know there is another performance of the same song live (this one is good, really good as they play as in the studio, I love that), where I think the quality of the video is better. Remember is not the same shot as this one, is another time they filmed it. Someone knows? I saw it here in youtube long ago.

”So as you can see, a bunch of lawyers and promoters (the very people who have a long history of ripping off bands like Grand Funk and many others) are behind this Sham Rock Hall Of Fame ...please do not support these leeches of the musicians.
In 1983, A small group of music industry professionals led by Atlantic Records Founder and Chairman Ahmet Ertegun and including Rolling Stone magazine publisher Jann Wenner, attorney Allen Grubman, manager Jon Landau and record executives Seymour Stein, Bob Krasnow along with attorney Suzan Evans set out to establish an organization to “recognize the people who have created this music which has become the most popular music of our time....
This performance along should put them in the Rock N roll Hall Of Fame! But as we know now, The RHOF is a bunch of non rock people who surely are too toasted after years of doing drugs ...
wow first time I've ever heard and see these guys, holy shit. I've got a tons of respect for them now! WOW amazing live performance!!!! whoever that guitarist is he's got soul lots of it.
@iguisard I saw Mark Farner 2 years ago with his' new band in Portsmouth, Ohio The were great . His voice and guitar work was as good as ever! You know, if YOUTUBE would add all the different sites that have shown this vid,it iwould be in the millions. The PACKEDFFUNK site already has almost 2 million views. Everyone should sign the Online Petition and help get this great American Band into the hal of fame. Untill then it's the HALL of SHAME.
@taximan55 the ax is a hollow body aluminum , with the f holes covered over with duct tape. one more oddity, this ax has abuilt in FUZZBOX. If you look closely you can see the switch. I took out the guts of my DOD distortion pedal, then dug out a cavity in my Explorer, and cramed in the guts , I drilled holes in front of the front v nob and ran the level, gain and on off controls. PRETTY COOL! to have all that at my fingertips. I also maderoom for 9v. bat. I have 9 to retrofit=mony

I just read that...amazing,no wonder i have never been there.also did not know that Bowie told them to stick it.hell yea good for him.GFR was and still is a legend they combine rock n roll with real soul and have fun doing it,lots of energy there double live album called "Caught in the Act " is a master peice and a must have.the song closer to home was once played on the deck of a aircraft carrier on its way home from Vietnam
im 17 years old ..nd i love classic rock ....is just the best music in the entire world....my favorite bands are GFR, CCR, LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, QUEEN, ROLLING STONES AND SOME OTHERS...but i dnt remember now....!!!...
Saw them last night at Caesars Windsor (8/29/09) and was I glad they played Inside looking Out, my favorite from Grand Funk Live. First time i've seen them live, I was too young in 70-72. They did a great job, Mel gave the best best bass performance I've heard in a concert in years. Don was clearly the outgoing leader and did a good job. The singer was adequate and the guitarist did a good job (learned Mark's cords well). Good, hard driving, no frills hard rock.
This video sounds very much like the version on the original Grand Funk Live album. Absolutely great jam !!! This song sealed me as a hard rocker for life. That guitar solo in the middle has an absolutely fantastic sound!
I listened only to the usual music (Eminem and sort) until 5 years ago when I found my dad's Made in Japan from Deep Purple, and now I won't even touch music of today. High-five for your kid.
Yeah, Peter, your right in the beginning there were Mark, Don and Mel. Graig Frost was in the background. Graig Frost became official member when they bring out the Album We are a American Band of was it the Phoenix album?
Nice Nice Video. I really loved your video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed, check out this site called tubeviews [dot net] It has really done wonders for me, I have built 3 Channels up with videos at top in position and this is my forth channel i'm going to working on.
Thats My band.........Always have been and always will be!!!!!!!!I I'll go to my grave knowing that they set the standard by which I judged the rest.......Jan Wenner can kiss my ass............Hall Of Fame.......
Even on the smaller drum kit Brewer can still do the drums like no other. Farner on the harmonica is awesome. Of course, Mel...top bass player of all time. Primo!!!
I cann't get enough of this song and video, is one of the best GFR songs!!! Please Mark, Don, Mel and Graig go back in time and create more these kind rocksongs or the style of E Pluribus Funk or Survival. I know you can create more this kind of great music!! God bless you all!!!
The Great American Power Trio that laid down the foundation for all other power trios to follow !!!. WoW could you imagine being in the audience for the taping...Don & Mel are the greatest rhythm section ever. Long Live Grand Funk "The American Band" Crankerny
Were Mark to agree to reuinite GF in earnest would it make any difference to the situation with the HOF? Certainly they shouldn't have to just to get in, but maybe need to remind these idiots what was what. I've seen Don drumming as recently as 2005 and Mark playing as recently as 2007 and I have no doubt they could still rock it.
I still frankly find it astonishing that GFR hasn't been inducted yet. Jeebus these guys left a defenite mark on R & R. For me, these guys were the best 3 piece in R & R history, point blank.
When so many undeserving people/groups have been inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame, it's unbelievable that GFR hasn't! Please, everyone follow PackedFunk's link to the petition to get them inducted. they are more than worthy!!!
The New York Daily News' Nationwide Readers' Poll for 1971.
Tens of thousands of votes were cast from every state in the nation. Whe the final score was tallied, Grand Funk Railroad had garnered a whopping 75% of the total vote as "Best Rock Group In The U.S." Left to split up the remaining 25% were: 2 Creedence Clearwater, 3. Jackson Five, 4. Led Zeppelin, 5. Three Dog Night, 6. The Who, 7. Sly, 8. Santana, 9.Chicago, and 10.Ten Years After!
My information about this video is that it's not from November '69, but from mid May 1970 (maybe 15). Most probably, they played at least one more song (Into The Sun) that day at the Hershey studios, that I think it was scheduled to be included in the Red remastered cd as a bonus track, something that never happened...
If someone has more info about it, please, let us know...

@PackedFunk probably because mark is a Christian.

@PackedFunk They are so lame that they have also ignored groups like Emerson, Lake and Palmer, the pioneers of progressive rock.
