  • omg this gun is ripped off from black ops !! everyone this gun is fake it i stolen from bleck ops!

  • @5B1 Please, please tell me you're not being serious.

  • @5B1

Wow... I should shoot you for saying that. Too bad the M1911 was designed in 1908 and issued in 1911 as the M1911 by Colt... And while we're on the subject, Call of Duty buys copyrights to use real firearms in their video games. Every single weapon in Call of Duty is a real firearm.

  • @mjolnirforsworn & then the wonder weapons come in

  • @5B1 haha even his spelling is bad too.

  • you start out with this in cod zombies

  • The american hand cannon. Too bad Nato never heard of an effective handgun.

  • Who needs a rifle when you have this?

  • thats all fucked up the M1911 held 6 in a clip plus 1 in the chamber and colt made the first 1911 45 but the best u can get today that is almost like a colt is a springfield amory A true ass kicker! lol

  • @TheSlayder1000 The M1911 standard magazine capacity is 7 + 1. I am using Wilson Combat magazines, which are 8 + 1. Check your sources.

  • This was the workhorse of the US Military.

My great uncle was lucky enough to aquire one of these M1911's from an american soldier when he was fighting in World War 2 in Papua New Guinea.

He spoke very highly of it's durability, the small mag didn't bother him as at times they were in close combat often and the stopping power was needed.

  • Who makes the original M1911s ? Springfield armoury?

  • I believe it was Colt.

  • 9mm, faster, more accurate, more penetration, .45 acap, stoping power!

  • realistically, how many shots to the chest do you think it would take to knock down/kill someone with no armour or protection of any kind?

  • god i love the 1911. The Army and law enforcement really needs to get rid of the 9mm and go back to the almighty .45

  • 8 shots? i thought it were 7 rounds. but i like 8 rounds. cool video man.

  • its 7+1 in the barrel

  • My Wilson Combat rounds hold eight plus one.

  • 7 in a magzine and 1 in the chaber would make it 8

  • I think the army would be better off just switching to .45

  • yeah but in combat you want a nato round, you want a 9mm over a .45 cause the bullet penetrating whatever the enemy is hiding behind (usually stone or brick) is more important than stopping power. if the bullet isn't going 2 hit whats the difference you know?

  • whatever, i served and ill tell you the nato round is fine, see we shoot straight 2 the head or body mass not like the hajis with their gay aks they just spray everywhere, and how old are u i went when i was 19.

  • lmfao have u ever served?

  • you're a fucking retard, stop playing videogames. nato round is just fine in combat

  • man i wish i knew how the CIA modified these baby's, phew.

  • ill bet they'll sting like a motherfucker!

  • ya, we went from battle rifle rounds to intermediate rounds.. and the 5.56 is the worst offender. the bullet is wayyyy too small for the size of the total round. its basically a PDW round with more powder...

and now THIS. soon well be firing 2mm rounds.

    fuckin redicules.

  • Are these pistols still in production after nearly a century!?

  • Yes, and a lot of companies make them.

Despite the age of the design, the M1911A1 is still a modern pistol operating on principles that newer designs of autoloading semi-automatic handguns also use, such as the recoil-operated slide.

And, the M1911A1 uses robust safety systems (grip safety, thumb safety, internal sear disconnector), though safety is still the ultimate responsibility of the shooter.

  • 1911s are the best handguns in the world. Antiquated they are not.

  • Its very old model, but its realy good handgun.

  • Awesome gun dude

  • Im going to trade my SIG P220 for a M1911

  • Good choice. :)

  • LOL yeah i still haven't gotten it yet tho :(

  • Why did they replace this with the Italian 9mm?

  • Two words: NATO Standardization.

The U.S. was the only NATO member that did not use 9x19MM as the standard pistol cartridge for the armed forces.

With all NATO members using the same pistol cartridge, ammo can be easily supplied to one another.

That said, I still prefer .45 ACP from an M1911.

  • Me too! I really like both weapons but theres just something about the big bang of the .45acp that gives the shooter a strong since of authority when you pull the trigger.

  • Nice. My dad carried one on his hip in Vietnam.

  • Wasn't M1911 oftenly used in World War 1 and World War 2? Just curious thats all...

  • the M1911 was standard issue in WW1,WW2, Korean War, and Vietnam War and still standard until recently the DOD(Department of Defence) decided to replace it with the Beretta M9 in the 1980s

  • im trying to decide btw a colt m1911 and a Springfield Armory XD .45

the colt is a good old American classic that has kicked much ass over the years but it only hold 7 rounds

the XD holds 14 or 13 but i think its kind of an ugly gun

  • sucks doesnt it?

