God is NOTHING like that... he is one kind God.... does the little statue god move? breathe? talk? or even HELP YOU?! I dont think so.... But God is the creator of us all and its not because God wanted to punish us... its because of Satan (Lucifer) He tempted Adam and Eve to sin and so God had to punish us for our sins. But instead os punishing US by dieing he let his own son be the lamb for out sins... so Its OUR fault we sin.... but thats our nature.. we are NOT perfect.. God is a LOVEING God.
@Nailon13 Lucifer is punishing us.Job got punished not from God but from Lucifer. He was sure that it was his richness that made him love and trust God,but Lucifer took everything away from Job and even made him sick, but Job still loved God.God is punishing us because of what we do but the punishment is dieing at old age.It made God sad to have this punishment. He never wanted to do it in the first place. For those who believe in him will be in heaven, they will NEVER die or be frustrated
Believing in a *God* that spills more blood than the *devil* you christians fear, believing that if you put blind trust into him you will be able to go to a perfect place with no death or fear.Makes perfect sense huh?
God forgave my sins on the 6th of May 2010. Before I could get saved, God convicted me of the awfulness of sin. It's not just conscience bites that you can suppress; it's a state called conviction: you feel the wrath of the ultimate judge. I felt so hopeless, but then Jesus came to my mind. I prayed one little simple sentence: God, forgive me - because of Jesus. And it was done. The burden of my sins was gone. You have to experience it! Then you'll know it's true. No other way to find out.
Also we are not punished for what Adam and Eve did if your going to base your lack of a belief on something please at least know what your talking about. MUCH LOVE AND GOD BLESS BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU AND NO ONE DIES AN ATHIEST. I LOVE YOU TOO :) However I'm sure you'd think I'm really awful cuz if you think God is awful there's no way I could let someone rape or beat my other children and then if they said sorry I'd welcome them into my home that's God all forgiving I'm working on it though.
Wow and to think all this time I thought it was the Evil one Satan; and rather you like it or not he exists n he is the one who wants u in hell not God the bible makes clear that God wishes not even ONE perish because we r all his children in fact SO MUCH SO THAT WE CAN MURDER PEOPLE, RAPE THEM, BEAT THEM, DO DRUGS, DRINK AND HE LOVES US SO MUCH ALL HE WANTS IS AN "I'M SORRY" so if u say God is bad by your standards you must think your awful could u 4give those things n still love the offender?
Well...that makes sense. And when you consider that the original sin was a total setup, doesn't that make this god creature even more of a monster? He wanted to do this to humanity from the start. We had no chance at all. Not knowing the difference between good and evil, and having no knowledge of anything, why wouldn't Eve have eaten the fruit when God said, "Eat it and you'll die," NOT "I forbid you to eat it," and the serpent said, "You won't die."
@MrGambito7 How is it proven?Oh and I guess you believe in the other savior stories that had people "rising" from the dead after being seen killed or prior to the execution of said savior.Since they obviously had the power if everyone saw them die and they came back. Also,if the reserrection is true, why are there no accounts from eye witnesses who saw the zombies who came out of their graves?Did people just think that that wasn't worth writing about for everyone else?
Everything you just said is perfectly correct. Except one thing: God HATES sin. He hates it so much (because He is holy AKA set apart from sin), that the price of sin is, in fact, death. And so humanity sins, setting us apart to be condemned forever. He could have just left it at that. He is still God no matter what. He could have said, "Hey, they sinned. They can pay for it."
But no, He decided to take the punishment we so much deserved, so we could be redeemed.
@justthisstupid Because He hates what is wrong. He is love because even though we sinned, He still went out of His way to pay for what humanity deserved.
@MrGambito7 ..you just twisted the whole story, or have the wrong end of the stick..please refer to the sequence of events again.. without assuming god hates wrong, but forgives repentance..actually read into the text please
@MrGambito7 We sinned? Isn't part of the point of this video that we're being forgiven for something we didn't even do?! I didn't steal any chocolate or eat any fruit, thanks.
@MrGambito7 "All who sin apart from the law, and all who also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law." (Romans 2:12) Am I missing something here, or is it you? Where does this only apply to Jewish people? It says ALL in each clause, as in everyone. The entire passage is directed to humanity in general.
@MrGambito7 "All who sin apart from the law" refers to the Gentiles. "[A]ll who also perish apart from the law" refers to people who died never hearing of Yahweh. "[A]ll who sin under the law" refers to people who know God's law. "[...] will be judged by the law." Meaning everyone will be judged by God's stupid laws, even people who have never heard of him.
@MrGambito7 Also, if you read the entire passage, you get a biblical admittance to the fact that other societies with different gods developed good, decent morals without almighty big-g God's guidance. Many pagan morals coincide with those in the Mosaic laws. That's what the bible itself says. And that's why it also says that everyone will be judged by God's laws. Therefore, based on what you believe in, you have to admit that EVERYONE is capable of knowing what is moral, including the deranged.
@justthisstupid And you also have to admit that you believe in objective morality. Meaning that God did not change his mind about what he considered moral, and that ALL of the Mosaic laws still apply to today. So if you are truly a Christian, feel free to have as many wives as you want, get your brothers together and go destroy cities full of sinners, stone all who oppose you including your children if they displease you, and pray constantly instead of ever seeing the inside of a hospital.
@MrGambito7 You are quite the thinker! Regurgitating bible dogma is much preferable to thinking isn't it? You watched this whole video and missed the completely simple and repeated point. Sad.
I understand why you say that we are being punished for something we didn't do. I don't claim to understand God, but I know that its not just about being blamed for eating the "chocolate." Each one of us have messed up in some way or another, and that's why we need His forgiveness.
And also, if some guy has the power to rise from the dead, I'd believe He knows what He's doing. And Jesus' existence is proven by more than just the bible
@MrGambito7 Woe, woe, woe. Hold everything a sec before we get into a huge fight over the existence of Jesus. What about GOD'S sins? In the old testament, God repeatedly broke his own rules, but still claimed to be perfectly just and perfectly good. If you believe in Noah's ark, you also believe that God slaughtered most of the ENTIRE WORLD! Including all the animals, who have no knowledge of right or wrong (debatably). He also commanded his people to kill, conquer, and take up stones.
@justthisstupid Again, I don't claim to know God, but God IS Jesus... He destroyed mankind because they had become evil. And yes, He knew they would, but He had Noah in mind. He had US in mind. It's like asking why a loving mother would bring a child into this world of disease, knowing that the child would suffer in one way or another? The answer: The mom knows that happiness, joy, love, etc. are, BY FAR, way more valuable. God knows that no amount of darkness can hide a spark of light.
@MrGambito7 But God didn't just give birth to us. And human mothers are NOT perfect. You can't reasonably compare one to an omnibenevolent god in the way that you did. If you believe that he created us (every component that makes us human. Dreaming up every cell and impulse.) then you must believe that he created us in his image. And therefore a great part of that image must be evil. How could humans have evil inside them at all if the being that made them was entirely good?
@MrGambito7 Do you know how terrible dying is? Drowning to death? Well do you at least have an idea? Are you aware of how great the suffering is that has always been in the world, regardless of the time period? You write off all the deaths of sentient people and innocent children in this supposed great flood (and there would have been children and unborn babies that died as well as animals and plant life), because one man and his family survived.. leading to OUR existence?
@MrGambito7 Sorry about that. *facepalm* I meant to quote "NO ONE is innocent, young or old," So then God is not innocent, is he? If he created everything, then he had to have been able to know good from evil himself. Why is it not a sin for him to have knowledge of evil, even though he clearly uses it for his own purposes in the bible? What is this glory you speak of? The glory of being the same as everyone, only claiming otherwise (and being invisible)?
@justthisstupid God is not "innocent" by definition. He knows everything, and it's not a sin for Him to know good and evil because He is God. He is NOT the same as us. He is almighty, He is all-powerful. You can't say that He's one of us because He's not.
@MrGambito7 Romans 3:23 huh? "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," - NIV bible. You may think this means that the god in question has glory over humans, but according to my study bible, the "glory of God" is what God intended humans to be. So based on your own lore, God wants his people to be like him completely, or to choose to be like him, which is why he has heaven waiting for them. And when they are filled with "the power of Jesus" *tries not to laugh*, they are perfect.
@MrGambito7 "God is not "innocent" by definition." Well, I agree with you there. Obviously the god we're talking about could not be innocent of any of the tragedies and monstrosities of this world. But even though you have stated that it is not a sin for him to know what evil is, that he is not the same as us, and that he is omnipotent, and blah blah blah, you have not offered any evidence of any of these things. It's one thing to just say it. It's another to actually relate answers.
@MrGambito7 If you believe that God wrote the bible, or inspired people to write it, then you must accept the fact that it would be biased anyway. Even if a god did beam those words into his scribes' heads, would they not be biased? I can lie like a flash and say I'm all powerful! Oh yeah! Obey ME, pretty plz? Of course, maybe that's why your God puts so much emphasis on faith? I'd say based on God's actions (all the birth defects, natural disasters, plagues, etc.) he has major anger issues.
@MrGambito7 Sorry I typed so much in response, but just one more thing. You said: "What bigger love is there on this this earth than a mother's love for her child?"
Are you an idealist or what? Because what about all the mothers who murder their children? You do realize that the feeling of "love" is stimulated in the human mind by a series of neurotransmitters and hormones??
@justthisstupid Love is sooooooo much more than neurotransmitters in your brain... The people that kill their kids didn't want them to begin with. That's the true core of the problem. The only reason I brought that up was to realize that magnitude of God's love for us.
And yes, He wants us to strive for holiness with His help.
Well He is NOT the same as us so we can't compare ourselves to Him.
All the defects of this world are not God's actions. He is all-powerful, but He does not abuse it.
