Regardless of how we feel about her lifestyle choices, what an amazing talent and an absolute God-given talent. She is amazing and a beautiful humble soul.
Merci pour ce beau diapo de K.D Lang, quelle voix merveilleuse ! c'est un vrai plaisir de l'entendre et de la réentendre. Merci encore à vous pour ce magnifique partage .
This is an incredible performance by an incredible female vocalist. We live in an era whereby the music is so contrived and full of adages referencing 'Ghetto' culture, promiscuity, booty shakin' and all those kinds of vulgarities. Kd Lang is a pure singer. Just listen to how easy it sounds yet listen to the intricate vocalisation going on! If Beyonce and Christina Aguilera sang this they would be adding in about 20 extra syllables every word. lol.
Where have I been? I hadn't even heard of her until her Olympic Gold Medal performance! Thanks for the pictures. The camera did not show her face so we could see her. I am happy to have seen these intimate shots.
She truly touches the soul when she sings Halleluia.
Lang also sang Hallelujah at the 2006 Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame on the occasion of Cohen's induction into the Hall of Fame. Of that rendition, Cohen's partner, singer Anjani Thomas, said: "After hearing kd lang perform...at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2006 we looked at each other and said, 'well, I think we can lay that song to rest now! Its really been done to its ultimate blissful state of perfection'. It would appear that Mr. Cohen prefers kd lang's rendition, as do I.
Wow I`ve heard the Hallelujah song so many time in my life time and with each different artist i have never ever had it resonate to every single cell within my body before. But with the 2010 song sang by KD Lang the song seem to saturated my body and you just want to listen more and as you listen time seen to stop for you . I don`t know... I just think KD Lang did a real justice to the song at the 2010 olympic. thanks for posting up the song.
KD Lang's video from last night has been removed, "copy write infringement" due to Olympic guidelines. Other videos from Olympics still on YouTube. Anyone know what that's about? TV showed few closeups of her, two of them on her back&one briefly as she was bending forward with only brief glance of her face. I am sad. In hour of singing there were 350 views, when taken off , less than day later, 42,561! Is it just more of same, diminishing Lesbian women? Or am I paranoid?
Definitely paranoid- the song and the performance itself has been copyrighted by The Olympic Committee. I wouldnt be surprised if the vid is up for sale on Itunes within the next few weeks. But dont panic, after the olympics are over they wont care about who posts it.
I too was at this show in vancouver.. KD was amazing. I made eye contact several times and conveyed how much I love her!!XXX (first row stage right) WOW!!!!! what a memory..XXXX to you katherine...
I've listened to so many performances of this song on uTube ... including many of k.d.lang's. I think hers are the absolute best interpretations of the song ... but this one (paper rattling and all) IS a truly "astonishing" performance! Hallelujah to Angelrain for posting!
Wow! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. The power of her voice, especially at the end is what gets me every time. I have never heard another version of her ending like that, and I feel very lucky to have been there to experience this with my own ears : )
Ms. Angelrain ... I've just been listening to it again and it was truly a jump-up-out-of-your-seat performance!! She does sing Hallelujah slightly differently every time. This version just has such a virtuouso finale. I read some of Leonard Cohen's comments about the song. He said he wanted to convey the "Hallelujah" in life regardless of life's circumstances - that joy, passion, and gratitude you can still have in life despite the ups and downs.I just think Lang's expression of that is unique!
She is amazing! there is no word in this world to describe her talent, her ability to get into the very heart with her voice! I wish i could visit her concert but i'm too far away from where she is...:((
