If anyone is interested the 480 Ruger is a detuned 475 Linebaugh, they are the same caliber however you can't run the Linebaugh thru the Ruger but you can run the 480 thru a gun chambered for the 475. If you like that caliber I would look at BFR revolvers from Desert Eagle and opt for the 475 then you could shoot either. Just my 2 cents.
As I understand it, the "problem" was that people were taking the chamber pressures way past SAAMI pressures which caused the fired casings to swell out of tolerances, leaving them stuck in the cylinder.
Pretty good review of the firearm itself but, terrible advice on saying it "CAN" be used as a home defense weapon. That's terribly irresponsible. It doesn't matter how lightly you load this gun, you're stil gonna blow right through your target and endanger anyone else in the house. Not to mention the fact that you won't be able to hear anything for a while.
Thanks first of all. I believe I mention that the bullet would cut through your drywall like a hot knife through butter and I would not recommend it for home defense unless you live in a farm all by yourself with no neighbors but it could be used as a last resort like any other gun can be used.
If your facing an armed thug in your house and all you have i s a barrel 50 cal that would have to be your home defence weapon at the time right. That is what I mean.
nice soundtrack ;)

Not the most handsome gun. I wish they'd bulk up the muzzle to balance it out.

Actually on rugers site right now they are still chambered in 6 shot. Might have fixed the problem or something