@MrGambito7 What more is love then?.. Clearly you have not studied the brain, probably not even human physiology in general if you don't know what causes us to feel.
"The only reason I brought that up was to realize that magnitude of God's love for us." XD Yes the love of a psychotic mother with postpartum depression who regretted ever having children so she drowned them! Guess your analogy fits when put in THAT perspective.
@justthisstupid Are you really limiting the beauty and complexity of love to some mere neurotransmitters?? Yes, I understand the science behind why we feel, but true love and consciousness is soooooooo much more than mere chemicals hopping from neuron to neuron; synapse to synapse.
@MrGambito7 "Are you really limiting the beauty and complexity of love to some mere neurotransmitters??" And to hormones.. And to perceptual factors/cues... But yeah, that's what I'm doing. I know, I'm a bastard.
You know, without your cerebral cortex, you would be in a coma right now? You would be able to breath and regulate your heart rate, if your brain stem was intact. There have actually been cases of babies being born this way; missing parts of their brains. They usually die.
@justthisstupid You have your brain to thank for your ability to see, hear, touch, taste, smell, as well as to think and feel. People who are born with abnormalities can end up as narcissists and psychopaths, and it is not because they have chosen not to be normal. Some people are more susceptible to amorous feelings, and some are asexual. Who one falls in love with is a choice for some people, but an impulse of attraction and protective instincts for most.
@MrGambito7 "The people that kill their kids didn't want them to begin with." Untrue, plain and simple. This is a rather naive thing to say, as many psychopaths enjoy torturing their children. They have them just to hurt them because of how powerful it makes them feel, or to get sympathy from others and appear more normal. People killed their children for human sacrifices to their gods, as mentioned in the bible. Oh yeah, according to your own god: Exodus 21:15 and Leviticus 20:9.
@justthisstupid Every verse you're pulling is from the Old Testament, which was the time of the law. After Jesus came, we now live by grace. Jesus showed the perfect example when the Pharisees brought an adulteress before Him and said, "The Law commands us to stone such a woman. What do we do?" Jesus, full of love and mercy, says, "Whoever is without sin can cast the first stone." One by one they walked off.
God came to show his LOVE and MERCY, not to condemn. John 8:1-11
@MrGambito7 "Every verse you're pulling is from the Old Testament, which was the time of the law." I've heard this argument before from other Christians, so instead I'll use some new testament verses to illustrate my points. Here's a good one: "It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB) Jesus sure had a certain way about him. A baffling one that is.
@MrGambito7 How about this: "All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness [...]" (2 Timothy 3:16) Sounds binding.
And this: “Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law" (John7:19). You know, lying can be life-savingly useful given certain circumstances. But apparently, it's still an act of murder with your tongue! And why isn't "Do not rape" one of the ten commandments?
@MrGambito7 You say that in the times of the Old Testament, people lived by strict law and now we live by grace. Then how could the almighty god not have made the world so that we would live by grace and peace from the beginning instead of starting so bloody and gruesome?
@isky1357 Because of SIN. That's why they lived by law. That's why they had to sacrifice spotless lambs to cleanse themselves. When Jesus died, He was the perfect lamb that cleansed the whole world's sin, and THAT'S why we live by grace now. Because even though we were sinners, Christ died for us.
@chriswonderboy In Old Testament times, people had to sacrifice lambs that were 1 year of age and spotless in order to atone and cleanse their sin.
When Jesus came, He WAS that perfect lamb on a much larger scale. He was perfect and spotless, so He could die and atone/cleanse us from our sin. Now He gives the privilege of forgiveness to all that want it.
@MrGambito7 You keep saying that because Jesus was the "perfect lamb" that we are now "saved by grace". But just listen to yourself. If God is perfect, then he need never change the way that his moral system works. A perfect being does not need to update its morals, or arrange for a different system of morality. But if things are different now, after Jesus was sacrificed, then obviously God changed his mind about forgiveness. That is why what you believe does not make any sense to us atheists.
@MrGambito7 "In Old Testament times, people had to sacrifice lambs that were 1 year of age and spotless in order to atone and cleanse their sin." This doesn't make sense because if we humans sin and are dirty before God, then an animal of lower intelligence will INDEFINATELY sin and not even feel guilty about it. How can a lamb be spotless if it is constantly "sinning"? Especially if a human baby is considered a sinner? Christians love to say "We are all sinners, young and old". I think YOU did.
@MrGambito7 Of course, one nonreligious explanation for animal sacrifice is that olden societies of humans would become fearful of their unpredictable environments and very superstitious about storms, death, and plagues. They were intelligent enough to connect the bad things that happened to them and apply their experiences to something out of their control, but they lacked scientific knowledge of the mechanics of nature. So they offered peace to the unseen beings who dwelled in the heavens.
@MrGambito7 Oh and btw, lambs weren't the only things sacrificed in the old testament. In fact, there were many different animals used for sacrifices. Including animals that had already mated (sin!!?), or in Noah's case hopefully they already did or their species would have gone extinct. I'm running on the assumption that you already know all about this though, and you only used the baby lambs as an example?
@justthisstupid I am aware that your brain is responsible for the way we think and act. What I'm saying is that by limiting love to hormones, binocular/monocular perceptual cues, etc. your limiting love. Love transcends beyond all of that to a deeper aspect of humans.
And when Jesus says things about the law, He is directing Himself to the Jews, which live by law. Romans 2:12
And it may sound binding, as you have put it, but God wants us to submit to Him. He gave up everything for us.
@MrGambito7 Look, about the love thing, I know I sound like a chunk of cold metal when I talk about its mechanics. Even some of my friends, who are mostly atheists, tell me that. But your brain and your body is what enables you to do EVERYTHING that you are capable of. If there was a spiritual part of your body, in reality it doesn't seem to be needed for any metabolic processes, functions, or senses. The fight or flight response. Aging. Mental illness. How we work is not by spiritual means.
@MrGambito7 "And it may sound binding, as you have put it, but God wants us to submit to Him. He gave up everything for us." ... YES. EXACTLY! God wants us to submit to HIS WORDS!!!! Including the ones he wrote in the old testament. *facepalm*
@justthisstupid But then what He did with the adulteress doesn't make sense! He wants us to love others.
And the lamb is the way things worked, dude. Look it up. The lamb was a symbol of God cleansing the sins.
And I COMPLETELY understand where you're coming from on the love thing. The basics for love lie within the mechanics, yes. But they are soo much more. If you've ever experience true love, you know that.
What I'm saying is that the Law is not the ONLY thing we're supposed to live by.
@MrGambito7 "But then what He did with the adulteress doesn't make sense! He wants us to love others." Exactly. It's a contradiction. But just as I can't fairly cherry pick all the verses that prove my points and ignore the fluffier, happier ones, you can't go by all the good verses and ignore the harsh, disgusting ones. If you believe that the entire bible was inspired directly by God's words, then you must see everything that is wrong with those words as well as what can be accepted as good.
@justthisstupid What I'm saying is: God could have very well kept on living by the law, and we would all be condemned. Just like we were in the first place... But no. Out of complete mercy and love he decides to say, "Wait, here's another chance." Jesus came to show that love and compassion to those that needed it. "Does a doctor go to heal the healthy? No, he goes to the sick. Jesus came for those who needed that love, mercy, and second chance.
@MrGambito7 "The lamb was a symbol of God cleansing the sins." Well actually, I think you mean the lamb was a symbol of God's nature, the other part of that nature being the lion. Based on what I remember from Revelations anyway. I've always found it interesting how the devil was also compared to a lion. But anyway.. If you aren't supposed to live by God's law, then what are you supposed to live by? O.o It says pretty clearly in the bible what is to be condemned, how you should live, etc.
@justthisstupid We are saved by grace and faith in Him. That's the whole point of the sacrifice.
Yeah, the symbolic lamb represents God's nature, but in the Old Testament, the lamb was a symbol of cleansing. And Jesus was that lamb who was slain for our cleansing.
@MrGambito7 What is true love then? How is it different from just love? Based on what I've seen from Hollywood, it's more like true lust. I've always found the concept of soul mates to be absolutely ridiculous. What if your soul mate happens to have been born on the other side of the world? Will you never find love? Will you not love at all? No. You will conveniently settle with whomever you happen to meet in your life that you connect with enough on a personal level to consider having.
@justthisstupid That's why God has a purpose for everyone. Your argument is full of "what if," making it hard to believe because it's all hypothetical.
And oh yeah!! Cause we're supposed to believe EVERYTHING we see on Hollywood? Not to be rude, but really? "Love is patient, love is kind..." True love is described in 1st Corinthians chapter 13. :)
@MrGambito7 "And when Jesus says things about the law, He is directing Himself to the Jews, which live by law. Romans 2:12"
This verse you put up was not spoken by Jesus, but written by Paul. And, Jesus was almost always speaking directly to his followers when he spoke of the law. Are you saying that only the Jews should live by the law, or what..? :/
@MrGambito7 "He is all-powerful, but He does not abuse it." What you consider abuse must be nothing, when it comes to your god. There are countless examples in the bible alone, which was written in FAVOR of God, in which he abuses his power over and over again for stupid, blasphemous reasons. I could give many examples, but because the whole flood thing doesn't seem to be getting anywhere with you, how about Zephaniah 1:7-18, (the fire of his jealousy? sounds very human) 1 Kings 20:35-36 (wtf)
@MrGambito7 And when you say he did not make us exactly in his image, you are only using an interpretation of the clearly written words that you as a Christian are supposed to believe with all your heart. You can't just claim 'not exactly', because it is not written that way.
@MrGambito7 “-a mother's love is the best possible example we can take to compare to God's love.” Your god would probably be quite angry at you for comparing him to a woman, as they are considered inferior and subservient to men in the bible. He is more like an authoritarian father who demands respect and praise at all times and dishes out the punishments when he doesn't get enough people listening to the way he wants them to live their lives, even though he created them to choose.
