  • I had a teenage neice who developed depression (self harming/suicidal) so had to see a pscyhologist, thinking back she had metal braces fitted at the time. It seems that the metal compounds in dentistry can lead to all sorts of problems especially in children :( - I wont even mention what was said about the toxicity of root canals. Thanks for posting these videos - Namaste :D

  • Other SSC effects cited were impairment of eyesight. I also saw a report which said that a nickle compound similar to that used in dentistry was used to induce cancer in laboratory animals. A test on my son showed he had high white blood cell count which indicated an infection or allergic response. I am using biomed to detox his body and dietary intervention. This info I found out after observing adverse effects in my son. Luckily they agreed to remove it along with his baby tooth.

  • I have just had a stainless steel crown (SSC) removed from my autistic son's mouth. He had the crown placed two years ago and I noticed he became more aggressive. I searched the net and found there appears to be a link to behaviour problems, learning difficulties and nickel in SSC;s and braces. The dentist couldnt tell me which metals made up the composition of the SSC alloy. My son also became distressed around mobile phones, I also suspect that metal in the mouth could amplify EMFs

  • My dentist removed a crown another dentist in that office made for me. He said he didn't like the way it set. After he changed the crown I constant had pain in my jaw. Now I have the bottom tooth and top tooth made into crowns and I wish they never put these things in my mouth. Everyone tells me go see the dentist but his attitude is everyone has this problem and I have no business questioning what he did or seeking relief from the pain.

  • No, We've just read the BMJ July 2008 study proving than weaker men die earlier than stronger men. We also know that muscle weakness causes billions of dollars of injuries and arthritis. Please share your ignorance and abuse elsewhere.

  • Ah, the ol' crowns-causing-a-limited-amount-of-muscle-weakness-in-your-right-arm-unless-you-touch-them-with-your-finger problem. A terrifying public health issue.

You guys know your nuts, right?

  • I had a CEREC Crown done today and I feel fine.

  • Yes, Cerec crowns are fine because they are solid porcelain - meaning they have no metal lining. Your crown will not cause any of the problems demonstrated on these videos. Well done! Make sure you thank your dentist for state of the art.

  • Very good, I love you tube because you can find anything you want! I'm a Dental Technician from NZ

...and for any body wishing to have crowns done keep on the safe side and request for all ceramic crowns with organic porcelains! The two main framework material you can google are Alumina oxide and Zirconia. Most porcelains in the dental industry are organic and competable with the periodontal tissues (hard and soft). Patient must be aware what goes in their mouths or body, love the video!

  • WOW! I do believe this, that is serious.

Thank you for posting this very informative, inlightening video.

  • sinking.. i just posted a video of myself spillin the beans on chinese made dentistry lol.... i believe your video...and the jury is out on individual sensitivities to crowns, yet the evidence is mounting.

  • i dont know if i believe this

  • If everybody already believed it, there would be no reason for me to put it on youtube. Why would anyone think that your body would work properly with a hunk of in your tooth? It makes no sense. I've seen this over 600 times. It's real and important.

  • @siking1962 If this is true, why is this information not widely distributed to dentists nor taught in dental and medical schools? You should know that you cannot derive scientific conclusions based on anectodal observations. I've tried to find any objective, evidence based science in your claims. Alas, I have found none besides the pseudo-science that is so often attributed with chiropractic. Shame on you for being misinformed and trying to impart this to a very susceptible audience.

  • @italiansurprise I make no scientific conclusions. I offer these videos for what they are, objective observations of real patients suffering real problems. Far from being susceptible, I trust people to be intelligent enough to draw their own conclusions and take action if it is appropriate for them. Shame on you for thinking that evidence-based science has any relevance to an individual with a health problem that no evidence-based treatment can solve.

