The Fullback is a dead position in the NFL. As a Big 10 guy and a fan of the old school Michigan style of football, its sad to see the heavy hitting lead blocking FB go the way of the Dodo bird. People say that old "3 yards and a cloud of dust" style of football is dead, but year after year the best teams in College and the NFl have great defenses and solid, powerful running games. "3yards and a cloud of dust" isn't as dead as some would lead you to believe.
@MrTrsmusic hillis has a LONG way to go before he can claim to be better than alstott. he is capable of being as good or better, not questioning that, but he has a ways to go.
A poor man's Csonka without Csonka's punishment or Riggo's relative athleticism. Tom Rathman who played a few years earlier was a better fullback in all respects-blocking, catching and moving the pile.
I've been fan of the Bucs since 1998 and this is my list of favorite players: Alstott Brooks Rice Sapp Dunn Barber Lynch Ruud Cadillac Wade Kennan Galloway That's it

i my opinion think jim brown was the god of fullbacks he had over 100 tds and over 12,000 career rushing.
not trying to steal alstotts thunder ,but alstott was a beast he will forever be one of the best fullback to play the game.
