  • Cool !!!!

I just wonder what engines , props and at what RPM you are running.

    Maybe YS 110 ???

  • Most of the top racers are using YS engines from .91s to 1.20s depending upon the wing area of the plane. There are some OS four strokes used and maybe a few Saitos in the slower classes. There are also a couple racers using two stroke tuned pipe engines with good success.

The YS 1.10s work well with 13x13 narrow APC props and up to 60% nitro and sometimes more. Depending on how fast you want to go. No too sure on the RPM as I don't yet tweak my engines for max output.

  • Wow 60% nitro !!!

Now I know why they looks that fast.

Could you tell me please the speed average you have on these planes.

    Thanks topmenace .

  • I forgot to mention there are also some using O.S. four stroke engines as well.

Go here for the rules we use to determine what engine we can run.

As for the speeds. My Top Flite FW190D9, which I flew to first place for the season in the Bronze class is, powered by an 18 yr old YS 1.20. The plane weighs a bit more than 12 lbs and is my main sport flyer. It has been on the radar at 111 mph.

The Silver plane I use is a YS 1.10FZ powered Kysosho KI-61 @ 7 lbs it makes approx 120-130 mph.

    Golds 140+

  • 120-130 mph with the YS 1.10FZ sounds very good , that's what I'm expecting to hear hehe , good info you give me topmeance .

Thanks a lot for your answers buddy .

    Regards .
