orders from Stalin at the time...

  • @Proletarian Rage I had heard once of his communist tendencies, I think his song "this land is our land" had a verse or two that were extreme and he removed them in the McCarthy era. thanks for the reply

  • @MegaBearslayer Loyalties? She was anti-nazi as was the US. And female US snipers responsible for 300+ kills was in short supply.

  • @lektrum why not a song about Audie Murphy? Or the Sullivan brothers? the Marines who raised the flag on Iwo Jima? why a Russian communist?

  • @MegaBearslayer 20 million Soviets died HELPING us defeat the axis. That's fcking why!!!! Read your history you xenophobic dunce. Is the Divided States of America so much better off ?????????????

  • @keeper275 First the russians claim she killed three hundred germans, the communists are noted for lying for the purpose of propoganda what was the true number? secondly the russians were friends with the germans before they were double crossed by Hitler, if that double cross had not taken place where would we be now? Thirdly my point was why did he never write a song about an american, but about a russian communist? If you want to call names I can sling shit with the best of them.

  • @MegaBearslayer if you have the ability to read historical documents, then try to read more about that period in history. Peace treaty between Britain and German on september 30 in 1938. "Civilized and democratic" Britain and France gave Chehoslovakia to Nazi. "England has been offered a choice between war and shame. She has chosen shame, and will get war" - Cherchill. If you think that american government is innocent - read about Dawes Plan and Young Plan. Look at yourself before blaming USSR.

  • Willing to fight with the political officers gun in their back. Dont give me your propaganda comrade. If it werent for that corporal, the germans would have pushed you commies into the bearing strait..SashaVedernikov your mother should of swallowed your papa's load!

  • Cool!!!!! They were bad-ass!!!!

  • yes, TheVerinen2, look at Chernobyl....designed to fail...and the Ukrainians got shit from the Russians. Same way with the 'gaz' shortage of last several years, the USSR stole 99% of Ukrainian natural gas, and now the 'russian empire' wants to sell back. This is thievery...!

  • All that the Ukraininskiy did for the 'soviet'...just after Stalin starved 4+million of us...! Miss Pavlichenko did it for the Slavs....not for the 'soviet'.

  • @novokarpati she did for her country- soviet russia.

win of soviet russia-=many bad things for Poland, Ukraina and other countries....

  • We give the Russians credit for what they did in WWII, they were allies with the Germans until 1943, the only difference between stalin and hitler was which side they ended up on. Fuck Russia. Fuck Germany , Fuck Communism , Fuck Nazism . fuck all Isms , only peace.

  • @whythewar1

Read history literature f***ing moron! Or at least try to use wikipedia before adding such comments. German army crossed border and attacked USSR on 22 of June in 1941! I don't even try to mention your IMHO "they were allies". German was ally of USA, Britain, France... Before attacked them...

  • @TheDexp Yeah, type on the year, but the USSR HELPED Germany invade Poland, No one can say that they were the best of the three major allies.

  • @whythewar1 And Britain HELPED Germany to invade Chehoslovakia. British and French governments offered sudetenland of Chehoslovakia to German. Poland also snatched a piece of this country.

  • @TheDexp We did that because we knew that Germany was just going to invade Sudetenland anyways, we might as well do it peacefully. We never helped German in open combat like the Russians, what do you think would have happened if the Russians had helped the Poles, huh? Do you know how many Polish civilians died? How many soldiers AFTERWARDS that died? Russia saw WWII as an opportunity to invade, after the Germans attacked, The Russians created the eastern bloc? The USSR is an insult to Russia.

  • @SashaVedernikov much respect and appreciation to those who gave their lives to end fascism

  • I dont want to be anoying, but to be precise she was not a Russian but a Ukrainian sniper.

Its a common and fairly rude mistake to call anyone from USSR history or anyone from a former USSR country a russian.

  • @Xsifilad

Man you are annoying. Last 20 years there were many confrontations between Russia and Ukraine, why would you mention this here? It's good song about Hero of WWII, let's not talk here about any politics.

  • The word "fascist" refers to Mussolini's uniquely Italian futurist movement.. In a twist of history the Soviets labelled the Nazis "fascist" so as to distinguish themselves from a socialist enemy they had only recently signed a non-aggression pact with: the molotov/von ribbentrop pact.