@MrGambito7 "So are you saying God SHOULD have made everything perfect?”
Think hard about this sentence of yours. Imagine two beings with ultimate power. One creates a perfect world where all the people are free, happy, and do not need to do anything in order to be loved and adored by their creator. The people do not know sin or sickness. They love each other, endlessly. The other creates a world of suffering, misery, and death with a catch: Worship ME for eternity or burn. Which god is good?
@justthisstupid How bout you think about this: In a perfect world, there would be no way to learn or grow. In a perfect world, whether or not there Is a God wouldn't matter.
If someone were to hit on your wife, do you not have a right to be mad? After all, your wife IS yours... Praise and worship belongs to God and no one else in the same way. Trials are here for US to realize our full potential. "A kite always flies highest against the wind"
@MrGambito7 "In a perfect world, there would be no way to learn or grow. In a perfect world, whether or not there Is a God wouldn't matter." The most interesting thing I have read in weeks. And I'm not being sarcastic either. I love debating theists who will actually take me seriously. Anyway.. In this imperfect world, science is always being used to find ways around problems and expand convenience.
@justthisstupid What if we didn't have plagues, or storms, or anything to do harm and cause pain? From an evolutionary perspective, this is of course nie impossible. But from a deistic perspective, this would be the realm of a perfect God. You believe in heaven, don't you? Do you think of it as a perfect place, where God lives even though he is not “needed”? Obviously the answer is that in a perfect world, a perfect god will mingle freely with its creation. But instead your sick God made us fall
@MrGambito7 "If someone were to hit on your wife, do you not have a right to be mad? After all, your wife IS yours... Praise and worship belongs to God and no one else in the same way." Can't read without laughing. Just can't. I don't actually have a wife, and while I can try to understand what you mean, I don't think I would think of her as a possession if I did. I would be secure enough to trust her, and if the attention was inappropriate, I would protect her. But that's just me.
@justthisstupid It's not someone's fault when they're being hit on you know. O.o I'm pretty sure you meant if they cheated on you.. I think. Do you mean you would be mad at your wife if someone was harassing her?? Wtf. See, I have a problem with views like that. But if you mean cheating, I'm certain I would love her enough to forgive her. If it happened again.. I would just divorce. And wouldn't have a moral problem with it at all. Besides I'm not attracted to women in the first place..
@justthisstupid Thats besides the point! You have a right to be jealous (which in the old testament, is used as zealous, or passion) because she is YOUR wife. I'm some dude treats your wife like a slut, then you have a right to be angry! Praise and worship are God's and no one else's!
He didn't MAKE us fall. I don't know WHY He made us to begin with; I'm not God. But I AM grateful that He gives us this chance to live and love, even though we are imperfect.
@MrGambito7 Ok, you lost me. What have I said that you think is beside the point? Because I've posted quite a lot in response, and I can't help but wonder if you've actually read all of it...? "I'm some dude treats your wife like a slut, then you have a right to be angry! Praise and worship are God's and no one else's!" What? I'm not sure at all what you're trying to say here. I don't understand why you're using this situation with someone hitting on your wife? Please explain it to me.
@justthisstupid In the old Testament, jealousy and zeal ARE the same thing.
What I'm saying is, that praise rightfully belongs to God, and no one else! When we give someone/thing His glory, does He not have a right to be angry? He is a jealous God.
Coveting IS wanting something that isn't yours!!
What about North Korea?
A sacrifice HAD to be made, because that's how much God hates sin.
And i'm grateful for life, even though it's hard to understand at times.
@MrGambito7 "In the old Testament, jealousy and zeal ARE the same thing." No. God only uses them at once. In very commanding and violent ways.
"[...] Coveting IS wanting something that isn't yours!!" I wasn't saying it isn't, so there's no need to stress it. I don't understand your paragraph about giving someone their glory, so I'll leave it alone. *facepalm*
"What about North Korea?" Your god is a cruel dictator who is worshiped as a beloved leader by his followers. His flaws are ignored.
@justthisstupid For one, He has no flaws. The whole glory thing is the key to why He alone is to be worshipped.
You might say that He has flaws because He made us knowing we would screw up. But you see, He is omniscient, meaning that He sees the "big picture" while we don't. We may not understand things now, but everything has a purpose and He knows what He's doing. God doesn't promise an explanation, but He DOES promise that He'll walk with us at a personal level.
@MrGambito7 And you know this because he came down and told you, right?. Through a crazy book that makes no sense that was written by humans... God created everything perfect, even poisonous plants and human tails that disappeared through national selection (some people still are born with it). He is so perfect and knows everything so much that he gets angry all the time. "God", or at least your version of it is a joke.
@chriswonderboy *sigh... He made everything and knows everything. It's no joke. He knows why everything happens. We don't understand why, but the best I can tell you is that without trials, you can't grow. :)
@MrGambito7 I´ll respect your point of view. I read the bible and the god of the bible is not good and kind and is not visible nor obvious. You can believe all you like and repeat the ¨we don´t understand¨ thing. I try to understand. That´s why I don´t believe. Is there a god? Cool! Until proof can be given, I will seek the natural world which has many trials as well that give growth. I know the christian god well. My dad was a pastor and I grew up in a few churches. I know what I talk about.
@MrGambito7 Anger and jealousy aren't the same things. And being jealous is definitely not the same thing as being zealous, or the same as being passionate. You can be more than one of them at once, but someone who is passionately jealous is likely to be a control freak. And someone who is zealously jealous is likely to be an abusive control freak. Why would you punish your wife for someone hitting on her?.. Especially if it wasn't her fault. Do you think someone who was raped is a slut?
@MrGambito7 I'm not saying you don't have a right to be jealous, btw. But it usually isn't considered a good quality. One of the ten commandments even says not to covet. Which is quite hypocritical when you consider how God's jealousy is a part of his image that he's so proud to violently display. You'll probably say that you can't covet what isn't yours, but according to your own lore, everything is God's. Therefore being jealous of anything is a sin. XD
@MrGambito7 "He didn't MAKE us fall." He made us to fall. He made us knowing we would fall. He made us in his own image. He made us and didn't forgive us for a single sin without blood being spilled. So technically, he did make us fall.
@MrGambito7 "But I AM grateful that He gives us this chance to live and love, even though we are imperfect." You've heard of North Korea, haven't you? O.o
@MrGambito7 How could a perfectly good being ever need to regret anything? Like when God regretted creating all the humans and decided to destroy them with a flood? What is the point of being perfectly good if you make such huge mistakes (despite also being all-knowing) and still commit mass murder of things that YOU CREATED. The God of the bible acts really imperfect, but only claims that he is perfect. Kind of like the Greek and Roman gods, only he is a major prude and seems to hate women.
Someone always suffers when there is forgiveness - the one forgiving. God is the one forgiving, God is the one who suffered. We are the ones set free.
@141cjs Someone is always brutally physically tortured by the person they are forgiving?? You know, the bible says that before Jesus died, he asked his father if there was another way.... Apparently God can't forgive without bloody sacrifice. And how are we free from anything? You can still feel pain, can't you? You still have evil inside you, don't you? If you believe that Jesus died for your sins, you must also accept the fact that nothing has changed in this world by his "sacrifice."
@boblekon so let me get this straight you are sayng that a single mother with no family who works on the sabbath to feed her children will burn in hell for all eternity and that she diserves this, because God said so in an over 2000 year old book?
“He stayed angry because the reason He decided to create humanity in the first place was so that everyone would choose to obey him all the time.”
“[...] if Sam will simply apologize for not being perfect, then God won't punish him.”
If this God is real, there will be loads of rational people shouting and jeering at Him on "Judgement Day" for what a psychotic, bi-polar bastard he is and calling him out for breaking his own rules. I know I would.
Yes we don't have to live in a world with such a horrible God but the problem is we have to live in a world with his followers. Followers who are mentally sick and are always fighting, killing and blowing each other up. That isn't really fair because if I get blown up by a Muslim or Christian bomb and die I am at a disadvantage. Because when Christians and Muslims die they go to paradise for ever and all that happens to me is that I am just unconscious forever. Now I ask you is that fair?
Please don't make fun of God. He only killed 99.7% of the species so that we could thrive. In was his plan to send his only son on suicide mission so that the believers could kill him over and over and over again and drink his blood and eat his body and then kill him over and over again. Blood everywhere when a white lie occurs.More blood than any horror film you've ever seen. Christian believers want to share the blood.. I mean love with everyone.
No idea and I, like you, am to lazy to Google it. For one thing, it's logically obvious.
Every man born of woman (that includes Jesus) is condemned to hell because of "original sin".
If the only path to salvation is through belief in, and worship of, Jesus BECAUSE Jesus died of the cross then Jesus *must* have gone to hell when he died because before his death there was no path to salvation.
@DaToNyOyO ohh wait so because of my vaulty acient inbreeding ancestors i now have to devote my life to some faceless god who murderded his own son for me ? and if i do so, i'll be speding all of eternity with people like you in heaven xD ? i'd rather go to hell . lucky for me I dont have to choose either of those options because they don't exists. because there is no afterlive.
good luck with not knowing what your own holy book say's, and not caring to look it up either. Cya ;)
Hey, don't assume. It makes an ass of U not Me. It's not my holy book..
Even a mildly rational, brain damaged, chimp can tell what's shit by the stink. I could write a better book than that by accident. And people like me don't get into heaven; only the narcissistic sycophants get into heaven, so they say.
Just because you're an atheist doesn't give to carte blanche to be a dick. I merely answered your question with reasoned logic. I never claimed I believed it to be true.
