@datalal624 you're right, datalal624, the references to the stolen generations and the scene where the whitey mother and father were taken away in the back of the ute did cut through the hilarity of earlier scenes. And the closing shot...nice and dark.

Hang on, the aborigine wasn't 'developing' when Australia was settled, they were dieing off!. If anything, they were saved from fading into history by the white man.
@WTEGog Oh look, you're a 42 year American with a whole lot of war history vids on your channel! You probably don't know what you're talking about! But look at you talking anyways. Cute.
P.S If you're going to comment on this issue, you should probably avoid racially motivated terms like 'white man'. THANKS.
BTW, any race that by the late 1700's had yet to develop such basic technological advancement as a bowl was surely on borrowed time. Even the most primitive African and New Guinea tribes had done so and more. The aborigine was on borrowed time and extremely fortunate that Terra Australis wasn't settled by the French or Spanish as their fate would have been annihilation. What we have isn't perfect but it's the better of all the possible outcomes for the indig.
@WTEGog Oh, so I suppose in a desert country quite barren of sustenance - where it is best to shop around (ie be nomadic) - you'd be wanting to carry around a full set of crockery and perhaps some furniture and a blender? and call that civilized society?
Just because a culture/civilization isn't YOUR culture/civilization does not mean it isn't advanced. You're just seeing through some very unanthropological western technocratic positivist eyes. Grow up and see the other meanings to life.
@WTEGog White settlers came and disrupted the lives of many aborigines. What has happened since then? Aborigines are usually under privileged, depressed because of the troubles caused by us. Not only that, but the once all natural, very unique environment is gone. What if white Australians had not settled? Then an entire race would be living happily in one of the most amazing ecosystems in the world.
@ActionR3playGaming So all of the empires throughout the world would have just banded together and decided it was best for everyone to just leave Australia alone and leave the Aborigine alone so that we could have an untouched paradise to look at occasionally via Google Earth?
You are living in a fantasy! This land was always going to be settled by someone, can you not accept that? My point was, if it had been settled by anyone else, they would have wiped out every single aborigine. Be thankful

this film is brilliant. funny touching and shamefully true to life. @WTEGog just the phrase "...outcomes for the indig." says a lot about you.
