  • Thanks for the help!!! Fast and to the point, good presentation. I used the 4 points garbage points too. Here is a link to my video

  • i can't get the dropper to erase my green screen background at all like you are doing in the video. I'm using FC pro and no results yet.

  • @Rawbigad oh really? That's odd. Make sure you added the chroma key effect to the clip, double clicked it to show it in the viewer, then have your playhead in the timeline over the same clip so you can see it in the canvas.

  • @ConnorCrosbyPrdctns it's working. thanks

  • i got a question... Why background is completely green with nothing.. infact im using an animation that is of course a Green screen and i didnt everything u said but.. when i click the eye drop on the green it dosnt do anything

  • @Lamsam123 make sure that you are clicking on the same clip you have the chroma key filter on. If you double click on the clip you have in the time line, is it the same one? That may be why.

  • @ConnorCrosbyPrdctns the thing is i only have one clip and the only filter is in it so i really donno

  • @Lamsam123 oh, then I'm not really sure. Sorry. Try searching for it online, maybe others have had the same issue and resolved it.

  • Does this also work on video?

  • @Timothyhendrawan yes, this works on any type of media file except sound, I think.

  • How do you get the checkered board background? I get a solid color.

  • @ScottGorman77 to get a checkered background, go to canvas screen and click on the third button above it. There should be an option to change the background color from black to white to checkerboard.

  • @ConnorCrosbyPrdctns Got it. I see it now. Will this also export with the background like this so that a background can be used outside of FC?

  • @ScottGorman77 sadly I don't think so. That would be great if it would, but I have not found a way to do so. But you could export it regular and then alpha.

  • I'm sorry, but I can't seem to make it work. I'm an animator, and I need to put characters onto a background in FCP, but the chroma key just won't do a thing. Please help!

  • @RockyGemsCarly that's interesting. Can you send me the clip either by sending me a link in a message or upload it and set it to private and send me the link? Then I can take a look at it and try it myself.

  • @ConnorCrosbyPrdctns Sure. I probably have some obscure setting screwing up the chroma keying. Come to think of it, nearly every effect won't work.

  • @RockyGemsCarly you can try using the green screen chroma key, not just the chroma keyer.

  • Very helpful, Thanks

  • Very helpful, Thanks

  • best not to mention fast keying in FCP I have ever seen, great work!

  • @GravenImageFilms thank you for the kind words!

  • awesome finally someone that understands I need to know nooow hehehe thanks :D

  • @CurrentlyDisconected no problem! Glad I could help!

  • Can you please tell me how to apply a stylized effect to the subject in front of the green screen and have a normal backround. you know like line art subject that is black and white and a colorful backround. please help a brother out.

  • @freddytk421 You can! All you have to do is first remove the green screen by following the video. Then, apply your effect. If you want your subject in b/w then apply a color correction and lower the saturation all the way down. You have to do this AFTER you edit out the green screen.

  • @ConnorCrosbyPrdctns Thanks, I tried that and when I apply the line effect it whites out the backround and it won't let me see through it anymore to the back round video. do I need to do some kind of masking or matte or maybe the screen button? Thanks again.

  • @freddytk421 I am sorry, I am not sure what you are trying to achieve.

  • @freddytk421 Do you mind explaining it more in detail. If you want, you can send me a PM so you are not limited in the amount of characters.

  • @ConnorCrosbyPrdctns Thanks man, I figured it out, it took me forever and i'm not really sure what I did. I made a copy of the green screened image and added an image mask to one and a line art filter to the other and unchecked the first ones group. I'm uploading it right now. thanks for the help I will send it to you to see and you can tell me if there is an easier way or what I did if you can. I'll try it again and give you the steps. oh I did it in motion but doint it in FCP would be good.

  • Question... Can you run a secondary video behind him rather than just show a picture? I was trying to make a music video with a band playing over clips of hell in the movie "Constantine" would this work?

  • Yes, you can have several different layers under it, videos or pictures or both! Thanks for watching Connor Tuts!

  • Thanks for the help.

  • you're welcome! Thanks for watching Connor Tuts!

  • "Make sure to light your chroma key good"

Edit: Make sure to light your chroma key well........

  • yes, thank you...