@DaToNyOyO I must have interpreted your previous comment quite wrong then, im honestly intersted what do you believe then DaToNyOyO ? you claim that ''Every man born of woman (that includes Jesus) is condemned to hell because of "original sin".'' (you did not say the bible sad so, you typed it like you sad it was so). i apologize for the misunderstanding on my part.
@MrGambito7 What about his human half then???? (Not to butt in, but seriously. You missed DaToNyOyO's point.) If Jesus grew inside his human mother as a baby, then he is also her child. You can't just ignore that. Besides, no one would be able to survive without the mitochondrial dna obtained through a woman's genetics. Also, cells can not just spontaneously generate. There's no such thing as a son of a gun. :/
@justthisstupid Thats why He was the perfect sacrifice. He was a half-human (His mom) and half-God (Holy Spirit) sort of thing, making Him holy, but limited by our flesh.
@MrGambito7 " Thats why He was the perfect sacrifice. He was a half-human (His mom) and half-God (Holy Spirit) sort of thing, making Him holy, but limited by our flesh."
In response, here is a quote from DaToNyOyO: "therefore he acquired "original sin" just by being born, just like the rest of us."
I don't know what ur talking about. I may not see ur point or that way. I love life. I'm so happy and found my passion. Its a fallen world so there's suffering but I got something in me & I met Jesus not religion and I live everyday in his abundance of love and freedom. I realized religious doctrines take that. Bind the freedom and amazing stuff.
I am loved and learning the author of it. I think u may have gotten this confused with religion. Check out the page "religion exposed" on facebook.
Naturally, Christianity doesn't make much sense. But to be completely fair, we need to keep in mind that "Original Sin" (IOW Eve messed things up, we all pay) isn't a universal trait of Christianity, and that Christians usually argue that you're punished for your *own* sins. ("Have you ever told a lie? Then you're a liar and deserve to be tortured for eternity.") That's not much better, admittedly, but it's not about what Eve did.
Something that I have always found really absurd is that God is timeless, all knowing, etc. So by that understanding when he told Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit, he already knew that they would. To expand on that, when he created Adam and Eve, he did so with the knowledge that they would later eat the fruit, and that he would have to punish them and all that followed. Thus God created humanity as beings predestined for his torment and torture. Kinda sadistic don't you think.
PLEASE!!!!!!!! people if you want to talk about God make sure you know what you're talking about, read His word to find out things about God! and don't take things out of context either! I know you may say that we are supposed to see him when you look at Christians, however as sad as it is you truely can't see God by looking at them today, with a few expections here there of course! so next time you want to bash this "sadaistic" God make sure you know what he's really like
@jkm1087 Since you say reading the Bible makes this okay, what exactly is the context that the Bible gives for any of this? While you're at it, what about the context that allows for genocide, infanticide, racism, and slavery to be deemed acceptable. I'm eager to see how you twist your own moral sense just to accept "God" into your life.
@jkm1087 Do you know what he's really like? All you're telling us to do is learn about a god that we clearly already know about.
Very few atheists become atheist for poor reasons. We've examined your god, we know what he's supposedly done, and quite frankly we have no interest in worshipping him if he does exist. The fact that you believe such an insane being does exist and you think he loves you causes me great concern for your mental health.
@jkm1087 - I accept your challenge. Just tell me what to do in order to get a verifiable, authentic and unambiguous document or file containing his word. And be advised that The Bible, Qur'an, Book of Mormon, etc., do not meet those criteria.
@KarenLeFemme In this context ,this video and everyone talking about it, are bashing Christianity so yes in this context I am saying read the Christian bible.
@KarenLeFemme Our earliest Hebrew copy of the Old Testament was the Masoretic text, dating around 800 A.D. The Dead Sea Scrolls date to the time of Jesus. We also have the Septuagint which is a Greek translation of the Old Testament dating in the second century B.C. When we compare these texts which have an 800-1000 years gap between them we are amazed that 95% of the texts are identical
@MajorDylan - Providing your facts are correct, they hardly serve as evidence that the Creator of All That Is approves the message. If you want to broaden your knowledge of extant Judeo Christian manuscripts, take a look at the work of John M. Allegro. He was, I am led to understand, the only non-Catholic who worked on the Qumran documents.
@KarenLeFemme Thank you for your insight Karen. I'll spend sometime looking into John Allegro. As for the Creator approving the message of the Bible, I believe it does take faith that the creator is Sovereign in ways we don't fully understand.
And where is "his" word? In the christian bible, with all it's 438 contradictions?
Everyone educated knows how heavily rewritten, mistranslated and just plain screwed with the bible is. They even go Yeshua's name wrong and transliterated it to Jesus instead of Joshua.
And which version? Should we learn Greek? Or just go with the version you bought, since you think it's the right one?
How can anyone rational treat that divisive nonsense as a worthy source of anything but lies?
@DaToNyOyO “The last foundation for any doubt that the scripts of the Old and New Testaments have come down to us substantially as they were written has now been removed. Both the authenticity and the general integrity of these works may now be finally established and proved, probably to be the most authentic historical documents known to man.”
FF Bruce, author, New Testament Documents: Are They Reliable?
@MajorDylan 13 minutes and already marked as spam? Seems harsh.
“The last foundation for any doubt that the scripts of the Old and New Testaments have come down to us substantially as they were written has now been removed"
So the book started FULL of contradictions? Thanks for proving my point.
"the authenticity and the general integrity of these works may now be finally established and proved"
Meaning that they aren't forgeries, not that they came from god.
video is incorrect for god made more rules other then not to eat from that tree, we break them daily we only know that Eve made 1 sin or at least from what we know now obviously you can see a differance.
woah woah woah. you know almost nothing about the Catholic faith. but you will ignore it if i tell you that nearly everything you said was wrong. OUT OF FUCKING CONTEXT!!! and the creeper 2:17 o_o
You just don't understand anything. God's universe, God's rules do not questioned God's ways with suspicion or you will never know truth it's not enough just to believe in God you need to believe God. Start from yourself who are you or anyone else that does not deserve punishment. You're nobody and nothing you don't even deserve to live your life is a gift for free so thank God, and God will give you understanding and knowledge. The only remedy for the imperfections of the human race is a grave
@rinmaone2 Allah is of course the only true God. How dare you even think that maybe Allah wasn't the one true God; you will be punished for an eternity for such extreme blasphemy.
@tsilver33 Yes! Religion has a word for it called faith. Definition of faith: not thinking. Just have faith(shut your brain off and not think) and it will all make sense.
Also when i meant sinners i actually meant Sin itself as i explained below. Jesus was sent to earth as a way for man to enter the Kingdom of God. Without Jesus there would be no way to enter as we are full of sin. The new testament says during the second coming of Christ those who are still alive and who are full of sin will perish before the sight of the lord. While those who follow him will be given new, incorruptible bodies.
Sin is like a disease. It spreads fast. Its addictive. Have you noticed how most evil things in the world our addictive? Drugs, alcohol, cigarettes etc.. Once you sin you'll do it again. Heaven is a place without sin. So if you don't believe and trust in Jesus Christ you wont enter because his blood won't have washed your sins away. Jesus said: "Only through me is the way to the father." So without accepting Jesus you cant see him.
The bible says that everyone who has died is not in hell or heaven. But rather, in their tomb. During the coming of the lord and great trumpet will sound from heaven and all the righteous dead will rise first and ascend to heaven, while the lost will rise from their tombs last and will be judged. The bible says the lost who are still alive and did not hear the truth will perish before the sight of the lord. "They have ears but do not hear, they have eyes but do not see"
Hell is the second death. Sinners will be cast into the lake of fire and will perish, turn to ashes. But anyone who trusts in Jesus will have eternal life. Jesus proved his power when he defeated death. During his second coming he will separate the sheep (Elect) from the goats (Lost). The sheep will reign in heaven with him and the goats will perish.
God is blameless to condemn and just in his sentence. We are all born sinners. God cannot be in the presence of sinners and because we all our we are all destined for hell. Thankfully God gave his only son to die for us and by simply saying: Jesus i accept you into my heart as my lord and Saviour you will have eternal life. You are not punished in hell for eternity, if you were Jesus did not pay the price. He died and rose from the dead 3 days later.
@GriiiiiiinD You said, "God cannot be in the presence of sinners and because we all our we are all destined for hell..." Wow! I never realized what a WIMP god was if he is so weak that he simply "cannot be in the presence of sinners" - uh-oh, now wait, I seem to remember Jesus being in the presence of sinners,.... hmmmm, NOW WHAT????
I am an atheist but I think I might have found a sort of loop hole. Exorcism. Ppl acting krazy possesd by demons can be "cured" with religious relics. Can someone explain?
the Bible never made any sense to me, it just seemed like the church "edited" the parts that didn't fit in with their small and closed mentality during the dark ages until you no longer knew which is the true word of god and which is the fairy tale =/
Sigh, I suppose if I just rerequested you to give support first, then it'd just get into a childish sort of "No You!" sort of thing. And honestly, I prefer to show the flaws in scientific theory, like that "Big Bang Theory" you guys've got going. Most basic rule for science: Nothing is spontaneous. Yet this energy which in order to be in that small space would have had to be in balance, randomly (which is SO riding on spontaneous) exploded and just so happened to make life with no life. Really?
yes furever webkinz is right there should be only one God and statue gods can not help you
BuddiesFan1 1 day ago
God is NOTHING like that... he is one kind God.... does the little statue god move? breathe? talk? or even HELP YOU?! I dont think so.... But God is the creator of us all and its not because God wanted to punish us... its because of Satan (Lucifer) He tempted Adam and Eve to sin and so God had to punish us for our sins. But instead os punishing US by dieing he let his own son be the lamb for out sins... so Its OUR fault we sin.... but thats our nature.. we are NOT perfect.. God is a LOVEING God.
FureverWebkinz 1 day ago 3
@FureverWebkinz If God loves us, why he had to punish us? Why can't he forgive? Isn't he omnipotent? What's stopping him?

