  • FUCK VEVO! blocked this video!!! I hate them!

  • Chris Thile is a beast

  • robert trujillo \m/

  • This is a fabulous video and a fabulous song! What talent!

  • That was very nice, excellent song and video, hat's off 2 them both!~

    Timothy

    :o)

  • What I still want to see is the reunion tour. Anybody else Agree????

  • Many rock musicians would give up their left nut to have the opportunity to jam with this caliber of talent.

  • I stand corrected. You learn something new everyday.

  • Definitely wouldn't say humbled...he might be a lot more famous than these guys, but most of them are better musicians than Trujilo, especially Chris Thile.

  • Its so cool that Robert Trujillo humbled himself to jam with these young, blue grass musical talent.

  • @chemochinga "Humbled"? Play it again Dude, they all rock :)

  • he didn't actually jam with them more like he was in their video but didn't record on the album from what I have heard. It was odd too see him but in his own right he is not a bad musician otherwise I doubt so many bands would have hired him on the team. I would be curious too know why they chose Trujilo too be in the video but they are musicians and musicians are weird people, we just are. Hopefully Trujilo is a versatile bassist so he could jam with group like NC in the future.

  • is that robert trujillo?!

    sweet :D

  • Yep!

  • thile. hair. wow.

  • @janeisadora2013 Haha his poofy hair days xD

  • holy hell is that the bassist from metalica

  • Lol, yeah.

  • INO i saw that too!, shiit, robert trujillo is the man

  • found this great band ; if you like strumming instruments playing bluegrass

  • I'm so sad they disbanded.

  • they look so young...it's awsome

  • Hello! were in our teenss

hello! Were in our teens and we sing and play bluegrass!!

We have some pretty neat stuff!! We sing, sing harmony and play mandolin and guitar!! check out are page!!

    <3

  • Haha sweet, my friend is a really good bassist.

  • Chris reminds me of an old aquantence of mine of whom I went to grade school with and still see around the area where I live from time to time....

  • It's weird to see Chris Thile's ex-wife in this video. too bad they were only married less than a year.

  • That's the bassist from Metallica!

  • yeah! when you say it

  • that's awesome

  • LOVE THIS SONG!

  • whoa, was that the bass player from metallica? lol

  • yes it is!

  • yup, robert trujillo

  • ahaha iknow right wtf is he doing here haha i checkd this vid out cuz i didnt believe he was in it haha bt im glad i did cuz ive always wonderd what bluegrass was and it sounds pretty cool haha and i call myself a metallica fan haha

  • 4stringfanatico, being a Metallica fan doesn't mean you can't like bluegrass. I'm a huge fan of Metallica and love all kinds of music, even the pop music many metalheads may despise. Being open to music is key, good to hear you enjoyed the song. I didn't believe Trujillo was in it either and that's what landed me on this page. Pretty cool I must say.

  • my little brother, daniel, loves this song, and his only 1 and 1/6 years old!! haha thats funny

  • good! start him out with good music at an early age :)

  • ... i've never had so much respect for Robert Trujillo as i do right now haha

  • @1Meursault1 word!

  • @1Meursault1 Actually the bass on the recording is Edgar Meyer. But that doesn't take anything away from Trujillo who is indeed a beast.

  • wish he would play the octave mandolin more often. such a rich tone.

  • or is it a mandola? always get em mixed up.

  • Fool, its a bouzouki!! (they're all much the same actually, it mostly depends on who makes it as to what its called)

  • actually a mandola is only a fourth(or fifth?) down from a mandolin, as opposed to an octave mandolin which is down an entire octave from a mandolin. a bouzouki is totally different, but comes from the same family of instruments.

  • well a mandocello is a fifth lower so a mandola would be a fourth i guess

  • naw, i just looked it up to double check. a mandola, aka tenor mandolin, is tuned the same as a viola, one fifth lower than a mandolin. apparently mandocello and mandola are tuned the same, i dont know what the difference is.

  • i just looked and a mandola and mandocello are tuned the same like u said. a mandocello is just an octave lower than a mandola. so they r both a fifth lower

  • I think I'll pyle the Family in the mini-van,,and take a drive in the country, (playing this song)....

