She awakens after a 500 year sleep and finds herself in an unfamiliar area with no memories of who or what she is. The only thing that sounds kinda cool is knowing she attacks with her hair.
@JukesSB Actually, NT expected the backlash. They knew fans would be outright upset over the change in Dante's design. But they are also optimistic that people would see pass that and see the game for what it is because of gameplay, not soully by the character.

Chronologically, those games are listed DMC3, 1, the Anime, 4, and 2. A couple novels were done as well. The first novel is set one year prior to the third game and the second is set prior to the second.

If you want to play a DMC game with the older Dante you have about four other games to play. And really the only option was a prequel considering the story line actaully ended when Dante went to hell in DMC 2.

I have to no problem with how he looks but i think they shouldnt take the story back even further when he was even more younger, I think 3 was fine. The problem is that he not only doesnt look like dante but he doesnt sound like him either therefore it seems like a complete different character and thats what most people struggle to grasp. In stead of taking the story back even further, I think it would've been better to make a game before the events of the 5th since that's when he looks oldest.

Everyone has their opinion so let's respect everyone's huh? I ain't exactly ecstatic about the punk emo look and the MUCH slower gameplay as compared to DMC 3 and 4, but as an die hard follower, I'm still getting it. \m/

im actually looking forward to this games release, it may be a bit different for what devil may cry art style and fighting mecanics are usually like, but every now and then i find its better to find a game of a series that has changed the feel of it, but is still a bit relevant to the series, i really look forward to seeing hat this type of game style will bring to the DMC universe. it may be different but i think thats what appeals to me. ill make my final decision after its release though

Ninja Theory is doing their own Devil May Cry, not continuing what was previously done. This has not tie-ins with the other games; in fact, it's a game all it's own. The name and characters may be used but the overall concept differentiates from the previous titles. DmC is it's own game.

This is taking something and making it your own with some elements from the original product. Like a song, when a singer covers a song by another artist they are not going to perform it exactly as that artist did. They are going to add their own element into it making it something they are familiar with. DMC was Hideki Kamiya's song.

Capcom will release a Devil May Cry HD collection in April 2012, this collection consists of Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3 (special edition, and thus enabling you to play as Vergil). these games will have a graphic boost and some unspecified bonus material. this is for Xbox 360, PS3 and probably PC as well.

If you want to play a DMC game with the older Dante you have about four other games to play. And really the only option was a prequel considering the story line actaully ended when Dante went to hell in DMC 2.

I have to no problem with how he looks but i think they shouldnt take the story back even further when he was even more younger, I think 3 was fine. The problem is that he not only doesnt look like dante but he doesnt sound like him either therefore it seems like a complete different character and thats what most people struggle to grasp. In stead of taking the story back even further, I think it would've been better to make a game before the events of the 5th since that's when he looks oldest.

To make things absolutely clear, this is a reboot and it's a new Dante. Most fans hate the new look and gameplay speed whole other newcomers and some fans embrace it with open arms. Everyone has their opinion so let's respect everyone's huh? im actually looking forward to this games release, it may be a bit different for what devil may cry art style and fighting mecanics are usually like, but every now and then i find its better to find a game of a series that has changed the feel of it, but is still a bit relevant to the series, i really look forward to seeing hat this type of game style will bring to the DMC universe. it may be different but i think thats what appeals to me. ill make my final decision after its release though

Ninja Theory is doing their own Devil May Cry, not continuing what was previously done. This has not tie-ins with the other games; in fact, it's a game all it's own. The name and characters may be used but the overall concept differentiates from the previous titles. DmC is it's own game.

@stavros5824 What aren't you getting? This is a reinvention. Like any Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St and other movies, this is a reimagining. This is taking something and making it your own with some elements from the original product. Like a song, when a singer covers a song by another artist they are not going to perform it exactly as that artist did. They are going to add their own element into it making it something they are familiar with. DMC was Hideki Kamiya's song.

@ffxmmx The problem is that they have replaced everything instead of "innovating" the series. To be honest it just looks like DMC4. With Dante having the DB. I honestly think they should try to add something new. Perhaps a Real Flow Battle time system, where your moveset is not set into stone and you create new moves on the go.

In turn instead of CC working WITH NT. NT is actually working for Capcom while they are overseeing the project to "ensure" its quality.

OK look when i saw the first trailer i was pissed i was thinking why reboot something that kicks ass but u have to admit guys it is getting better (slowly) the graphics look way better the dmc 4 (not saying that was an ugly game it was gorgeous at the time) the combat look faster from what I've seen as for the level design I'm not shore if that is meant to be hell that bullshit where's the pool of blood and those chess guys it looks very strange. Capcom will release a Devil May Cry HD collection in April 2012, this collection consists of Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3 (special edition, and thus enabling you to play as Vergil). these games will have a graphic boost and some unspecified bonus material. this is for Xbox 360, PS3 and probably PC as well.
