One thing is for certain: like majority of people in the world, she does not like Communist (think of North Keroea, Cuba, ...). That was the main reason she was not able to perform in mainland China. However, this did not prevent her song spreading to mainland like wild fire since mid-1970s!

I don't think her appearance is so so at all, if you look at her from the standard at that time and culture.
I'm almost 25 years younger than her, and I think she looks exceptional. Angelic is the only word I can use to describe her beauty.