  • @siking1962 There is no problem with a video of observations, but you clearly have made your own connection and furthermore dental related suggestions (ie: CEREC, avoiding metal). If, as you say, "no evidence-based treatment can solve" this "problem," why do you boldly conclude that "a dental crown can cause severe muscle inhibition...?" You have an obligation to give truthful information to your patients. Your audience seeks your truthful advice and you cannot and should not be the one to do so

  • @italiansurprise I appreciate your concerns. If I could do a 40 year double-blind study of the effects of metal vs non-metal crowns, believe me, I would. Any suggestions? I base my conclusions on about 40,000 patient encounters over 10 years, and the fact that, physiologically, it is not possible to irritate a mucous membrane with metal and not have it cause muscle inhibition. The withdrawal reflex and law of reciprocal inibition guarantee it.

  • Just finally, I would never suggest anyone has dentistry or metal removal without good reason. But nobody has to have metal, there are much better biocompatible materials. I'm just trying to save people the expense of not getting it right hte first time. Dentists are never going to believe this because they think a patient's slipped disc or back problem is none of their business, doctors won't because the teeth is none of their business. They both put chronic injury down to bad luck??

  • I do hope, however, that these observations will stimulate those in a position to do the science. Designing experiments to test observations, is what science is all about (as opposed to condemning those making the observations). If my audience thinks science will give them truth, then they mis-understand the purpose of science. It is better that they come to their own conclusions based on their experience of the world, to which I add just a piece. Thanks again, Simon

  • metal free, for certain is always best with sensitive patients.

  • its not raw materials lol. Laboratory's make a prosthetic, like a hip replacement, knee or even a pace maker! ITs imperative that the 'cheapest' available product the dentist chooses to place in a persons oral cavaity is known about.

  • well price is one thing. Getting disclosure on WHO and WHRERE and from what materials a person oral prothesis were both made and made from is imperative . China , is making crowns outsourced for as low as 39.00 each! Its hideous a dentist would insert a foreign cheap crown , simply for 'profit'. Its not for workmanship, its about 'price'. That is violative of the Hippocratic code.

  • Actually, the quality of the metal is irrelevant to this video. I have seen this reaction over 500 times and it doesn't seem to matter whether the lab has used precious, semi-precious or other metal, any metal crowns can cause this reaction in some patients. The only safe crowns are those containing no metal. (Disclosure - I have no financial or other connections to any dental labs or suppliers)

  • i had mine taken out 3 days ago..i agree that they are making us ill

  • if a patient does not see the LAB bill to the dentist they have NO idea the material used. DEMAND TO see the lab bill

  • If I was a dentist, I would be happy to show you what materials were used, and even which lab was used, but I don't see that you would have the right to see the fee the lab charged me. No business ever discloses the cost price of it's raw materials.

  • jeesh .. its the galvan effect. Electrostatic fields exist in teeth, and can be interfered with by certain metals the patient might not be compatible with. DEMAND TO SEE THE LABORATORY BILL

  • I had one patient who bought me in the crown after it had been removed. It had a mercury filling still attached to it. I put it back in her saliva and measured the voltage between the gold and mercury. It was 170mV - far more than the 70mV needed to discharge a nerve (make it fire). No wonder she had complete unilateral weakness (motor loss) which eventually created a prolapsed disc.

  • no no its the Galvanization effect dudes. We have electrical currents running through our teeth..or electrostatic. Some patients from certain metals in the crowns expierience a disruption in the 'flow' and neurosymptomological effects, muscularly.

  • It could be the galvanic effect, especially if the crwon is place over a mercury amalgam preparation, but that would not explain the effects of pressure on the tooth. Personally, I suspect the effects are due to mechanical stimulation of proprioceptors in the mucous membranes and periodontal ligaments. These have reflex connections with motor areas of the brain and could explain the strength changes.

  • i'm sorry. this video proves nothing. all i see is someone lifting a weight. show us your scientific studies.

  • Don't be sorry, it's just an observation. I'll do the studies if you will fund them.

  • The metal in the crown sometimes irritates the sensitive nerves in the gum and some people lose their strength. Have your dentist make you a non-metal crown if you can.

  • how the heck does that happen??? IM gettin a dental crown done now! and the tooth they grinded down broke while i have the temporary crown on.
