  • thank you Dr. Rosendo. surgeons often do not want to change but remember, in order to improve on something it does require altering ones perspective....

  • bowlster- recurrance is VERY VERY uncommon. in fact , I just saw my first one in over 3 cases 6 months ago. He was a laborer with thick wrists who formed a new ligament and simply needed re-release about 5 years after initial surgery. was not a problem...

  • If i need to get surgery im asking for this method! Looks a lot better then cutting you open all the way then putting you all back together

  • well, both open and endoscopic work just as well but recovery faster than the open...

  • Thanks for the video Dr. Badia! I had this done on my left hand in March and it made life much easier on me. I just had my right hand done last Thursday on the 15th and am recovering. All I feel now is soreness. Dr. Richard Wilson in San Antonio did my surgery and I would recommend him to anyone.

  • thanks dr. badia...great video! more power!

  • It is good to hear response that really represents the vast majority of pt experiences.. Glad you are well.

  • I am glad you are more confident now. irony is that carpal tunnel release is easiest and most successful procedure us hand surgeons perform but fraught with most fear... i think the media has hurt us in this regard. NO published support for a successful surgery in popular media i have seen....

  • Magnifico como siempre Alejandro.

  • Enrique-

Coming from a surgeon of your magnitude, I consider your comment a true honor.

  • Saw your endoscopic median nerve release and was impressed by the speed of it all. Having CTS in both wrists I found lbmedllc com on which

dr L Berger has his paper re Balloon carpal tunnel plasty, developped in the early 1990ties.

He stretches rather than cuts the transverse carpal ligament. Stretching seems preferable.

What is the hold-up in introducing BCTP?

  • studies showed the balloon expansion lost effect after time. Really NO reason not to divide ligament which has no effect on hand function as studies have shown. why change something that works so well. THIS is the frustrating thing about carpal tunnel release for surgeons. IT works well, almost NO complications, yet patients keep looking for ways around it spending thousands on chiropractic, acupuncture, massage etc when the 5 minute release under local is perfectly effective. amazes us....

  • OK. NO argument, however, nothing in scientific literature supports that view brought forth in the popular press. IF you have CTS, of course, typing and other activities placing the wrist in a flexed posture will put pressure on the nerve as you correctly state. But that is not the cause ... i.e. walking around the block on an arthritic knee hurts. The brief walk did not CAUSE the osteoarthritis.

YOu are certainly free to believe what you like. I hope you feel better... Dr. BAdia

  • wrist hurting has nothing to do with CTS whose hallmark is numbness in first 3 digits. Read my article on my website to better understand the condition... Dr. BAdia

  • Looks simple enough, but I am a bit squimish about having it done though. Better that then this numbness and tingling.

  • Thank you for providing this video! Would love to see more videos involving your other cases.

  • i play the djembe....and i presents a little dolor in my hand....a go to the doctor and he says me que this dolor is because the carpal tunnel syndrome, just a little syntoma no the dangerous syntomas....my question is i cant play again?