No decent or informed person can support Communism in any form as it was the original Nazism, both ideologically and historically.

  • @TheHandsomeCrab Then how do you explain that the Molotov/Ribbentrop pact came to be only after THREE Soviet proposals for anti-nazi alliances with Great Britain, France and Poland under Litvinov went unanswered in 1937-1939?

Your knowledge of ideologies and history is disastrously poor.

Linking communism with nazism.. Wow, you're such a smart fellow..

  • @lektrum How many Orthodox Christians were killed by the Bolsheviks? You probably don't even know.

And why do you think an anti-christian nazi like power such as the Soviet Union could expect an alliance with Christian countries against an anti-christian nazi power? In any case, Stalin trusted Hitler, I bet Stalin IDENTIFIED with Hitler, which is why he dithered for so long before Barbarossa started.

If your response includes any comparison of the Allies to the Nazis, I'm not interested.

  • @TheHandsomeCrab Soviet Union was not nazi. It wasn't anti-christian in particular either, but stressed rather heavily it was a secular union. Sure, Stalin killed lots of Greek orthodox christians, but not on a religious basis.

Nazi Germany was indeed christian. Belt buckles on their uniforms were inscribed with "Gott mit uns" I'll have you know.

    Stalin did NOT trust Hitler.

  • @TheHandsomeCrab

How many Christians collaborated with the nazis?

How many nazi war criminals managed to escape through the Vatican, with the pope's full knowledge after the war?

What side did the church take in Spain during the civil war?

Who blessed the blueshirts in Ireland before they set sail for Spain?

It seems to be that religious institutions have allways sided with the right-wing, be it reactionary forces condemning people for their sexuality or outright nazis. Religion=Intolerance

  • @TheHandsomeCrab "Communism the original Nazism?" Where do you get this stuff from? Throughout the rise of Hitler's NAZI party the most worthwhile opposition within Germany came from the Communists (and what you would no doubt call their "fellow travellers").

  • @grandadspike Indeed, Hitler's regime actually made crushing Communist dissent a very high priority early on, and a lot of leftists died in the camps over the course of the war.

  • SLAVA!!

  • Bitches be crazy

  • I just found this song and it now my new favorite Woody Guthrie song

  • Man its a scary song. I am sure Woody felt it was not right for her to be what she was...

Man i would be afraid to be in the same room with her!

"Down comes the hun" - it makes me shiver... the hun could be a young conscript, unhappy as he was.

And she was a beauty who shot 300 people....

Man you could sing this song for any serial killer or a bandit also

  • >young conscript, unhappy as he was

or some guy who burned villagers in the barn, I know for sure, cause my cousin grandfather died that way during occupation. So, it is a great song

  • @passerbyru

My family also suffered from the war, boy everybody must have done... the world war... may it never happen again, amiens

  • @Kydjaa , she killed serial killers. "Young conscripts"? Primary target for snipers were officers.

  • I wonder if Dylan ever did this song? I know he knows it because he knows all Guthrie songs. Would be fun to hear Dylan doing it. I'm sure there is a copy somewhere

  • Oh Yes! I'm Russian and love Woody, and am hearing this song for the very first time. God bless that man. Let's always remember that American and Russian soldiers freed this world from fascism and slavery. Thank you Woody for this song. Our anscestors fought and died so that fascism could be forever erased from this earth.

  • @TourRoyale Americans forget how much Russian blood was spilled from the European campaign. And Russians forgot how much American blood was spilled in the Asian campaign. If the Axis won, the Nazis would have been defeated, and we'd all be speaking Japanese.

  • @TourRoyale Except that the people in the Soviet Union suffered under Communist slavery. In fact over 50 million Russians died from Stalin's authoritarianism. Fascism isn't gone from the world, either... America has adopted corporatism (Mussolini's other term for fascism) by having a union with big corporations that serve the interests of the State and supplant individual rights.

I love Woody Gutherie but I think glossing over the deaths of millions of people is pretty bad.

  • @libertyguerilla

I definetely hate communism, friend. My views on fascism have changed though. The young people calling themselves fascist today are nationalists, anti-multiculturalists, etc., people in their own lands that feel like their countrys are being invaded by foreigners. Ofcourse I'm still glad Hitler was defeated or I wouldn't be here. But these are different times.

