I lived in New Paltz from 2001-2004. I must say it's a land of contrasts. You have one of the most exclusive resorts there- Mohonk resort; as well as very upscale housing, not to mention all the recreational outdoor offerings within a one hour drive.On the flip side of the coin, you have some real bad elements roaming the streets and it's a town plagued by drugs. it's a town with personality and an underlying charm, now if it could just clean up its act.

The area has been reviewed and highly regarded by major NYC Newspapers and Magazines.