Lucifer tempted Adam and Eve and he should punish them. Not anybody else.

Logical faults:
1. Babies and little Children aren't punished when they die
2. You sin yourself, you won't get punished for eating Eve's apple, you'll get punished for YOUR sins
3. I'm awfully happy that God is just and needed a sacrifice; would you want to be subject to an unfair authority?
4. Jesus was God in flesh: God didn't use somebody to sacrifice for us; he sacrificed himself (his only son) for us --> true, unselfish love
Through Jesus love and righteousness kissed each other.

Also,if the reserrection is true, why are there no accounts from eye witnesses who saw the zombies who came out of their graves?Did people just think that that wasn't worth writing about for everyone else?
flpackman1 1 week ago
Everything you just said is perfectly correct. Except one thing: God HATES sin. He hates it so much (because He is holy AKA set apart from sin), that the price of sin is, in fact, death. And so humanity sins, setting us apart to be condemned forever. He could have just left it at that. He is still God no matter what. He could have said, "Hey, they sinned. They can pay for it."
But no, He decided to take the punishment we so much deserved, so we could be redeemed.
GOD IS LOVE:)

@justthisstupid Based on what Romans 2:12 says, then yes. And was Paul not continuing what Christ started?
MrGambito7 4 days ago
@MrGambito7 "All who sin apart from the law, and all who also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law." (Romans 2:12) Am I missing something here, or is it you? Where does this only apply to Jewish people? It says ALL in each clause, as in everyone. The entire passage is directed to humanity in general.
justthisstupid 3 days ago
@MrGambito7 "All who sin apart from the law" refers to the Gentiles. "[A]ll who also perish apart from the law" refers to people who died never hearing of Yahweh. "[A]ll who sin under the law" refers to people who know God's law. "[...] will be judged by the law." Meaning everyone will be judged by God's stupid laws, even people who have never heard of him.
justthisstupid 3 days ago
@MrGambito7 Also, if you read the entire passage, you get a biblical admittance to the fact that other societies with different gods developed good, decent morals without almighty big-g God's guidance. Many pagan morals coincide with those in the Mosaic laws. That's what the bible itself says. And that's why it also says that everyone will be judged by God's laws. Therefore, based on what you believe in, you have to admit that EVERYONE is capable of knowing what is moral, including the deranged.
justthisstupid 3 days ago
@justthisstupid And you also have to admit that you believe in objective morality. Meaning that God did not change his mind about what he considered moral, and that ALL of the Mosaic laws still apply to today. So if you are truly a Christian, feel free to have as many wives as you want, get your brothers together and go destroy cities full of sinners, stone all who oppose you including your children if they displease you, and pray constantly instead of ever seeing the inside of a hospital.

