  • wow.. thats real sad that they chevy!! didnt even bother to help you out! im looking for a small suv for my wife but after this im not sure if ill buy a american car? much as i want too and do the best thing but hesitate now. i like the ford escape but i hear problems with them too but not like this crap. im a ford guy so ill look into it. hope you get that thing fixed or them! chevy take it back. good luck..

  • trade for a ford escape we love ours and it works!!!

  • I agree with you,After spending so much money one should recieve a quality product and satisfactory customer service to back it up.It goes to show that the American Automobile industry still has a long way to go.

  • First off that is cool that you flat out paid for it, however I think that you are kind of a push over if it was mine and the roof fell off within the first week of driving I would take it back to the dealership and demand that it get fixed or traded in not just say o well and keep driving it around that is retarded. Also its not GM or Chevy who said it gets 32 MPG the EPA or Environmental Protection Agency does.

  • This is an absolute screw job. I can't believe Chevy can get away with this. We are not protected by the anything any more. Wow.

  • Just bought a honda cr-v after driving the equinox.. Just did not have a good feeling about gm and their customer satisfaction. Too big and arrogant and that's after they got the bailout !

  • Not gonna argue but the only problem that I've had with the equinox is how much oil it uses oh wait , and the fact that the bottom left back panel is coming off and the dealership only chipped the paint when they fixed see this in a new car is depressing but I might be getting a new jeep wrangler soon

  • I'm so glad I saw your video. I was planning on buying a Chevy Equinox....not so much anymore. Thank you so much for the warning!

  • nice video looks like I am going to look at the ford escape. Hey Chevy we got the interent now you cant screw us like you use too.

  • Had a 10 equinox, service light on 4 times in 3 months, got rid of that pile quickly.

  • If i were you,,,the 2nd time around the dealer doesnt serve you very will and what you hear are just promises promises promises....you better take this junk to the dealer and burn this junk in front of them.....

  • Thats it, just decided not to buy an Equinox

  • Best care review ever. Excellent job.

  • Well done video, especially since I was considering an Equinox this weekend.

  • I was seriously thinking of purchasing this SUV , but this and many other videos and comments like this have seriously changed my mind. I think ill just get a Ford fusion. At least it was North American car of the year for a reason

  • I was thinking about getting one of these but not now.... Those guys are Dicks!!! You should have sued the Dealership and then Chevy.... Screw that shit....

  • Did they kiss you?

    Did they kiss you?

I don't know about you, but I like to be kissed, WHEN SOMEONE IS DOING SEX TO ME!

    *SNL.

  • glad my sister went with a RAV4 V6 instead of Equinox :S

  • Sorry to hear of your troubles, hope you've been able to navigate through Chevy's service and find some resolution.

  • Great review.... Buyer Beware!

  • I bought a 2010 Equinox exactly one year ago. I saw it come off the delivery truck. My headliner was sagging WHEN IT CAME OFF OF THE TRUCK!

  • Well done! Concise, entertaining, and very informative.

Today I began test driving new SUVs. Although we have 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees and my wife wants another Jeep, but a smaller version (Compass), I wanted to also look at other SUV's.

I am (was) considering, in order of preference, the following vehicles: #1-Chevy Equinox, #2-Nissan Rogue, #3- Ford Escape, #4-Jeep Compass.

Thanks to your video the Chevy Equinox, or anything Chevy, has been permanently scratched off my list.

  • GM should give a full refund on this veeheekill. Power steering also failed on my new 07 Honda Accord, in my driveway, less than 950 mi. on the odometer. They replaced it quickly... because if it failed on a highway, I'd be dead already.

  • GM + Unions + Obama bail-out = You getting bleeped! Equinox has many suspected problems. You are not the only one suffering with the nox shutting down. I predict that there will be a class action lawsuit by many 2011 owners.

How's that "Hopey Changey Thing" working out for you Brother?

  • I've have a 1999 Chevy Cavalier and the car was great for most of the time I've had it (I am the original owner), even with it gone through an accident. There were a few minor recalls that they fixed. Working in retail has taught me that every once in a while a good product has some defectives. This should not turn everyone off of Chevy. I've heard bad things about Ford too, but I would still give them a look. Every manufacturer makes a mistake, can't be perfect. Thanks for the video!

  • you need your own review show, you could review cars and other things, could be on a and e, or speed channel or something

  • Omg...you poor owner. Can't you return it under the Lemon Law? I was seriously considering a chevy equinox...hmmm....not any more.

  • Hi. Did they finally fix your problem. Do you still have the car.

  • Thanks for the information. I was going to buy one next week but will now buy a Jeep.

  • I feel sorry for you. Thank you very much for this video. I was thinking of going for Equinox. Now I will think twice. (And great acting by the way)

  • My brothers prius just passed 205 000 miles and still going strong. Only had the AC redone. It gets 50 mpg average.

