if you make the Kramer version then its white..red..then ..black..

@revchild Flase. If you did that then you white line would be on top of your black lines. Look at Ed's 5150, the black lines are on top of his white lines, by his method of painting (painting the color then roll the tap around) your first color overlaps your second. It's a simular method of how he did the Frankenstein.

@TheMadMusicMan no the black lines are on top of the white once you peel the tape. it looks like its awhite body with black stripes on it..watch j5150 vids or jbstuff vids...for the frankie style paint job..the 5150 kramer one pickup is different...different guitar and paintjob.

@revchild No. If you paint your black lines first then your black will be on top. If not, then they won't be. Of course the 5150 is a different paint job and guitar, but the order of colors was still the same. I made a Kramer Frankenstein replica, not the Kramer 5150 but the Kramer ad guitar and I used the 5150's back. You do Black, White, Red. You can't paint stripes affter you've done your top coat....

dude no offense...but tcherassi1's evh paintjob is soooo much better....this isnt even the original evh replica paintjob...tcherassi1's is an sg model but the stripes are like almost the same and he made some parts all scrathed out like in the original one..AND!!!AND he also PAINTED THE NECK!!!out of his own head..he made up stripes and shit and it looks sooo fukin awsome...im not even kdiding...its msot beatuful guitar paintjob ive ever seen...check him out ...

actually no cu u can easly tell cuz i was reading an interveiw of evh talking about the 5150 and the 1984 guitar and he said quote " I wanted a different striped guitar that was not the same as the frankenstrat" also find pics of the 1984 model you can tell the black wuz spray painted cuz you can see the resido that the paint left and on the 5150 the blck stripes on it half way faded away

Don't fix up the running black, I would suggest leaving it. It's a beautiful guitar with PERFECT paint. But IMO it's the guitar of gods when it's got some perfect flaws.

you put two pieces of tape about an inch away to make the thick black stripes. and you paint in between them. you can also put copy paper over the parts where you dont want the black.

my advice is before u put anything in the body, like a neck, pcikups, electronics, anything at all, id smash it off of a desk a couple times then take a lighter to it and get some little burn marks on it, make it vintage looking
