I don't want to be 'that guy', but I find the video hard to watch because of the high-frequency screech in the audio... It's possible it's at a pitch where most people can't hear it but for me it's pretty loud and grating.
I don't know if there is a way to fix it, just thought I'd mention it.
@Ksinix if its a standard 320d it should have about 163 hp, But, since i doubt that engine could keep up with an m5, it might as well be chiptuned, and i think that will bring up about 215hp if im not mistaking, or, ofcourse the m5 driver just sucked at driving! btw, 340hp alpina b10, 400hp m55, how could you keep up with this car???
Even if it was an alpina b10, or a 540i, i must say, classy drivin, or that dude in the big overpowered car should take a second exam...
@lexallesflex The car was chipped - but I doubt it got up to 215bhp, probably more like 190 ish. They reckon it was up to 200, but without a rolling road there is nothing to confirm that and, to be fair, the chip tuning companies over state the benefits to sell their product!
I would love to go back in a proper car and give a serious laptime a go, although I suspect that I may have pushed my luck already! If I had of stacked it I would have been a very unhappy camper!

@StraightXedgee Yep - I think it was! A family of holidaying brits in there too! What a top break away from reality - spending 3 days at the Ring. I even got 1 lap where I was the only one there - just me and the Green Hell!
Thanks for the compliment - I guess you think that it is a good time - which I think it is!!! Maybe one day you will get a car and learn how to drive it!!!
hey there,i did 17 lap in all.recommended top fun.mine was manual.used 10000 miles worth of brakes on the laps!the guy above must think it is a good lap too;-) i have an e46 m3 now-want to take it over.cheers fella
I would be interested to see your video of it. I can go faster, but not in that car!!! Not a bad time considering it is a 2 litre diesel family car!!!
Don't forget, I had to slow down for roadworks on this lap, at one of the most important parts to keep your speed up - the uphill part! That said, in the UK one of our driving presenters Jeremy Clarkson only manages 10 minutes in a car with a bit more power!
BMWs are top cars
When I get my M3 there I hope to take a big chunk off the time.
Excellent driving skills using the car to its limits. I was there doin 09:42 in a 90 hp Golf TDi rental car, the first/last track Ive been driving in my life. Ive only driven RWD fast before and the Golf is FWD. So Im also proud of what I managed on the ring.
Ive been talking a lot of goin down there with my Volvo 940 and do it around 08:15 to 08:45 hopefully. But then I need a rollcage for that...
Keep youre U.S ass on youre side of the sea. We prefer you staying there instead of wobbling around on the ring making it unsafe for other drivers ; )
I think it was about 20 euros, but the cost of the brake pads, tires and fuel is probably more!!!
If you crash you need to pay for the damage to your car AND the circuit, so you need to take that into account when making your decision, my decision was - JUST DO IT!
It is the SE version, so standard suspension. I did nothing to the car, except a little tweak of the ECU. The M sport have stiffer suspension, but probably wouldnt make much difference.
I used 10,000 miles of brake pads over 17 laps though!!!!!
