We were there 2010 on a family vacation. Great time but make sure you bring your own snorkelling gear. the local folks will rent you equipment but half of them are shot and you have no guarantee you'll even get your right size.
from tabilaran City----->Alona Beach(Panglao)-----(Boat Ride)--->Balicasag Island
any one interested to visit balicasag and experience Dolphin watching on the way to the island,, u can contact me, at very affordable price just send me mail (shad852001@yahoo.com) for inquiries and bookings
I love Balicasag Island, it is the best place. It is just 2500pesos for half a day hire of a boat, and maybe 200 more for the snorkelling gear. I wish I was back there now.
too bad the area is starting to deteriorate. most visitor just step on the corals. especially people who use flippers. those thing should be banned on the marine reserved.
hi. my husband and i are planning to go to Balicasag in May. im just wondering how much would it cost us to try scuba diving and snorkeling. and what kind of camera did you use under water? im excited to go :-)
umm... i also went to balicasag last year.. we actually stayed in palau island, our hotel was there. from there we rented a boat for i think 1500php to go to balicasag then we rented another boat w/ a snorkeling guide for 200php. ^_^

I wonder what camera was used here or was it encased in a waterproof container?

Hi! We used Olympus 770 SW here. No need for waterproof cases. Olympus has a new line of shockproof and waterproof (SW) cams now. :)
