4 dislikes? Wow. You fucks are mindfucked. The world would be better off without you. Go kill yourselves. Sorry Arlo. Sometimes a little death is the answer to peace and ignorance.
And we were afraid we would lose him young to Huntingtons Disease that killed his father young, he was lucky and we are too! He doesn't come to my town, too small, but we can hear in on Utube! Thanks people who put these up!
Love this song - love Arlo. Saw him live for the first time in Ithaca NY Nov 6/10 - it was the best concert I ever attended. He's not just a great musician, he is a living legend, an icon and everyone should make an effort to see him at least once - I guarantee you won't regret or forget it. I look forward to the next time I can go to see him perform.
You know there are a lot of songs I like, and a lot of songs that speak a lot of truth, and then there are songs someone else writes that are kind of "about you" - they're songs that would play in a movie made about your life, based on their sensibility or spirit or subject matter, and this is definitely one of mine.
The Guthrie family, more than once, has made me feel not so bad about people and the world for a little while...
I live in as remote of a place you can find. We now are faced with locking our cars and doors to our home which was not thought of years back. I'm affraid things will just get worse. Sorry to hear all your music is gone, but at least you have youtube!
This has become one of my favourite songs. Me and my son saw him perform it in concert in Barrie, Ont in november. He made a profound impression on both of us.
Again I must say... God Bless you, Jackie and Mr. Guthrie, for making these wonderful, entertaining, uplifting videos available for Arlo's sizable world of fans and friends. Thank you.
Every once in awhile, I hear a song like this and I listen to the beauty of life that could be, but isn't and it jars me into thinking "what the hell is going on" with poverty, pain, war and suffering. Another song that makes me think like this is "what's so funny about peace, love and understanding" or "blowing in the wind". Ah well, maybe someday we'll all get there in the meantime, we make the best of it.
I love this guy, I'm trying like hell to get my hair like his....driving my dear wife crazy...don't know why.....it's so cool....Arlo gave the best concert I've ever been to.

Arlo Guthrie is a national treasure! If you have not been to see this amazing man perform, you are missing out. If he comes anywhere near your area, treat yourself and go hear him. He constantly tours.
My absolute favorite Arlo song. I got to see Arlo in Brevard, NC several years back and this was the last song. It was a concert I'll never forget. Thanks Arlo for the music that helps us sail down the highways of our lives.
Arlo is great! he is just as good as his dad, but unlike his dad, arlo has the advantage of lots of videos! Please dig out somme more of woody from the archives!
Hey... this song did the same thing for me... it was a singular comfort during some drepressed and desolate times when my sanity and safety depended on it... and that was back in 1968! I am still here, over 50, happy and content. (Thank you Arlo!)You hang in there freeride... you can/will prevail.