  • a random stranger from omegle told me to check out the goup

    nice...

    thank you, random stranger

  • GO ROB! he should the crabwalk with that proper bass and all his silly faces

  • ill second that propasition lol

  • METALLICA!

  • hehehehehehehe~

  • I member watching them at a festival on a public access show years ago, now this...amazing...

  • It´s like the instruments were talking to each other. I´ve never heard anything comparable.

  • I have, Their other songs

  • Well, right :-) Not to forget the Chris Thile solo stuff :-)

  • my friends tried to do something like that but it got them kicked out. haha. good song though!

    <3

  • Even Better that Metallica are cool enough to not mind that their new bassist is in a project like this. It would not have happened with Newsted. Cool Vid (coming from a metal head)

  • Robert Trujillo?!

    Metallica's bassist is in this!?

  • yes it's him :D I saw it on wikipedia and i looked this song up. Didnt expected it to be this awesome xD

  • Lol same here. I was just looking at the Rickenbacker he plays then i just so happened to stumble upon this.

  • i read it on wikipedia too!!!!

didn't expect this from him, not that awesome, but i'd still hit that

    haha

  • Look at how long Chris' hair is! lol those boys are too cute

  • Love this song. Who would have ever thought that the bass player from Ozzie Osbourne's band/Metallica would team up with a bluegrass band. Awesome!

  • Love this!!! Love this band! Lil' Jack Slade's awesome too by Dixie Chicks, if you like these bluegrass jams sessions ;)

  • the best bluegrass band ive heard

  • i think this has to be the coolist music video ever

  • First time I heard this song it literally blew my mind. My mind blew up, it went all over the place. Catchiest song ive ever heard.

  • this song makes me want a smoothie!

  • me too ^.^

a smoothie with mango and passion friut

  • lol

  • Is the guy behind the counter Robert Duvall? Sure does look like him.

  • he's Robert Trujillo!!!

    he's the best

  • ROBERT TRUJILLO!!! :D

  • This is bluegrass...

  • It's any of the following genre names:

    Jazzgrass....

    Newgrass...

    New Acoustic Music....

    Dawg Music

  • they only used trujilo for the video lol

  • when i firsst saw this vid earlier today in my music appriciation class. i went whoa thats robert trujillo. i thought it was cool because i am a fan of ozzy, bls, and current metallica all of which he is/was playin with.. so it was good to see him play somethin other that metal

  • He was a friend of the band, but did NOT play on the recording of this song. He is pretending to play someone Edgar Meyer's bass parts. Robert does play the little improv thing at the end of the video after the song ends.

  • Robert Trujillo, first bassist for suicidal tendancies, then moved on to ozzy, then metallica, now nickel creek???? It's awesome to see a true musician branching outside of what's considered "cool" by most rock fans.

  • And the fact that Chris is playing a mandola in this vid.

  • I think it's a bouzouki.

  • Oh that it might be. I hadn't thought of that.

  • I believe you're correct...it's a bouzouki.

  • or a mandola, they're very similar!:)

  • Robert Trujillo being in this always makes me laugh.

  • What are some other bluegrass bands? cause i love nickel creek!

  • i wish i could play like sara watkins :(

  • they r really good!! my music teacher told me about them

  • i just picture this song for like, the very beginning of a movie, out in the country or something.

  • wow, your such a hardcore bluegrass fan!

  • why are you hating on nickle creek. you probably dont even know any other bluegrass bands

  • Try singing and playing like they do, it's difficult but they make it seem so easy. That's why they're good. They're geniuses in so many different aspects that you just don't realize it until you dig deeper.

  • Is that Brian Wilson at 2:44?

  • Ok for sure, guys, who IS this bass player? I'm a trivia buff and I need to know this stuff

  • He's Robert Truillo of Metallica/Suicidal Tendencies.

  • yeah! fucking sick

  • Wait, seriously?! I had no idea. That's effing awesome!

  • These guys are just downright some of the best musicians on the planet! Thanks so much for posting this.

    Banjoistically yours,

    Jon Eric

  • hehe...that was cool, go rob! (at the end)

  • Is it just me or does it seem like he has the urge to crab walk the whole time? XD

And yeah, the end was great

  • Way! It's Robert Trujillo! Great song! Lot's of talent at such a young age!

