I'm an avs fan and Roy was who inspired me to play goalie, but I gotts say he did lose this one. I wouldn't say he got his 'ass beat' because if you watch the whole thing and ignore the Red Wings announcers, Roy gets in his shots.

The thing I liked most about this fight though is it involved 2 goaltenders who played in a time when goalies were ALWAYS feisty. Vernon was a Back-up to Hextall, and Roy once challenged Hextall but Ron was double teamed by the refs.

That's not too bad... That puts them at almost dead even with cups per years playing with the Red Wings.

Actually, I stand corrected. I watched this fight on another video from a different angle and it shows that Vernon grabs and lifts Patrick's leg to get him offbalance and to make him fall.
