Think of the complexity, time and money that has gone in to make this car as fast and as track focused as it is.
The bike on the other hand has a beautiful simplistic practicality about it, it's something you can basically buy off the show room floor, park it anywhere, have a coffee then, suit up head down to the track and chase down million dollar race cars. The trill of being the pilot on the back of a superbike propelled like a missile around a race track can't be compared.
so its a track deisnd for that car the car is allso an intch from the ground and is 100% desighnd for raceing and its a 170bhp mv agusta what about the mv agusta f4 cc 200bhp or beter yet a moto gp bike
wtf are you talking about? The F4 actually makes less HP than an R1...and from what I've heard (and seen in racing) doesn't handle as good as a big 4 liter bike either. It's not a normal street bike...true but in terms of performance it's very average
This aint physics class but If there would have been a bet, I would've known the outcome already. "There is no knowledge that is not power" Mortal Kombat :D
In order for it to be a good race you would need to remove the down force off the car. Duh, thats where the difference comes from. Cheating your coefficient of static friction goes a long way, ask Formula 1 drivers this year.
bike would still lose...cars can brake much later and get on the gas very very early. On a bike you have to wait a little bit longer to get on the gas and brake a bit earlier. And no I'm not some noob I race bikes myself haha
Around a track, cars will win 99% of the time... no doubt about that. On the straights, as you can see from this vid, the stock bike had the lead on the straights all the way aginst the race car. And remember, MV Agustas arent known for their straight line speeds either... The MV Agusta F4 312R on the other hand...
That's the 1 percent. And it also depends on the track. Lots of low and medium speed corners and cars will take it. Lots of fast sweeping corners and bikes will win. it's that simple! By the way, I hate cars. Tryin so hard to beat stock bikes with their turbos and shit...

You're absolutely right it is a word. But as you said, it's an adjective, so there's no such thing as 'a straightaway'.
The thing is, we have schools in Europe where we are taught English, but on some schools, they don't teach you manners, or they use the F word a little too often.
power to weight ratio is always going to be in favor of bike, except maybe F1. In the corner, real race car is always going to out break and out turn a bike.
what a load of shit. That track has huge rumblestrips that the car can fly over the ... anyway point is .. cars only everbeat bikes because of downforce. The fastest road car vs the fastest road bike are basically the same.. with a slight advantage to bikes overall.
never heard of the Veyron eh? I love bikes but fact is a well set up race car has more grip (4- rather large friction pads) and significantly more horsepower that can routinely push them well over 200mph. The race cars also cost about 200x more than the bike. Personally I'll stick with bikes, it's the economically sensible of the adrenaline rushes that works with my meager earnings..
The fastest cars will always be faster than the fastest bikes. The only thing that makes street bikes impressive is that they're not much different from race bikes, as opposed to street cars, which must be radically different from race cars. And beside that, only a professional will ever get a bike anywhere near it's full potential, while even a regular driver can push a car to 90% without much trouble.
my bikes got stock dunlops and everyone in my club says they blow. i haven't hit their limits yet but you aren't the only one who hates em. we call em "dunflops"

Of course the car won. Now try it with a race prep MV Agusta RR312 1078.

Not quite a normal street bike, they are around £20,000 which is the price of a stock ferrari.

Mind telling me where I can get a Ferrari for £20,000? And could it beat the MV? Not a fucking chance.

Monza 2007
fastest LM GT1 qualifying time: Stephane Otrelli - Saleen S7R - 1:45.443
fastest WSB qualifying time: Noryuki Haga - Yamaha YZF-R1 - 1'44.941

gurney85 4 years ago
well... the main reason way a car might be faster than a bike is actually down to downforce.
main advantage of four wheels is not the grip but the stability ie you can bounce over bumps etc.
check the monza FIA lemans this year.. i already posted GT1 time vs WSB time
Monza 2007
fastest LM GT1 qualifying time: Stephane Otrelli - Saleen S7R - 1:45.443
fastest WSB qualifying time: Noryuki Haga - Yamaha YZF-R1 - 1'44.941
now you cant argue that the saleen is not well set up
Newmaidumosa 4 years ago
monza is a low downforce track, it suits bikes better. Especially that nice long straight.