  • personally i would go with the Colt, but just because it's a 1911

  • I'd go with the XD. They're lighter, hold more rounds, and are probably more accurate. I personally haven't fired one. But I've read countless reviews, handled several, and seen several of them fired. They're pretty beastly. The XD in .45 ACP holds 13+1 rounds, by the way.

  • @mjolnirforsworn XD? I was thinking of the FN 5-7 but I would love to know what an XD is

  • damn sounds like it got ome stopping power how many rounds does it hold

  • 7 .45 acp rounds

  • The magazines that I have, Wilson Combat, hold eight.

  • whats the cheaps pistol that can kill people

  • the point of buying a weapon is to not kill people, its to defend yourself

  • the point of defending yourself is to protect you and your family at all costs.

guns weren't made to hurt people they we're made to kill them

  • so why does the US military use Nato 5.56 rounds? so they dont hurt the enemy, just subdue them. Id kill the person if i have to, but id let them suffer for what they were trying to do

  • It's pretty powerful

  • why cant i see the video

    this video was good 3l

  • So witch is thesuperior weapon?

I think it might be the DE, because it has the same ammount of rounds, more accurate and more powerful (50ae). But some say that it kicks too hard and it is too big?

  • the DE isn't that good as a combat weapon. Its too heavy, it fires 50. cal rounds which kick like a mule and its really unreliable. Not only that but it only hods 7 rounds in a mag. most guns hold about 10+ rounds.

  • Agreed. They look cool, particularly the gold ones but they're sure heavy

  • Yeah. I'd buy one just to show off.

  • it doesn't fire .50cal rounds. it fires .50ae (action express) rounds.

have you ever seen a .50 caliber round? it's the size of your middle finger, assuming you have a very long middle finger.

  • Yeah sorry my mistake. I meant to say 50 AE.

  • "Cal" is short for caliber. There are many .50 caliber rounds, and the .50 Action Express is one of them. There is also the .50 caliber BMG (Browning Machine Gun, 12.7x99mm) which is used in the Barrett and the Browning M2, the .50 Beowulf, and the .500 S&W Magnum. All that caliber indicates is that the diameter of the bore of the weapon from land to land is that measurement, be it in caliber or millimeters.

  • sorry, i'm not to keen on bullets.

i use phaser guns. and it's a myth that a phaser beam can be set to stun.

have fun with your outdated, analog fire arms.

  • Is the colt .45 more powerful than the Desert Eagle .357?

  • In a way of ft-lbs of energy, no. On paper the .45 is less powerful, but if you think of it in terms of reality it has more stopping power. Think of the DE .357 being a super-fast baseball while the .45 is a slower bowling ball. It has more mass but it is much slower so it translates into less ft-lbs of energy. Now tell me what is more powerful.

  • the .45 the Deagle is an overrated shit any one who says a DE is better than the m1911 is most likey stupid Counter strike player who thinks he is a gun expert

  • GodDamn the U.S. Military for replacing this. This was the pistol used by our Boys for over 70 years and we replace it with M9. Fear not, .45 lovers, there is a program underway to spend millions making another .45 handgun with higher capacity than M1911, even though many already exist. God Bless Wasteful Spending and the Colt 1911.

  • @SgtDonuts military stupidity at its best.

  • @SgtDonuts Too bad the Joint Combat Pistol program in 2006 was suspended indefinitely, but perhaps in the near future the project might get funding again. Lets cross our fingers cause I'm not so sure the M9 Beretta will do much to an adrenaline fueled enemy.

  • Whats the only downside of shooting an M1911? I heard it jams alot and when it does its a real bitch.

  • You're right. When you're talking competition 1911's with such tight tolerances, they will jam if not properly cleaned often or using modern ammunition with an unpolished feed ramp. It being such an old design it needs upgrades to make it work. The military M1911/A1 has looser tolerances to cope with combat environments so it jammed less. It's highly accurate since it had a short, crisp trigger and a long barrel which is why it's still used in competitions today.

  • My favorite handgun!

  • Mine too!!

  • People down play the sheer power of a .45 pistol.

  • How much does a good, rugged, and reliable M1911 run for in the western states? (No Norinco or other Chinese brands)

  • i just got back from shooting a 1911, good solid built gun, recoil is not that bad either.

