I'm Allie's (his interpreter's) daugher. Martel is a really kind, inspirational person. My grandparents are deaf and I know quite a bit of ASL (american sign language) and we can talk easily. He's a really nice guy and I really think of him as a hero. He's made it these 4 years and I think he's already gone above and beyond. It's really great to see that so many people think this way about him!

My brother is deaf and before i watched this i never really took much time to learn ASL, i just knew the basics but now i'm really going to take time and learn to be able to communicate with him, because i plan on us living together when we're older.

Martel is a great role model for those deaf kids who play football and also it tells us that we can play in big colleges instead of small deaf colleges... (I'm hard-of-hearing and play football too)
