There was an audience present during this series as proved when shown on challenge recently. They were clearly visible during the super round in some shots.
I've just watched videos of the opening episode of the '95 series and I've learned that Response Revolve batons were worth 10 points each then, rather than 5 as here.
Not having Challenge (on which the series is currently being shown), I can only guess that it was changed because contestants weren't too gone on the Revolve and wanted to buy more batons...
in this version of the krypton factor - the music during the events (not the continuinty music) but when the contestants are in game - i would love to have that on mp3 or something - it sounds like it was kind of created on a powerful at the time AMIGA
Even though the reception to the 1995 series of KF was mixed to negative when it was initially broadcast, it's always great when footage of it appears.
But is it just me, or did Gordon look not entirely comfortable presenting it? After all, it was radically different from the previous seventeen series...
@deselmes Jeremy Beadle mentioned in his autobiography that Gordon Burns did not approve of the changes and repeatedly warned the producers that they would kill it off by being so savage in ripping apart the well-established formula.
Beadle speaks of Burns' loyalty to the show and how, despite his reservations over the changes, he did not want to deal the show a further blow through not publicly backing it. So despite his personal feelings, he continued with the series.
Renamed. There was no audience present for any of the events I saw filmed, and I'm inclined to believe it was the real event as some of the competitors complained to the adjudicators about some issue or other.
@TonyDuMont If I remember rightly, there was a problem in the lighting control room and the penalyth lights on the laser maze didn't illuminate. An marshal halted them but theybelieved they were at a disadvantage as a consequence. It would have meant re-running the round though, so the complaint was dismissed.

As a kid, I think the 1995 series spoiled it for me somewhat as they messed around with the format too much.

@97channel Interesting, thanks for that 97channel.
Of course, Granada produced both KF and You've Been Framed!, which Jeremy was hosting at the time - but I wonder if he was a KF fan?

Great clip of The Krypton Factor from 1995 tgoacher shame the end credits didn't make it to the end of the clip.

It's great to see some footage from the 1995 series, do you have any more apart from the super round?

Actually this is Group C, Heat 2. I've noticed the set is a bit asymmetrical, with the audience on one side and the Rings slanted toward the other.

@tgoacher What exactly did they complain about?
