What I love the most about this is the thought of the people in the supermarkets completely oblivious that you're lip-synching a song with a puppet and have a camera set up to record it all. Hilarious!
This doesn't sound like a problem with the software -- more with the sensitivity of the mic. It's peaking out, which distorts the sound. Unless you processed it a lot after recording? Which software are you using? There may be a better free program...
The volume levels on the instrument vs vocals are also off -- my roommate tells me you're supposed to turn the sound on all tracks way down, then if you can still hear the instrumentals when it's really quiet, the instrumental is still too loud.
This being my first attempt at recording vocals of any kind, I know I made all kinds of mistakes. But it's all about learning, right?
The instrumental part (as well as all sound recording) was done via Audacity as a poor man's karaoke track. When I added character vocals, I had to try to adjust levels cos we were drowning in background vocals. :( Then there was a speed issue that was a nightmare... I'll take all the help I can get if you can spare it!
OMG, This is freaking amazing!

I have the same audio program that you have, so maybe it would work better, plus Video Impression 2 which can add the video and audio together.