MrGambito7 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 Woe, woe, woe. Hold everything a sec before we get into a huge fight over the existence of Jesus. What about GOD'S sins? In the old testament, God repeatedly broke his own rules, but still claimed to be perfectly just and perfectly good. If you believe in Noah's ark, you also believe that God slaughtered most of the ENTIRE WORLD! Including all the animals, who have no knowledge of right or wrong (debatably). He also commanded his people to kill, conquer, and take up stones.
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@justthisstupid Again, I don't claim to know God, but God IS Jesus... He destroyed mankind because they had become evil. And yes, He knew they would, but He had Noah in mind. He had US in mind. It's like asking why a loving mother would bring a child into this world of disease, knowing that the child would suffer in one way or another? The answer: The mom knows that happiness, joy, love, etc. are, BY FAR, way more valuable. God knows that no amount of darkness can hide a spark of light.
MrGambito7 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 But God didn't just give birth to us. And human mothers are NOT perfect. You can't reasonably compare one to an omnibenevolent god in the way that you did. If you believe that he created us (every component that makes us human. Dreaming up every cell and impulse.) then you must believe that he created us in his image. And therefore a great part of that image must be evil. How could humans have evil inside them at all if the being that made them was entirely good?
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 Do you know how terrible dying is? Drowning to death? Well do you at least have an idea? Are you aware of how great the suffering is that has always been in the world, regardless of the time period? You write off all the deaths of sentient people and innocent children in this supposed great flood (and there would have been children and unborn babies that died as well as animals and plant life), because one man and his family survived.. leading to OUR existence?
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@justthisstupid Even though it's not even close, a mother's love is the best possible example we can take to compare to God's love.
The truth is that NO ONE is innocent, young or old, "all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God."
God is holy and perfect. He made us in His his image. Not EXACTLY like Him because He is the only one holy and perfect, but in His likeness.
I also wouldn't consider Him making us a mistake.
So are you saying God SHOULD have made everything perfect?
MrGambito7 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 N is innocent, young or old."
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 Sorry about that. *facepalm* I meant to quote "NO ONE is innocent, young or old," So then God is not innocent, is he? If he created everything, then he had to have been able to know good from evil himself. Why is it not a sin for him to have knowledge of evil, even though he clearly uses it for his own purposes in the bible? What is this glory you speak of? The glory of being the same as everyone, only claiming otherwise (and being invisible)?
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@justthisstupid God is not "innocent" by definition. He knows everything, and it's not a sin for Him to know good and evil because He is God. He is NOT the same as us. He is almighty, He is all-powerful. You can't say that He's one of us because He's not.
And it's a verse dude. Romans 3:23
If He made man EXACTLY to His image, we would be all-powerfull as well, which we are not. He did not clone himself in us.
What bigger love is there on this this earth than a mother's love for her child?
MrGambito7 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 Romans 3:23 huh? "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," - NIV bible. You may think this means that the god in question has glory over humans, but according to my study bible, the "glory of God" is what God intended humans to be. So based on your own lore, God wants his people to be like him completely, or to choose to be like him, which is why he has heaven waiting for them. And when they are filled with "the power of Jesus" *tries not to laugh*, they are perfect.
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 "God is not "innocent" by definition." Well, I agree with you there. Obviously the god we're talking about could not be innocent of any of the tragedies and monstrosities of this world. But even though you have stated that it is not a sin for him to know what evil is, that he is not the same as us, and that he is omnipotent, and blah blah blah, you have not offered any evidence of any of these things. It's one thing to just say it. It's another to actually relate answers.
justthisstupid 1 week ago

