It gets easier to read higher speeds as you learn to recognize arrow patterns rather than individual arrows. I don't even look at what direction the arrows are pointing (just what column they're in) and I see different-shaped triangles in groups of 3 arrows.
If you'd like to practice reading ahead, I'd suggest using the Hidden mod. It's not recommended for slow parts, though.
...Wow, that is a pretty tricky chart for a Standard player - here's some more tips.
You can let go of a freeze early and hit an arrow at the end of the freeze.
For the pairs of 8th notes (red-blue, blue-red) use one foot, then the other. Think of the pairs like jumps, and get ready to move both feet to the right places.
For the repetitive "step-step-step-step-jump" (0:54 in the song), use your right foot to hit both the left and right arrows.
I was interested as to the "carboard fix" for the pads after i saw this video of a guy who got permission to do it on the arcade's DDR X cab and it worked like a charm...
Might call the place up sometime this weekend, but i know one of my friends who regurlarly goes there might have scared them away from getting, either that or they just don't want to get the cab just yet >_>
The cardboard fix is fairly simple. All you do is open the pads, take off the plexiglass arrows and then grab some cardboard that fits the size of the censor, metal piece above the sensor (that holds the arrow up), or the size of the hole (NOT RECOMMENDED) and stick it under the sensors. It should wedge perfectly in between the metal and sensor. Once you put it back together you will notice it takes a lot less weight to trigger an arrow.
So I heard that you can get past the lag if you follow the music and not the arrows on the screen. Any truth to that?

actually yes its true. Buts its very hard because you dont know how well your timing is.

nice dude! i can barely pass this on difficult, not to make you mad or anything, but can you do a song without putting on x......

yes I can, but obviously it screws up my accuracy. I am a speed reader, so using lower speed mods, or none screws me up big time.

Finally, read ahead to decide what foot to use!

Wouldn't there be a way for you yourself to fix the video lag? If you could, that'd be amazing (I don't know how to... XD)!

plug in another monitor is the only way right now.

It's good that they are fixing the pads rather then just leaving it as it is. The only thing now is the lag. All that's need there is a patch update.

wait.. when you played DDR X on a cab when it was like for testing.. did it have lag?
btw nice job (:

It did a little, but it was a upgraded SuperNOVA 2 machine.

that's really good considering the lag problem it has.

Thank you.

Dude, they DID fix the pads! Nice, i mean, shit they finally are doing something about it...
...now if only they can also fix the lag on the monitor >_>...
Nonetheless dude, good job, god i can't wait until a FIXED DDR X cab arrives here in my area

just talk to your manager and ask him if you can fix the pads yourself. I was going to talk to the techs the day I went in to fix the pads.

Thing is, i don't know how to fix it XP

Awesome, thanks ^_^

no prob. To sum it all up, just stick cardboard under the sensor lol.
