Funny how my grandpa, and other men who migrated from the south have the same thing in common, hooch, women, and the blues music. It was like a combination pack type style, like these things all went together for many many of the black men I know, family, friends, and otherwise. I guess it's comparable to rap music and videos hoochies and weed, right? Or rock n roll in the 70's, with groupies and acid or LSD, right? Just a thought/idea/observation.

When I was young, I used to think Motown was the historic music to salute, and my grandfather who's from North Carolina used to say, "shut up, you don't know good music, then he'd flip in a tape of Muddy Waters or Little Walter or Howlin Wolfe, John Booker, etc. and my eyes would cross because, hey, when you're young you're young.