You do realize that the feeling of "love" is stimulated in the human mind by a series of neurotransmitters and hormones??
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@justthisstupid Love is sooooooo much more than neurotransmitters in your brain... The people that kill their kids didn't want them to begin with. That's the true core of the problem. The only reason I brought that up was to realize that magnitude of God's love for us.
And yes, He wants us to strive for holiness with His help.
Well He is NOT the same as us so we can't compare ourselves to Him.
All the defects of this world are not God's actions. He is all-powerful, but He does not abuse it.
MrGambito7 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 What more is love then?.. Clearly you have not studied the brain, probably not even human physiology in general if you don't know what causes us to feel.
"The only reason I brought that up was to realize that magnitude of God's love for us." XD Yes the love of a psychotic mother with postpartum depression who regretted ever having children so she drowned them! Guess your analogy fits when put in THAT perspective.
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@justthisstupid Are you really limiting the beauty and complexity of love to some mere neurotransmitters?? Yes, I understand the science behind why we feel, but true love and consciousness is soooooooo much more than mere chemicals hopping from neuron to neuron; synapse to synapse.
MrGambito7 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 "Are you really limiting the beauty and complexity of love to some mere neurotransmitters??" And to hormones.. And to perceptual factors/cues... But yeah, that's what I'm doing. I know, I'm a bastard.
You know, without your cerebral cortex, you would be in a coma right now? You would be able to breath and regulate your heart rate, if your brain stem was intact. There have actually been cases of babies being born this way; missing parts of their brains. They usually die.
justthisstupid 1 week ago

A baffling one that is.
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 How about this: "All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness [...]" (2 Timothy 3:16) Sounds binding.
And this: “Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law" (John7:19). You know, lying can be life-savingly useful given certain circumstances. But apparently, it's still an act of murder with your tongue! And why isn't "Do not rape" one of the ten commandments?
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 You say that in the times of the Old Testament, people lived by strict law and now we live by grace. Then how could the almighty god not have made the world so that we would live by grace and peace from the beginning instead of starting so bloody and gruesome?
isky1357 6 days ago
@isky1357 Because of SIN. That's why they lived by law. That's why they had to sacrifice spotless lambs to cleanse themselves. When Jesus died, He was the perfect lamb that cleansed the whole world's sin, and THAT'S why we live by grace now. Because even though we were sinners, Christ died for us.
MrGambito7 6 days ago
@MrGambito7 That does not make ANY sense.
chriswonderboy 5 days ago
@chriswonderboy In Old Testament times, people had to sacrifice lambs that were 1 year of age and spotless in order to atone and cleanse their sin.
When Jesus came, He WAS that perfect lamb on a much larger scale. He was perfect and spotless, so He could die and atone/cleanse us from our sin. Now He gives the privilege of forgiveness to all that want it.
MrGambito7 5 days ago
@MrGambito7 So you're in a cult that is based on human sacrifice. I don't think that's very moral.
omgwtfbbqxD 4 days ago 13
@MrGambito7 You keep saying that because Jesus was the "perfect lamb" that we are now "saved by grace". But just listen to yourself. If God is perfect, then he need never change the way that his moral system works. A perfect being does not need to update its morals, or arrange for a different system of morality. But if things are different now, after Jesus was sacrificed, then obviously God changed his mind about forgiveness. That is why what you believe does not make any sense to us atheists.
justthisstupid 4 days ago
@MrGambito7 "In Old Testament times, people had to sacrifice lambs that were 1 year of age and spotless in order to atone and cleanse their sin." This doesn't make sense because if we humans sin and are dirty before God, then an animal of lower intelligence will INDEFINATELY sin and not even feel guilty about it. How can a lamb be spotless if it is constantly "sinning"? Especially if a human baby is considered a sinner? Christians love to say "We are all sinners, young and old". I think YOU did.
justthisstupid 4 days ago
@MrGambito7 Of course, one nonreligious explanation for animal sacrifice is that olden societies of humans would become fearful of their unpredictable environments and very superstitious about storms, death, and plagues. They were intelligent enough to connect the bad things that happened to them and apply their experiences to something out of their control, but they lacked scientific knowledge of the mechanics of nature. So they offered peace to the unseen beings who dwelled in the heavens.
justthisstupid 4 days ago
@MrGambito7 Oh and btw, lambs weren't the only things sacrificed in the old testament. In fact, there were many different animals used for sacrifices. Including animals that had already mated (sin!!?), or in Noah's case hopefully they already did or their species would have gone extinct. I'm running on the assumption that you already know all about this though, and you only used the baby lambs as an example?
justthisstupid 4 days ago
@justthisstupid I am aware that your brain is responsible for the way we think and act. What I'm saying is that by limiting love to hormones, binocular/monocular perceptual cues, etc. your limiting love. Love transcends beyond all of that to a deeper aspect of humans.
And when Jesus says things about the law, He is directing Himself to the Jews, which live by law. Romans 2:12
And it may sound binding, as you have put it, but God wants us to submit to Him. He gave up everything for us.
MrGambito7 4 days ago
@MrGambito7 Look, about the love thing, I know I sound like a chunk of cold metal when I talk about its mechanics. Even some of my friends, who are mostly atheists, tell me that. But your brain and your body is what enables you to do EVERYTHING that you are capable of. If there was a spiritual part of your body, in reality it doesn't seem to be needed for any metabolic processes, functions, or senses. The fight or flight response. Aging. Mental illness. How we work is not by spiritual means.
justthisstupid 4 days ago
@MrGambito7 "And it may sound binding, as you have put it, but God wants us to submit to Him. He gave up everything for us." ... YES. EXACTLY! God wants us to submit to HIS WORDS!!!! Including the ones he wrote in the old testament. *facepalm*
justthisstupid 4 days ago