  • no way the bass guys is from ozzy osbourne and metallica

  • it is

  • it's a pity they parted just when we needed them the most

  • why does god have to take the good ones?! i'm shaking my fist at the sky.

  • The sound of their music really reminds me of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. You should check out their song "Hoedown" and you'll see why I see a similarity.

  • i agree, my dad and i love both bela fleck and nickel creek. we've seen them both in concert and both groups are amazing.

  • Wow, they're talented on their instruments!

  • wow.

    sounds so . . . smoothie!

    i love it!

  • awesome song!

  • METALLICA \m/

  • best song ever

  • Metallicas bass player, Roberto Agustín Miguel Santiago Samuel Trujillo Veracruz, in the background....how cool is that?

  • its funny at the end

  • they need to get back together.

  • Agreed x234324.

  • that is a groovy violin line sara is playing

  • I call this "Music".

  • LOL!

  • Postscript I would define them as Alternative Country. Does that sound ok? I love this group :)and I don't usually listen to country.

  • It does indeed sound good, I think I'm going to go with that. Thanks!

  • Juste énorme ! Roberto a l'air de bien se faire plaisir !

  • Robert Trujillo, WTF??

  • yea, no shit

  • I love these guys, but I hate when people ask what kind of music they play. Then I'm left hanging, trying to explain that they're kind of bluegrass/country, but then people get all turned off of them. They think twangy banjos and stuff (which are all well and good in their own right).

Nickel Creek: You rock! No way to define you! Shame that you went on hiatus and I'm holding my breath until you get back together.

  • just call them folk

  • this song is amazing =)

  • HA HA Rob's playing an up right bass!!!! ^_^

  • I never heard them before,such a nice music!

  • Yeah, dude from Korn is lol,but it is not he

  • Metallica

  • Does anyone know why the hell Robert Trujillo is in this video? Edgar Meyer is the real bassist for this song, and Trujillo doesn't even know how to hold the bow properly...

  • Because rob was at that god danged music shop looking at basses and he just happened to know how to rock out with his cock out ok?! The video still friggin rocks.

  • Touche.

  • he got you in that one cocksucker! jajaajajaajaj

  • I am-- of the grass that may or may not be blue, and I love to come on home to all kynds of smmmmmooooootheeeeeeeezzzzz

  • haha rob trujillo, what a badass.

these are some pretty good tunes

  • Awesome song. Kind of cocky video, though.

  • yup thats big bad rob trujillo

  • Love this song so much, the guy playing the double bass is the bassist from Metallica isnt he? am i right there?

  • fuck no man he's from where i live. which is kentucky. nothing to do with metallica im sure.

  • .... noo that is robert truijillo the current bass player in metallica

  • and i bet you someone is going to reply to this saying im a redneck or something but im not. AT ALL. As a matter of fact, i hate country music and RAP rap sucks dick. Metal all the fucking way.

  • OK fair enuf! Was just told that by someone...i wouldnt go so far to say i hate country music myself but im a punk at heart lol!! so yeh dnt worry bout it Red Neck! (Only joking!! :D)

  • haha alright well take care

  • anyways, CCR and me are from England, so we couldn't give a damn if you were redneck or not! hahaha, keep rockin

  • what "RED NECK "mean?

  • uumm actually he is in metellica.

  • ole robert trujillo doesnt act half as retarded as he usally does lol but i do love him

  • really glad i saw them a while back

this album was in my car for a couple weeks

  • Wait, isn't that the bassist from Metallica?

  • Yes, it is

  • I love how they can capture the essence of bluegrass and with no words, sing a beautiful song with passion behind it.

  • this song is so awesome! I like the ending part! =D

  • nice!

  • I couldn't belive my eyes when I saw Robert Trujillo xD

  • Robert Trujillo is a beast

  • the instruments sing for themselves :D

  • Chris Thile is such a spaz--I LOVE IT.

  • ROFL taz

  • hahaha wow i wasnt expecting to see metallicas bassist in this

  • That fiddle player is a babe, if she were a president she would be Baberham Lincoln

  • Funny.. NOT!

  • It's from Waynes World. Haven't you sen Waynes World?

That movie should be a part of the curriculum in ever school district

  • i love how metallica's bass player is in this video just jamming
