now turbos are coming back next year, if the powers that be have any sense they will also bring back 500 mile races at Michigan & Fontana and also the Hanford device
Beautiful cars, great racing, great crowds... makes one long for those days not so long ago. Hopefully either the IRL will succeed or if it does not, a new IndyCar series will rise from its ashes and we'll see something this beautiful again.
The CART Champ Cars are in fact faster. Mainly becuase of the turbocharged 900 hp engines as opposed to the 650 hp naturally-aspirated engines. Also, engine technology was not as restricted in CART.
Weird that Tony's series looks so much like what he despised 15 years ago. Only, unlike CART in the mid-90s, the IRL is just a shadow of IndyCar's former glory.
Judging by the heavy rain at the beginning and the complaining by Chip about darkness, I'm guessing they delayed the restart until conditions improved during the Surfer's round?
Long Beah, part of "IndyCar World Series" 2008. Thank god, the boneheads on both sides are finally on the same page, and this year is gonna finally have more than 25 cars at all of the races. TOGETHER AT LAST!!!
i agree i am just so happy they finally grew up and put their shit aside and realised to survive, they needed re unite. In time, it'll slowly grow back to what it was like in the 90's .
These cars are so much faster then Today's "Indycars" and that new 2012 version looks slower then the car they've been running the last 10 years.

Surfer's Paradise the first night race without lights.
Anyway, it seems to me that CART race cars are faster than IRL race cars.
To the end, I think Indy Car racing in the 90s and beginning of the 2000s are very exciting. That was real race cars with an awesome engine sound.
PS: Tony George should get away. He ruined the mighty era of the Indy Car World Series.

Micheal Andretti could of been great in F1 if he wasn't such a baby and taken F1 a little more seriously.

With as narrow as this course is, the IndyCar Exhibition here next month should be interesting.