If you believe that the entire bible was inspired directly by God's words, then you must see everything that is wrong with those words as well as what can be accepted as good.
justthisstupid 1 day ago
@justthisstupid What I'm saying is: God could have very well kept on living by the law, and we would all be condemned. Just like we were in the first place... But no. Out of complete mercy and love he decides to say, "Wait, here's another chance." Jesus came to show that love and compassion to those that needed it. "Does a doctor go to heal the healthy? No, he goes to the sick. Jesus came for those who needed that love, mercy, and second chance.
MrGambito7 1 day ago
@MrGambito7 "The lamb was a symbol of God cleansing the sins." Well actually, I think you mean the lamb was a symbol of God's nature, the other part of that nature being the lion. Based on what I remember from Revelations anyway. I've always found it interesting how the devil was also compared to a lion. But anyway.. If you aren't supposed to live by God's law, then what are you supposed to live by? O.o It says pretty clearly in the bible what is to be condemned, how you should live, etc.
justthisstupid 1 day ago
@justthisstupid We are saved by grace and faith in Him. That's the whole point of the sacrifice.
Yeah, the symbolic lamb represents God's nature, but in the Old Testament, the lamb was a symbol of cleansing. And Jesus was that lamb who was slain for our cleansing.
MrGambito7 1 day ago
@MrGambito7 What is true love then? How is it different from just love? Based on what I've seen from Hollywood, it's more like true lust. I've always found the concept of soul mates to be absolutely ridiculous. What if your soul mate happens to have been born on the other side of the world? Will you never find love? Will you not love at all? No. You will conveniently settle with whomever you happen to meet in your life that you connect with enough on a personal level to consider having.
justthisstupid 1 day ago

justthisstupid 4 days ago
@justthisstupid And Paul's writings were inspired by God, so in a sense, yes, Jesus WAS saying it.
MrGambito7 3 days ago
@MrGambito7 "He is all-powerful, but He does not abuse it." What you consider abuse must be nothing, when it comes to your god. There are countless examples in the bible alone, which was written in FAVOR of God, in which he abuses his power over and over again for stupid, blasphemous reasons. I could give many examples, but because the whole flood thing doesn't seem to be getting anywhere with you, how about Zephaniah 1:7-18, (the fire of his jealousy? sounds very human) 1 Kings 20:35-36 (wtf)
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 And when you say he did not make us exactly in his image, you are only using an interpretation of the clearly written words that you as a Christian are supposed to believe with all your heart. You can't just claim 'not exactly', because it is not written that way.
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 “-a mother's love is the best possible example we can take to compare to God's love.” Your god would probably be quite angry at you for comparing him to a woman, as they are considered inferior and subservient to men in the bible. He is more like an authoritarian father who demands respect and praise at all times and dishes out the punishments when he doesn't get enough people listening to the way he wants them to live their lives, even though he created them to choose.
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 "So are you saying God SHOULD have made everything perfect?”
Think hard about this sentence of yours. Imagine two beings with ultimate power. One creates a perfect world where all the people are free, happy, and do not need to do anything in order to be loved and adored by their creator. The people do not know sin or sickness. They love each other, endlessly. The other creates a world of suffering, misery, and death with a catch: Worship ME for eternity or burn. Which god is good?

@justthisstupid What if we didn't have plagues, or storms, or anything to do harm and cause pain? From an evolutionary perspective, this is of course nie impossible. But from a deistic perspective, this would be the realm of a perfect God. You believe in heaven, don't you? Do you think of it as a perfect place, where God lives even though he is not “needed”? Obviously the answer is that in a perfect world, a perfect god will mingle freely with its creation. But instead your sick God made us fall

Can't read without laughing. Just can't. I don't actually have a wife, and while I can try to understand what you mean, I don't think I would think of her as a possession if I did. I would be secure enough to trust her, and if the attention was inappropriate, I would protect her. But that's just me.
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@justthisstupid It's not someone's fault when they're being hit on you know. O.o I'm pretty sure you meant if they cheated on you.. I think. If it happened again.. I would just divorce. And wouldn't have a moral problem with it at all. Besides I'm not attracted to women in the first place..
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@justthisstupid Thats besides the point! You have a right to be jealous (which in the old testament, is used as zealous, or passion) because she is YOUR wife. I'm some dude treats your wife like a slut, then you have a right to be angry! Praise and worship are God's and no one else's!
He didn't MAKE us fall. I don't know WHY He made us to begin with; I'm not God. But I AM grateful that He gives us this chance to live and love, even though we are imperfect.

I don't understand why you're using this situation with someone hitting on your wife? Please explain it to me.
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@justthisstupid In the old Testament, jealousy and zeal ARE the same thing.
What I'm saying is, that praise rightfully belongs to God, and no one else! When we give someone/thing His glory, does He not have a right to be angry? He is a jealous God.
Coveting IS wanting something that isn't yours!!

His flaws are ignored.
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@justthisstupid For one, He has no flaws. The whole glory thing is the key to why He alone is to be worshipped.
You might say that He has flaws because He made us knowing we would screw up. But you see, He is omniscient, meaning that He sees the "big picture" while we don't. We may not understand things now, but everything has a purpose and He knows what He's doing. God doesn't promise an explanation, but He DOES promise that He'll walk with us at a personal level.

@MrGambito7 And you know this because he came down and told you, right?. Through a crazy book that makes no sense that was written by humans... He is so perfect and knows everything so much that he gets angry all the time. "God", or at least your version of it is a joke.

I know what I talk about.
chriswonderboy 21 hours ago
@MrGambito7 Anger and jealousy aren't the same things. And being jealous is definitely not the same thing as being zealous, or the same as being passionate. You can be more than one of them at once, but someone who is passionately jealous is likely to be a control freak. And someone who is zealously jealous is likely to be an abusive control freak. Why would you punish your wife for someone hitting on her?.. Especially if it wasn't her fault. Do you think someone who was raped is a slut?
justthisstupid 1 week ago
@MrGambito7 I'm not saying you don't have a right to be jealous, btw. But it usually isn't considered a good quality. One of the ten commandments even says not to covet. Which is quite hypocritical when you consider how God's jealousy is a part of his image that he's so proud to violently display. You'll probably say that you can't covet what isn't yours, but according to your own lore, everything is God's. Therefore being jealous of anything is a sin. XD

JaneDoelicious 3 weeks ago
Something that I have always found really absurd is that God is timeless, all knowing, etc. So by that understanding when he told Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit, he already knew that they would. To expand on that, when he created Adam and Eve, he did so with the knowledge that they would later eat the fruit, and that he would have to punish them and all that followed. Thus God created humanity as beings predestined for his torment and torture. Kinda sadistic don't you think.

Just what is your point?

video is incorrect for god made more rules other then not to eat from that tree, we break them daily we only know that Eve made 1 sin or at least from what we know now obviously you can see a differance.

The only true God is the Father himself. Allah isn't the one true God. You will be punished for believing in a false idol.

@rinmaone2 Yes, that makes PERFECT sense. THANK YOU for finally stating the truth about God!

@SkepticalBliss

While those who accepted Christ will be covered in his blood and will be saved.

"They have ears but do not hear, they have eyes but do not see"
GriiiiiiinD 1 month ago

GriiiiiiinD 1 month ago
@GriiiiiiinD You said, "God cannot be in the presence of sinners and because we all our we are all destined for hell..." Wow! I never realized what a WIMP god was if he is so weak that he simply "cannot be in the presence of sinners" - uh-oh, now wait, I seem to remember Jesus being in the presence of sinners,.... hmmmm, NOW WHAT????
SkepticalBliss 1 month ago
@GriiiiiiinD According to the bible he rose from the dead 1.5 days later!!!

Why are you arguing against only Christianity if you are an atheist?
Chrisitianity is not the only theological belief.......... but it seems like that's the only one you care about.........

Really?
