do you need all three clippers or can u use one of those for all around cutting . because i recently purchased the fast feeds good machine i love it.. i usually do regular fades and tapper fades... and i have a andis t liner the regular but i need a better trimmer what do u recomend that will cut all the way down. cus those cut short but not all the way bald

@TheMossburg1 its all a matter of personal preference i started with the wahl senior then the andis master and then i got some fast feeds... i use them all for chopping down and fading/blending... and for line ups i use andis t outliners and wahl detailers...but from experience you should start with the andis master if you can afford it if not then go for the senior... you can get both on amazon for pretty cheap

I'm an african american and I want to get a short flatop for the winter. I want my sides/back to be low and smooth so i want to cut it with a 1-1/2 blade.

And I want the top to be half an inch long, so will i need a 3-3/4 blade?

I want everything to be smooth so i wanted to use a blade instead of a guard, is this good?

Plus I have waves so i want to know if this will have any affect if I go with or against the grain

AD I was reading alot of your post and people comment about you fading in the neck out and not using guards...I agree with you. I was talking to my barber and he said that you don't need a guard to fade the neck out. I am just starting out and currently cutting my son hair...I use andis masters and to fade his neck out, just started of close (low) and worked the level open (high). What guards can I use if I wanna give my son an all even 1/2? Keep that knowledge AD, definately got cut game

@JerrellScoggins The metal gaurds are made by Valcro. They work better with straight hair or low curly hair. They tend to snag on thick curly hair. However it is a good tool.

Andis small nano magnetic guards are awesome. They fit snug dont bite and are made but Andis for Andis.....amazon has all 5 blades for like $11 dollars. 0-4 sizes. Thick plastic

no matter what gaurd you use they will break.just always have an extra set for when they do.also on that metal gaurd,when the metal hook on it breaks ,which it will.its a pain in the ass to get vaucro to exchanged them..........p.s just always have an extra set of guards,theres no easy way around.

@kyesto blades are diff. i have both blades and i use them on my fade master clippers. fademasters get closer. and are really good with fades, master blades imo work better with guards
