@TheTweeker79 I understand what your saying but I dont see it as dumbing it down and at least not for me, I do dj alot but im also a producer, I have an NS6 controller that I use and when i spin I like to play live on top of the track that is being played. This program for me would enable me to make my own loops that i can also drop in what ever track that i would be playing so for me its more freedom to get creative. :)

@U2BROTHR If I were you, I'd wait until more details come out on this thing before you get a Maschine. I don't think it'll be a substitue for the Maschine, I'm guessing this will be like a whole DJ controller that has some Novation Launchpad-style buttons on it. I don't think they'll be velocity sensitive drum pads, I think they'll be light-up buttons. But yeah, I would wait anyway. I may be completely wrong.

@U2BROTHR maschine is for producing..traktor for djing (obviously can be incorporated into production as well) but if you are more interested in production Maschine is still the way to go. Afterall the video is called "the future of traktor" not "the future of maschine".

I think Native Instruments should forget this and make a DAW. Traktor is fine the way it is without some mini-Maschine attached to it. It just seems unneeded. I really think a DAW from NI would be great.

Sure, it can sequence drums and even plug-ins, but I'd like to see someone create a whole album - never mind that, a single song - in Maschine. No one in their right mind would pick Maschine as a DAW over Logic, Pro Tools, Cubase, Live, or even Garageband. I want to see NI make a major contender on the DAW market. I'd buy it, NI, and I bet I'm not alone there.

I can't even get the loop decks on my Traktor S4 to stay in time longer an a couple of bars if external samples are loaded in, so that about 16 times over with launch buttons sounds a right ball ache.

@KarlGmusic Hi Karl, sounds like you should get accustomed to the beauty of a beat grid and try using the correct BPMs on your samples. :) The BPM counts will make sure everything stays in time - and the beat grid will make the phase sit perfect everytime. There are good beatgridding tutorials out there.... Experienced Traktor users beat grid a track in a few seconds.

@SoulmindProductions i've tried this. I've exported a perfect 4bar loop straight from my DAW, loaded it into a deck to let traktor beat-grid it, tried doing a loop to check its ok, which it is... So now I should be able to use it in any sample deck without it drifting out of time right? Nope, constantly have to briefly switch the controller onto the sample decks to keep nudging it into time to stop it falling out.

@KarlGmusic Trust me on this: If you have beatgridded properly (just set a grid marker on the "1" yourself!), then it will always work. I've just worked on a mix where I use dozens of loops in perfectly beatgridded songs and it works like a charm, always. A very convenient way of seeing whether your tracks are prepared correctly is turning on the "Beat" counter in the deck details in Traktor's preferences. :)

Just got Traktor Pro 2 couple weeks ago to run with my Denonc MC6000 which is a direct competitor with the S4. Not one single issue has come up with the software or the MIDI itself. Everything was mapped perfectly and Traktor has not crashed once even after long sessions. NI seems is better with software than hardware

If your smart enough go out and see what you are buying and reasearch it . You will find that you will get the products that do exaactaly the same as each other but with a £800 price difference.(NI understand this in some products they make, but fail to support it with appropriate software updates THAT ACTUALLY WORK.... the S4 being a good example.

Native instruments is still pushing the ability to create new sounds for people forward. I support them fully, and can't wait for what they have in store for 2012, along with every other company. This year music comes down hard and things are gonna get rough so you've got to stay true to your music, and NI is giving us something to help with that. So kudos.

PC's Great For Djing, Producing etc. If you know how to use them,They are stable. very friendly to someone techsavy or someone who likes to experiment with their computer, knowing they wont get a virus. i have owned pc's all my life and never gotten a virus.

Mac's-user friendly to those with less computer experience (Which you dont need for djing) but, you cant mess around/tamper with the computer, as apple doesn't want that happening. -In the end its all about preference , Dont Fight:)
