thanks ljwl. Great idea with the Bucket List, btw. I can just see it, Jack Nicholson going on about living life to the fullest to Morgan Freeman on the beach, then running into Death and being forced into playing chess against their will.
No, the Godard version would have Xur and the Kodan Armada, they would just be pawns in an orchestrated, nonsensical war. Yeah, Centari would definitley be an amoral capitalist in the Godard version, just exploiting Alex for proft, which is why he would feel angst aginst the system after his heroic deeds..The audio is from Alphaville, Godard's only sci-fi film. His stuff is a trip, especially Weekend. Beware, it is comically pretentious at time, which is why I thought this mashup is funny....
ahh yes, but from the French existentialist viewpoint of Godard, he would probably portray Alex as disguntled with The System, frustrated from lack of recognition of his accomplishments and so forth, so this version would not be pro Xur or pro Star League. It would be pro NOTHING. So Godard. So French. Henceforth, FUNNY (somewhat).
Ah I see, so no Xur or Kodan Armada in the Godard version? If that is the case then I would agree that Alex would be a unimportant functionary, Shanghaied by that amoral capitalist "Centauri". I must admit I'm not familiar with Godard's work but watching this has made me want to look into it. Where did you get the audio for this?
By the way they are making a Last Starfighter sequal in 2010
As someone who went through a Godard phase and who loved "Last Starfighter" as a kid, I can only rate this as pure genius. Nice parallel to Godard's use of automobiles as "spaceships" in Alphaville in the beginning!
I would recommend doing "Francois Truffaut's 'Cherry 2000'" ('Fahrenheit 451' soundtrack) - somebody? Anybody!?

I haven't even watched any Godard and this is gutbustingly hilarious. Five meaningless stars, or should I say, one like.
Now, for Ingmar Bergman's The Bucket List...

And this is a very funny vid, good work.

Alex Rogan was not a tool of the intergalactic state. He is a HERO that saved the Star League and Earth from the Kodan Armada.
Whoever made this is obviously a pro-Xur propagandist.

Almost three thousand views for such an esoteric gag? I salute you!

5 stars - I only saw this movie once as a kid - and that clone in the bed was the reason. Absolutely freaked me out when I was 10!

I concur- I had absolutely had the exact same reaction to this, and I was 10 as well..
