Whether or not the hit was 'clean or 'dirty was not relevent. The obstruction interference rule was clearly violated. Campbell's boys and the Verses staff was also clueless to suggest the hit was 'clean.' Lidstrom was prevented from touching the puck by the hit. Interference as defined by the NHL rulebook. Watch the replay, more importantly, watch where the pack was. End of story.

If there was an unwritten rule about not hitting "finesse" players, than nobody on the Red Wings would ever be allowed to get hit. That's all their team is comprised of.