Thanks for the video though, i actually was interested in chevy but now i'll stay away from the brand in total.

  • The chevy equinox is a re badged Suzuki

and thus do not be too shocked as well it is an over priced Suzuki

and lastly it is made in Canada not USA

    buy a Nissan 100 % American 100% satisfaction

  • Warren, Thank you for posting this video!!!! I'm about 2 weeks away from buying a new SUV and the Chevy Equinox was one of them....UNTIL NOW!!!! Thank you very much for your insightful video. I hope your problem gets resolved for your own safety. Good luck!

  • Have you contacted the Better Business Bureau or State Dept of Consumer Affairs to investigate this further. I'd email this video to all your local news stations to see if they can create a story on it. Sometimes if an issue becomes public, then the manufacturer will take it more serious. Similar to the Toyota recall issues last year with this gas pedals getting stuck. That went public through the media and was widely addressed. Just an idea. Good luck!

  • this kind of service is not new from GM..I have owned a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am and 2000 GMC Jimmy in the past.....both were awful, plagued by warranty claim repairs and multiple dealership visits to repair both cars....we eventually got rid of both of them ...before they were payed off....and I bought a new Honda Accord in 2005 to replace the Grand Am....It now has 104,000 trouble free miles on it...I know the Honda has had some issues...however...this car has been bullet-proof

  • Check into lemon law, you probably just got a lemon. Everyone makes a lemon, you just got unlucky. If six dealerships were screwing you over, you should demand them to buy it back under lemon law and you should sue GM if they try to screw you over again. I have never had any major problems with GM vehicles and I avoided my Chevy dealer because I always got excellent service at my Buick/GMC dealer. I would definitely consider a GM product again.

  • My grandma has an 07 Impala, and her car has been to the dealership many times for not starting. Now that I watched this video I think when I get a new car I will get the Ford Fusion, instead of the Malibu. Thanks for sharing your story with me

  • OMG and I thought Chrysler was the only American car company you couldn't trust! I've been a supporter for GM cars for a long time and my girlfriend's parents are looking into a brand new Cadillac DTS. I better warn them.

  • Oh wait, it gets worse with chevy. I have a Cobalt and sometimes it decides it does not want to start..Something to do with the passive alarm system. You have to wait 10 minutes, without turning anything on or attempting to restart it, before it will start again. If you do attempt to start it before the 10 min. mark, you have to start all over again. Power stearing fail, yup got that one too. Maybe I'll try Jeep or ford next. Chevy you FAIL.

  • Take some japanese or even better an european car if you want to have something fuel efficient and reliable (don't necessarily pick it by brand but check the dealers and take the best dealer you can get). I would only buy from chevy, ford, dodge, gmc... if I want some big truck...

  • @michelle778 Like a Toyota that won’t stop but will actually speed up? I feel bad for the guy but go look on any Honda, Toyota, etc. forum board and it will be fill of complaints. It is typically the people who have had problems that get on the internet and tell you about their cars. I have a Chevy and an Infiniti and my experiences with the Chevy sales and service departments have been 100 x better than Infiniti. I tried to contact customer care at Infiniti and nobody would even respond to me

  • It's stuff like this that makes me want to just keep the bicycle. But then there's that 86 pound keyboard and speakers to haul around ... I have had cars from all of the American "big three" and I can't say that my experiences with maintenance have been positive on any front. It says a lot for you that you remain calm.

  • Feel bad for you, thanks for letting me know how shit and unreliable Chevy is.

  • Unreal but i commend you on not flipping out during the video. GOOD LUCK !!!

  • Warren im reposting what i can remember i wrote. In short most of these problems start on the Shopfloor.Final Inspection of the Parts.Poor testing of the finished Product.Who knows?I can give you all the ingredients for a world class Gumbo recipe ,doesn,t mean to say you can cook it, without proper Direction.Their Treatment of you is inexcuseable, and their attitude sucks They will never be, what they once thought they were.I hate saying this, but we have lost out to better workers,"The Japanese".

  • Honda or Toyota

  • Warren, you know you can't count on "American", unless the parts (and car) were made in a foreign country and shipped here. The squeaky wheel will always get oiled first and in your case you better blow a fog-horn!

My neighbor owns a BMW and not only did she have similar problems, her front seat caught fire. No, that did not move the dealer;, but fearful of the suit, they eventually gave her a new sedan.

Hey Cuz, look into that reality show thing before the kids get too grown; could be nice

  • i think they should have told you about the seat belts before u took the car. that goes to show that whoever sold u the car really needed that sale and Chevy it self is a very money hungry company, and the fact that they didn't do anything in their power to service your car in less than 6 days is ridiculous." WON'T BE BUYING A CHEVY"!

  • Sorry about your car trouble. Get a refund, get a Honda. Problem solved! :-)
