He had no power over the justice system, sense it was all done by the Libyan people, called direct democracy. Under Jeremiah Libyan system meaning that the Libyan's govern them selves. Any laws that were made were made by Libyans and not Gaddafi. He gave up his power in 1975 to hand it over to the Libyan people. His dream was for Libyans to govern then selves

@NoMo7rePain Actually Gadafi was planning to change the currency in Libya and most of Africa to gold. That means that they would be dumping the dollar for oil plan and only be accepting gold for oil. The US and pretty much everyone in NATO could not afford this. So that is why he is dead. Same thing with Saddam, he switched from the dollar to the Euro for oil and the US could not let this happen. Only in that case the other European countries didn't mind. That's why the US fought it alone.