To me this is a song of freedom, of overcoming an enemy that wanted you dead. I do understand your sentiments, tho.

  • @TourRoyale God bless you! I couldn't agree more, we hit them from the west and our Glorious Russian Brothers fought them from the east! My uncle was in the Red Army while many others from my family died on Normandy Beach! I thank all our heroic vets who fought for our freedom!

  • @TourRoyale

Who the fuck are you trying to kid you fucking pinko commie? Your people were the penultimate fascists, repressing and butchering how many millions..........? Typical lying pinko commie rat.

  • @death2pc Dude, I hate communism! Communism is a Zionist slave machine. Communism was a tool to murder Christians (I am one) and was a movement created by Zionist Jews. Both of my parents have ancestors, one murdered one imprisoned by communists. Communists tore down and robbed churches, murdered innocent people and tried to destroy the heritage and culture of any country they enslaved. Again: F*ck Communism. Am I proud that Russian and Americans fought together to defeat Hitler? Yes!

  • @TourRoyale it's a shame that we failed in the end: skinheads are proudly marching in the streets nowadays...

  • @TourRoyale Facism and slavery are still very much our present reality!

  • @blujufirst

Fascism makes a lot more sense now, and is much more accesible to people. Communism isn't better.

Communism commited the biggest mass murder of Christians in history in the year of the Russian- acctually it was a Jewish Revolution since most of the leaders were Zionist Jews. After the Bolsheviks took power anti-semitism was punishble by death as a "anti-revolutionary act", while at the same time hundreds of priests and other church figurespeople were murdered in cold blood.

  • @TourRoyale Capitalism and Communism are a false dichotomy.

i.e. two bad choices that lead to the same thing COLLECTIVISM

  • @blujufirst

I'm not very political. It's obvious that any system can be used for evil. For instance democracy. All you need is to be a majority. What is happening in America right now and in Europe? Non-white immigration to these lands is changing the demographics, and projected numbers say that whites will be out-numbered and out-voted in about 50 years, some say sooner. That is unless white people don't wake up and take actions.

I don't claim a political party and don't trust politics.

  • @TourRoyale There is no Democracy in the U.S. and hasn't been for nearly 30 years. It's an oligarchy controlled by multinational Corporations.

  • @blortner Exactly. The USA is dictatorship of capital.

  • @TourRoyale Question... What kind of action do you mean?

  • @TourRoyale We want our planes back.

  • @Hister333

    Watchu talkin' bout Willis???

  • @TourRoyale The Russians stole all of our planes that landed in their country during WWII.

  • @Hister333

Where did you get that information from? If it's true, I wold be all for returning those planes. Hopefully, the US would be alright with letting Russia keep like one or three for meuseams, etc. Remember that we were allies, and still are.

  • @TourRoyale I think he's falsely remembering the Lend-Lease aid that went to the Soviets which included American aircraft to help deal with equipment shortages in the early days of the war. They didn't 'steal' American planes, America GAVE them planes. It only happened relatively early on, once the Soviet war industry got going they were producing far more planes than we could send them.

  • @Hister333 You have some ignorance, so Soviet Union after victory in half-year war near Khalkhin Gol in 1939 concluded a treaty with Japan about limitation and neutrality, so Anti-fascist coalition had the interallied agreements as that Soviet Union must terminated agreement with Japan only after elimination of Hitler.

  • @Sergeyspb2009 Does that mean we get our planes back?

  • @Hister333 so some airplanes after the beginning of attack against Japan did to back, but you forget, as the reason of search of safety in Russia could be only damages, so greater part of airplanes could have the damages (also old airplanes could lose resource). You forget importance of happy fate of pilots to having the real help. Japan initially to hypocritically violated the any agreements. Also, Japan lost in Khalkhin Gol's sky by reason of first use of aviation rockets (later used in MLRS)

  • @Sergeyspb2009 I respect the fact that English is not your first language, and I'm not trying to make fun of you, but I have no idea what you just said.

