Especially Vic Elford drove all the beasts, 917 (the only driver who drove all types), Alfa Romeo tt 33, Chaparral(my favourite), Shadow....

In my opinion he was the best(allrounder)!!

He still visits Oldtimerevents or Races;next year i try to get him,smile!!!

At 2:35 you see were the sudschleife starts. To bad they didn't use it too. Wish they had used it more, maybe then it wouldn't have parts of it used for public roads. The rest is neglected or completely abandoned. ;(

Does anyone know what laptimes the cars like the 917, 908, 512, etc. etc. were running during this race and during qualifying?

Go to racingsportscars(DOT)com --> Photo Gallery --> World Championship and find the race you want to see, e.g. in this case Nurburgring 1000km.

Despite that it's called photo gallery, it also lists qualifying times and other neat info.

Ferrari 312 was on pole in this race, with 7:36.100