  • what a beautiful gun.

  • TT-33 and M1911 are the best hand guns ever!!!

  • fuck glocks =D

  • I Know right. Glocks are good, but there overrated piece of shits used mostly by Niggers that saw it in a game or movie.*Cough 50 cent *Cough.

  • omfg thank you!!

  • They're actually a pretty decent handgun, depending on what caliber and model you select. I have fired a 9mm, .40S&W, and a .45ACP Glock. The trigger pull has been amazing, considering that they are double action. It is light and crisp. Recoil is smooth, and they are easy to aim, but you tend to hit a bit high if you are accustomed to handguns such as the 1911. They also have a very high capacity magazine, 17 in 9mm.

  • Sorry for the late reply, been busy lately. I know that Glocks are some of the finest handguns ever made, and I dont really have anything against them. Im just disgusted that there repetition is being tarnished by people like Curtis Jackson III, and Renny Harlin.

Seriously Glocks are not completely plastic, they can be detected by metal detectors, and for the love of god they are not ment to be shot sideways! Show some respect for the glocks.

  • Is that the .45ACP version or the .38?

  • .45 almost all are .45

  • the only .38 i've seen is chrome

  • why do the same guns sound different on different videos

  • What exactly does half cocking the hammer do?

  • It puts the hammer in such a position that the only way it can be fired is by pulling back the hammer. It also locks the trigger and the safety.

  • Thank you. I've always wondered about that.

  • But, i thought M1911's were single action? What year was that made?

  • Yes. They are single action... on the first shot. After that, they automatically cock the hammer when the slide blows back. Or, as you can see, the slide is already back, and the hammer already cocked.

  • dam thats a nice m1911 ^^ mines all beaten up.

  • So get a new one

  • M1911's tend to require lots of handling and work to keep up, I would easily Prefer an HK Mk23

  • Uh, no, they don't. Simply that. The M1911 is the AK-47 of handguns.

  • I thought the Makarov would be a more appropriate choice for that title. After all it was made in the USSR, like the AK, and both are known for reliabilty. Just my opinion.

  • What mjolnirforsworn said. I think that's the reason it's been around since fuckin 1911. Show me another weapon we use in the military or the civilian world that's been around for almost a century Aslan222

  • I don't understand how to reload an empty pistol, you stick the mag in and then what do you do, I see people charging the top back or pressing that little button on the side, which do you do?

  • You can do both.

  • Colt M1911 is my favoured pistol. It uses 45 cal apc. bullets.U.S.army chainget it to beretta 92 beacuse it was easy to hannde and bigger ammo capasity. Colts only problems are recyl and small ammo capasity (8).it served U.S.amry 1911.1985. :P kinda long time

  • A BB is .177 caliber, but if shot in the eye or it is coming from a high power rifile at close range can possibly penetrate the skull. it would still hurt like a bitch though. lol a .45 caliber would blow pieces of your skull and brain away.

  • um ya dude a .45 caliber would kill u if u got shot in the head a bb gun wouldn't ur a fucking dumbass

  • it can still put a bullet in your kneecaps and head :D

  • So your bb gun has as much power as a .45 caliber bullet

  • good luck trying to buy a real gun you fucking stupid limey.

  • I got shot with a BB gun and it hurted like hell, but at least Im not the one on the ground dying of blood lost.

  • Really, so your BB gun can hurl a 230 grain projectile at a muzzle velocity of 900 feet per second? Produce muzzle energy of 415 foot/pounds? Leave an exit wound the size of a cantelope in a target twenty meters away using Silver Talon rounds? Go away, British fag with your pounds money.

  • actually, if were getting technical, it can fire a 240 grain projectile at a muzzle velocity of 910 feet per second, produce muzzle energy of 418 foot/pounds, leave an exit wound the size of a watermelon in target 24 metres away. using platinum talon rounds. no joke of a lie. shows how much you know about guns.

  • You are a bloody idiot. Come back when you have actually fired a real handgun, not an Airsoft derivative of one.

Nice 1911 by the way. I've got an A-O for a bedside gun; have been thinking of getting a more compact model for a CCW piece.

  • I enjoy how he lists a heavier weight projectile at a higher velocity, when I was merely suggesting the round that the weapon was INTENDED to fire at the velocity of the SAME. The Browning locking system was modified specifically to work at the optimum performance with 230 grain projectiles.