  • @Hister333 Yes, some US planes go to back after the Russian attack against Japan. You forget, How the reason for search of safety in Russia could only breakages, so greater part of airplanes could have breakages, also old planes lose resource. You forget, about importance happy of fate US pilots as having real help in Russia. It is Japan first did to violate the agreements. But, Japan lost sky of Khalkhin Gol because Russia first in world could to use of avia-rockets (later used in MLRS-Katusha)

  • @Hister333 we want our men back

  • @heraldam Don't look at us. We didn't take them...

  • @Hister333 so demand your planes from germany ^_^

  • That machine truly killed fascists

  • HICK SONG FAIL

  • @TheFunkhouser I would just like to say that this song is not different than any other genre of music that addresses issues of injustice, violence, and discrimination. That includes Rap, and many forms of Urban music. The purpose is the same: To raise awareness.

  • Harry Truman would be SO pissed if he ever heard this song.

  • He was signing about an anti-fasist. How many women does the USA employ as snipers?

  • I love that girl., I want to marry her. How old are she now?

  • @Pehuen003 she is dead...But i wanna marry her too!

  • @Pehuen003 YOU ARE CRAZY

  • They were not fighting an Army ...But they were fighting a People No Pasaran!

  • he also hated fascist because they blew a ship out from under him ...Woody Guthrie was on the good Ruben James

  • 1:00...that's Roza Shanina, NOT Pavlichenko

  • @SashaVedernikov well said!! and Woody was in total solidarity!! Red Army soldiers would throw them selves under tanks saying "For Stalin and country" Comrade Stalin did not "force" them to do that! All glory to your great grandfather!!

  • Thanks!!!!!!

  • Yeah Hitler was bad no doubt. When the autumn of 1940 Nazis bombed English babies at London guess who had signed peace treaty with Hitler????? Stalin???

  • NO - no it was a non-aggression pact to try and buy time, and they had to do so because the UK and French had refused to treaty with the Soviets for mutual protection; as so too had Poland. The western allies and Poland, by their exclusion and isolation of the Soviets actually forced them to try and secure their borders against a power that they knew sooner or later was going to attack them. They first tried for a 3 power pact against Germany, with France and England, they were turned away

  • @Rundstedt1 Yeah it was France, England, and Poland that first signed non-aggression pacts with Germany which allowed Germany to invade half of Czechoslovakia.

  • @carvakommie and then the Soviet Union signed a non-aggression pact with Germany and Hitler & Stalin divided Poland between them.

  • @carvakommie

    FINALLY someone mentioned this!

  • She was SOVIET, дурачок

  • Red Army Major Lyudmila Pavlichenko (1916-1974) was a Ukrainian, not a Russian. She was crdited with 309 confirmed kills, among the most successful snipers of World War II.

  • The country was USSR - they were Soviets since the revolution. Whats funny is Pavlichenko said in an interview "I am proud to be a Russian soldier"

  • Ufff. The picture at 1:12 looks almost identical to a girl I used to see...

  • She was quite a woman, and a great warrior and defender of her homeland. I hate Stalin as much as anyone, and yes he made critical errors from the Purges to ordering his commanders to stand-down on the eve of Barbarossa despite the painfully obvious intelligence and indicators that the Germans were about to invade. But the Soviet Red Army deserves our respect for eliminating well over two-thirds of the Third Reich's combat power...

  • I am really not in favor of commus but Lyudmila Pavlichenko is really impressing, especially for a girl interested in military (like me:)

  • Regulated capitalism is called socialism.

    Unregulated capitalism is called fascism.

Many countries in Europe and the rest of the world have regulated capitalism, so they are able to provide things like socialized medicine to their people.

The United States has unregulated capitalism, so it can not. Our government acts on behalf of private business profits, not on behalf of people. Notice that Obama gave trillions to banks, but crumbs to Haiti.

    Predatory disaster capitalism is fascism.

  • Thank you, mymarkx.

  • Regulated Capitalism or "state run" capitalism is called COMMUNISM. As a dues paying member of SPUSA I had to say something. Stop watching FOX.

  • I don't watch FOX. I don't think that France, Sweden, Germany, and other countries that have placed certain limits on capitalism (like taxing big corporations and the rich), in order to promote the general welfare (i.e. providing socialized medicine), are Communist countries. While they consider themselves capitalist countries and the U.S. considers them to be socialist, I don't think anyone says that they're Communist.

  • Point taken. Perhaps I'm just bitter. I value that you took time to reply.

