And at the peak of her career, she sort of doesn't have a body yet due to the hard core training of everyday. But now that she took a break, she' s gained some weight and curves since she doesn't train that much. So her body changed a bit. She doesn't look the same as she did three years ago since Beijing 2008. Now she looks like your typical all-american girl walking down the street.

Its just that its the truth: professional athlete or not, a person with the same bodytype as hers gets labeled as "unhealthy" by many jealous ordinary people, which bothers me. I mean, I eat healthy and exercise regularly, and go to sleep on time every day. So if she is slim like me and wears a bikini(which bikinis are suited for girls with boobs), then maybe the myth is true: guys do like slender girls!

@NlovewithNaley i agree... the judges took off more on yang yilin for missed handstands then dead hangs for he kexin! and nastia and he got the same scores if im not mistaken and they pick HE to be the gold medalist.... the only flaw i could visibly see for nastia's uneven bars routine was the double front 1/2 dismount where her legs were seperated but everyone does that on a double front!! plus nastia actually STUCK her dismount as well...

She has said that she wants to compete AA at World's this year and try and equal or better Shannon Miller's record of 9 World's medals. I honestly think she will be selected but as a beam/bars specialist. She's only competing beams at Visa Championships this weekend and that only gives her two months to get three other pieces competition ready... I'm not seeing it. I think Martha will suggest that she works bars and beam and that will pretty much guarantee her a spot on the World's team.

i really wonder if she'll be able to keep it up - i HIGHLY doubt she'll make 2012. if you look at recent pictures of her, it's clear she's hit puberty in the time since the olympics. to gymnasts, puberty means the end of their career is very close.

She was 19 in the olympics. Im pretty sure she already had hit puberty lol. after the olympics she may have gained a bit of weight but she could very easily get into top performance shape again. Just give her a little break ;o)

gymnasts are different. they train so hard that they don't hit puberty until they take a long break or quit. look how straight up and down her waist is in the pictures from the olympics. look at chellsie memmel, sam peszek, bridget sloan. you think it's coincidence that all of them are flat-chested with no curves?

I think that athletes of any sort, when they are in shape and underweight, can look like they have not gone through puberty yet. It is possible to get amenorrhoea but I highly doubt that all gymnasts and dancers for that matter dont go through puberty until after their career. I know from experience (intensive ballet).. Im 20 and look like 14 lol.

i guess so. i really love watching her gymnastics, she is so graceful and beautiful to watch. i sure hope that we'll see her at 2012 but it's really just not going to happen, i think. look at alicia, who retired at 20. very rarely do you see a gymnast over 20 at the olympics or any competition for that matter.