  • It is a Rock Island Armories M1911A1 in .45ACP. Yes, they are for sale, roughly $425 new. Surprisingly, despite its being an inexpensive pistol, it has outperformed many other 1911's that I have seen... However, the extractor is a bit stiff and it can stop up if the slide doesn't close with full force. I plan on getting a new one, along with a tapered magwell and Tritium sights.

  • What manufacturer would you suggest buying from, if not Rock Island?

  • Kimber makes good forty-fives, along with S&W. And, of course, Colt.

  • What about Springfield Armory?

  • Also very good.

  • Just $425? Thank god, a 1911 that's not horribly overpriced.

  • not a big price for a thing that can kill people

  • I've just never understood all these $1000+ M1911s. For a true American weapon that's almost a hundred years old, $1k is ridiculous.

  • Is that an Auto Ordinance GI .45? It looks just like mine and I have an Auto Ordinance. Im digging the Wilson Combat 8 rd magazine you have, same as mine as well!

  • It's an M1911 with .45 ACP.

  • It depends. If you expend all of the ammunition in the magazine, the slide will lock to the rear. You then eject the empty magazine, press the slide catch, and the slide snaps forward, chambering the first round and you're good to go. If you do NOT expend all of the ammunition, you just swap the magazines because you still have a round in the chamber.

  • do they have these for sale anywhere?

  • Just about any gun store worth its salt.

  • Did anyone try and see if pulling the trigger at half cock would fire the live round?

  • It won't, because a half-cocked hammer blocks the trigger. The only way it can fire is if it is fully cocked first.

  • I think its a Rock Island Armory

  • What is the manufacturer of that pistol, Wilson Combat?

  • sweetest auto ever

  • .38 special is a pea shoot compared to any of those rounds. Pesonally id stay away from that P.O.S.

  • .38 special with the right loads and properly placed where needed will drop anyone. One load in particular is known for it: .38 Special 158 grain Lead Semi-Wadcutter Hollow Point +P, aka, the FBI/Treasury/Chicago load.

According to most who've used this loading in a 4 inch barrel revolver, this is as lethal as a .45 ACP 230 grain ball round. Google .38 LSWCHP +P and you'll see.

  • The 1911 and .45 ACP is tough to beat for sure. I have one too. There is one practical defense round that beats it: the The 125 grain jacketed hollow point .357 Magnum. The Browning Hi Power is worth a look too as it was designed by the same man as the 1911. The best rounds for carry in my opinion are as follows: .38 Special, 9mm Parabellum, .40 S&W .45 ACP and the .357 Magnum. All of these calibers have proven records and either of them will serve you well. Some do better than others though.

  • its all simply upon the situation your in id say

  • I have a springfield m1911-a1 love it to death

  • is that a government model?

  • Keep your thumb hard and use your point finger.

Just a comment from a crusty old trooper who shoots 240

at each qualify......but what do I know. LOL

The Colt was a gift....what you make of it is yours.

  • I use 8 round magazines as well...

You gotta love the M1911 in the .45 ACP!

Only pansies get the 1911 in the .38 Super, cause all that is is a hi-power 9mm.

  • With all due respect...you have no idea what you are talking about. Yes a .45 FMJ is drift and a .38 FMJ is drift, but stop thinking about the firearm, start learning about the load. A .45 Corbon works great, as does a 9MM . I'll beat the .45 drum till I die... but idiot...learn of what you speak before posting nonsense.

The M1911 and A1's are carriers; The charge is the round. Grow up and learn about Corbons (JHP)

    1st. CAV, ARMY, Retired

  • Nearly a hundred years old and still in use. Wow.

  • NOTHING is better than a 1911. NOTHING. Feels good, shoots good, looks good. Perfect handgun. Nice video.

I use Wilson 8 round clips.

  • I'm actually starting to like M1911s again. Thank you for re-sparking my interest in them.

  • Yeah, I have little hands, and single stacked handles fit better in my hands. I love my SIG, but a 1911 feels better in my hand.

  • What SIG do you have mine's the P230 & I have the Smith & Wesson 234

  • a OLD 226. it is mint, I think I've put 200 rounds thru it, but it has Sig SAUER on the side, not Sig Arms and has West Germany on the slide, not Conetticut. I have the original box & site in target & everything.

  • Awesome! Kicks like a Mule huh?

  • Not really. It doesn't kick as bad as I initially thought that it would. I also have rubber grips on it to lessen the felt recoil.