  • @mymarkx In capitalism only part of the wealth producted is returned to the workers that produced it. The rest goes as profit to the owners. In socialism the owner is the working class in whole, so the entire wealth is returned, part as fund (salary f.e.) and part as services (education, health care, insurance)

In general, the production relations in socialism are completely different than in capitalism. So please don't mistake "social democracy" as socialism.

  • @nognir616 In socialism government is an owner. It is as effective as good government is. If it is ideal socialism is as good as you say. If it is corrupt it is worse than any capitalism. Considering most of socialist governments are killing separating of powers all of them are corrupt. So, good socialism is just an ideal model impossible in reality.

  • Yeh Woody, you will be on the side of good always.f' facism.

  • this is now my favorite Guthrie song ever

  • To Horwitz, At a time when much of the public was celebrating the saturation bombing and nuclear bombing of civilian population centers, being crass about the death of an invading Nazi army soldier is pretty softball stuff. And actually Woodie did write some "cowboy" style songs being somewhat light about shootings & such. "Philadelphia Lawyer", & "Jesse James" are examples.

  • without their horrible dictator they whould speak all german now.

  • Instead of fighting a terrible war from 1941 on , the Russian people should have stand up against the horrible dictator Stalin before the war !!

  • Cool story bro.

  • it strikes me as odd that woody would celebrate death. i understand the song is about the defeat of an idea not of the men she shot but i cannot think of another song of guthrie's that treats the death of a man in such a way. can you?

  • Stalin was a murderer & his prewar purges of the USSR officer corps - including the murder of Marshal Tukachevsky, the tankist Pavlov, etc. - almost lost the war.

People of USSR deserved someone better than Stalin & Beria.

  • You dont know what your talking about, that war was not a fight between communism and Fascism-it was a fight for our country to survive! You wanna call me a public enemy? Your a typical puppet of the Capatalist system

  • @SashaVedernikov

I am not being rude but please do not slam capitalism. I am American but have great Respect for the Russian people and their military. They were great in WW2 and they continue to be a force to be reconed with. While I do not agree with Communism I do however know badasses when I see them and the Russians are BADASS!!! So please show some respect. Ignore assholes just hang with us cool folks. Cheers!

  • Its no problem,I like American people, ive lived in America for 16 years, but dont like the Govt.

  • I have a few friends from Russia. They are great people. I don't care for the Russian Government. And most people here don't like our Govt. either! LOL

  • My grandfather did NOT murder Ukrainians(Propaganda). My grandfather fought alongside Ukrainians and went to Berlin to give the Nazis what they deserved

  • This female sniper would deserve credit even if she killed only one invader. She fought on her own land. So many keyboard snipers here....

  • No doubt her tally was inflated for propaganda purposes, but that caution applies to all sides including the Finns.

And she recorded 187 kills near Odessa, which is nowhere near Finland, it's all there on Wikipedia, should you want to get YOUR facts straight.

I'm not sure why you're so against her ?

No matter what the exact figures, she was a very good sniper.

300 Nazis felled by your gun. . .

  • Norvik: I have never researched Pavlichenko, but I would definitely be skeptical to anything cited on Wikipedia. Most of my professors would give an automatic F to anyone citing facts from wikipedia.

Also, I don't think that the Soviet Union treated ANYONE fairly. Stalin has over 50 million of his own citizens' deaths on his hands, if he was willing to do that to his own "comrades" I'm certain that the treatment of Finland was not as "fair" as you may believe.

  • I never read the original statement you were responding to though, and I don't have time to, but I just thought I'd encourage you to be a bit more skeptical of what you hear or believe to be true :P. Either way as you mentioned her tally was probably inflated and I certainly agree. In times of war it just makes sense to make things seem as if they are going in your favor to increase the moral of troops and to prevent civil unrest.

  • A lot of the people in the Baltic countries enthusiastically welcomed the Nazis and helped them to kill Baltic jews and anyone else on the Nazi death list.

    Is that honourable ?

Germany did not "bless" the invasion of Finland, not sure where you got that idea from ?

The pre WW2 borders of Poland were forced on Russia by Imperial Germany, the Soviets merely redrew the border back to where it was prior to WW1.

If the "commies" were so bad, why did Poles fight in the Red Army ?
