It made ME cry. I admit it's simple & cheery, some might say hamhanded...but shorts have to be blunt... no time for subplots! Plus this contest is about capturing the charm of a certain job. It was a bit sad because something he loved was ending. Sounded like he was going into mgmt, likely because of money. To me that seems like a tragedy. Even if you disagree on that, there's still a loss: a happy past traded for a no-guarantees future, &we've all been THERE at grad, pet death, empty nest etc.
