  • Tell Jan Helfeld to quit calling in and wasting other callers time. We don't need to hear details about debates and other boring comments he has. Geez! Other than that, interesting answers as usual from Stef.

  • around minute 15... did stef said culture es a good thing????

  • @video

    @33:42

I never knew you were a therapy show... Good job on answering that question..

I personally was sitting here furrowing my brow trying to hear and understand what the lady was saying..and I couldn't figure that out, so I was like, where is she going with this?

You have more patience than I do...

  • It's not therapy, just the philosophical virtue of honesty applied in daily life... :)

  • @stefbot

Hmm... I suppose where I was going with my comment was why would someone with depression or personal problems call into you like that?

I mean, the subject matter you seem to cover.. seems to relate more with independent thinking, government, state.. things in that ball field.

(Its the equivalent of me walking into a grocery store, and asking for ammunition) It's just confusing and doesn't make sense.

Of course I am a new fan of yours, so maybe you cover more subject matter.

  • I also must admit honestly, the main reason I watch you is because of your discussions about free market, and government.

  • Sorry if this seems picky, but Stefan's 'restaurant' analogy really doesn't address the issue raised by the first caller, since a restaurant doesn't force you to stay and eat the same meal. We don't have a choice as to whether we are affected by the system currently, so I think it's entirely reasonable to feel that working within the system is an option.

  • Yes but to get to a place where you can "make a difference" you'll have to kill a few babies first. By that time you'll be in too deep.

  • Lol. As long as I get to eat them afterwards, I'm ok with that.

    ...

  • I think it's reasonable to feel and think about that too, I just don't think it will work.

  • It;s not picky. You are correct. The restaurant analogy is not correct. A much better analogy is violence. If someone uses violence as a means to attack you, you must use violence as a means to defend yourself, even if you abhor violence.

The analogy between violence and politics is much more obvious. Not defending yourself with violence will just get you dead or injured. Not defending yourself with politics will just get you oppressed.

What's the alternative, Stef? Out with it!

  • LOL I love watching Steph rock back and forth like a fighter in his corner waiting for the bell. (Ding!)

  • I love these call shows, but WHEN are you gonna post the Great Debate?

  • The problem is that he didn't bring his camera and is relying on other people to get the video to him.

  • I'd love to call in. L2 use ventrillo so it's free tho.

  • He's tried vent, but it didn't work out well enough.

  • Great show. When you were talking about sharing personal things with people you thought you were close to and the reaction you got (or non reaction lol)... I can relate 100%
