Great song.... one of my all time favorites and this is from before I was born. But Why ruin the song with the Jackie O. Kennedy sound bit. I can't find a good clean version of this song. This was it until that clip :( Thanks for being the closest though :)
I was told when the song came out and I was a kid, that the song was about a girl going to give it up but is afarid the boy won't love her tomorrow is just using her for the night.
Wonderful song, wonderful memories, but not all good. For instance, it is very indicative of the time to see the that among the happy couples in the accompanying footage. there isn't a black among them.
The great thing about this song is that it can be sung in so many different ways.
Obviously as history shows this was a huge hit. But i would really like to see an artists singing it with a big of aggression in there voice. Like there almost pissed at the person there singing it to. Like "WILL you still love me tomorrow? Or am i wasting my time"
Soo excited ... going to see The Shirelles in 3 weeks at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. This will be the 4th Doo Wop concert I am taking my Dad to. The late 50's, 60's were his teenage years and it really takes him back to the good ol days!
Beautiful, beautiful song. Songs back then had qualities that aren`t a part of musics`s landscape anymore. Innocence, discretion, and heartfelt emotion. I love these qualities in music and these type of songs revives those emotions that are hard to connect with with today`s current music.
@SinclairisCool Actually the Shirelles didn't come on the music scene until late 1959, early 1960. But you could call them the Supremes of the early 60's I guess.
Have been listening to this great song ever since first hearing it at a "sock hop" in 7th grade.....1961!! Love it and respect the musicianship more as time passes; suspect most of what is called music today would not be mentioned in the same breath as "musicianship"!
Even though I am very young, I have always love classic oldies like this because of the lyrics:"... is this a lasting treasure or just a moment pleasure...will you still love me tomorrow"
THIS is the very best of whats out there of the original version video. Wished they could have left out all the filler, and concentrated on just the closeups of the Shirelles...does one exist? This song is beautifully sung, and it never ages! It is one of those songs that brings out instant memories of the '50's...and one that even I could "slow dance" to. I never tire of listening to it...what beautiful words that are sung with such emotion. Addie, Doris, Shirley, and Beverly gave it their best

Interesting concept for a video. Is it supposed to be ironic? I hardly think it was a "bride" who put these words to music... lol

@nauort23 I agree. The movie misses the message of the song.
