For kid's shows, decency is key. You have to be extremely polite--i.e. no cursing or innuendo--and you have to dress presentably (e.g. you have to wear modest clothes). Sure, some "adult" jokes can be thrown in for older viewers, but the primary audience would be young children, who are susceptible to others, specifically adults, especially on a show they cherish like Sesame Street.

I saw nothing wrong with the video ! it was cute and the kids wouldnt have focused on her anyways since elmo was in it. they would be focused on him. They should have just played it instead of replacing it with a "Trueblood parady" like thats any better?? Thats about vampires , sex and fairies..yep way too go seasme street ! @Vconcreteangel823: The sex was NOT PRESENT and we ALREADY have a vampire and fairy on the Street--Count & Abby, so the parody fit. Besides, it was not just about the outfit. When an artist has their most well-known hit be about their kissing the same sex & liking it...for a long-term family institution like Sesame Street, whose parental viewership is largely of the traditional mold, this poses a problem, since sexual orientation of any nature is not really needed on a show for kids.

I don't believe that she was wearing anything that our kids don't see in our malls or anywhere else in our everyday lives...I think people need to get a grip. My son is 2 and watches Elmo every day, and he Loves the Katy Perry & Elmo video. The kids that watch Elmo are or should be kids who don't really understand what people are wearing! My guess is that people are just jealous of Katy & need something to complain about!!!

K's got that shear sheath over her milk glands so that any juggling is practically unseen. She keeps her chest in neutral or hunched forward rather then out and proud in most of her work.

IMHO, any sexual perception is a product of the adult experience and adult insecurity.
