Definitely not feedback. No one is going to have *that* many open mikes, especially in the Navy! Maybe for a couple of seconds, once every few weeks, but not 24/7. Get real. No, it's clearly encrypted voice communications.

I can make this noise by holding the button down on two walkie talkies and holding them next to each other. The unscheduled and seemingly random broadcasts from naval bases make me think that it's just feedback from malfunctioning transmittors. I have a friend who is a naval engineer. I'll ask him about this.

Regardless, open feedback and radio jamming are both fairly plausible in my mind. There's another "incarnation" of this "station" that sounds more like scrambled voices. @skiddlecrumms Yes, when its active - This recording was made after a long period of inactivity from this station. Youll need a shortwave receiver covering longwave up to 30MHz with single sideband, and a simple longwire aerial.
