Martel is an amazing person! Truly inspirational! He has been and will always be successful because of his can-do attitude. We love and miss you here in Tyler, Martel!
Of course I'll let him know asap! He's always really happy to know that hes helped people. And, I'm sorry, but I don't know if I can talk about his career, but if I can, I'll let you know about what he's doing.
I'm Allie's (his interpreter's) daugher. Martel is a really kind, inspirational person. My grandparents are deaf and I know quite a bit of ASL (american sign language) and we can talk easily. He's a really nice guy and I really think of him as a hero. He's made it these 4 years and I think he's already gone above and beyond. It's really great to see that so many people think this way about him!
could you tell martel if you have a chance that he has givin me a new look on life me my self am hard of hearing to. and i was depressed haveing dead thoughts. until my mom has showed me what deaf can do in world. she show me martel and i now see i am not alone in a world. just tell martel thanks! (:
My brother is deaf and before i watched this i never really took much time to learn ASL, i just knew the basics but now i'm really going to take time and learn to be able to communicate with him, because i plan on us living together when we're older.
this is a story that has inspired me... im not hearing impaired but i understand what it is like to have to odds against you... he is an inspiration to me and i thank him for his strength and determination.
Martel is a great role model for those deaf kids who play football and also it tells us that we can play in big colleges instead of small deaf colleges... (I'm hard-of-hearing and play football too)
Wow! Awesome very athletic player! My son is a 10 yr. old DEAF football player for the Waxahachie Cherokees!

Great piece. Why is it not open captioned so individuals who are Deaf/Hard of hearing also have access to this piece???

Good Question, let me see if the copy I have will allow me to record it with captions.
