I did some research on 8CR13MoV steel and I found out that its really close to 440A steel. As far as the chemical properties, the only difference between 8CR13MoV and 440A is that 8CR13MoV contains 1% more Chromium (Cr) than 440A steel.
Break down of what 8CR13MoV means:
8Cr = 8% Chromium
13MoV = 13 % Molybdenum / 13% Vanadium
This makes 8CR13MoV a Chrome/Vanadium stainless steel.
wwwooooowww you re did the fuck out of that blade! it almost looks like a Resiliance! or maybe even a spyderco military not givin the size diffrence, duracoat that bad boy and make some serious cash!!
hey dude, i commented on the old vid, but i mentioned that i convexed my persistance and it got a wicked edge and cuts like a beast now, but i like the mod u did, makes it kind of look like an endura shape of blade.
Gloves, woo! I seen a few people mention finger grooves as choils and I always laugh a little about how it bugs you. What did you use to grind the serrations off?
@DemonHide Hell yeah, gotta stay warm(er)! Apparently I have developed a very odd pet-peeve, and I can't control it...... LOL........To grind it down I grabbed what sandpaper I had on hand started working away .... In hindsight I probably could have just used a grinder since all I wanted was steel removal. Then I just did the cutting edge normally on a stone

@thomassmyth65 Ahhh gotcha. Now that you mention it, it does look a bit more like an endura....... thanks for watching

I probably should have mentioned that I finished it with a flat edge grind, no convex

@mlacey56 Must've taken you forever to do that by hand. If you have a grinder, maybe you should've used it. It's a luxury for some! (like me LOL)
