I wish I could get one of these instruments (for less than the price of a used car). I love the music.

You have to spend some money to start.
- $550 for a treble gamba, $1000 for a 7 string bass
- Less than $200 for gamba bow.
- Rosin $20
- Spend $150 on sheet music (You will need to spend more later).
- I would suggets you take lessons: this ranges, but probably $40/hr and up. And if you do not have a teacher in your area, some might do Skype.
So for less than $1500 you would be ready to tackle your favourite music.
That is a really cheap used car.

@hinderikgruben $1000 for a 7 string Viol? Where? This is a fraction of what a decent, good playing instrument goes for.
